I absolutely love how this is actually a live session but it has a quality of a studio recording. Shows very well how good the guys are in what they do
I was buying a car in 2002. I had to get an appraisal on my current car for a trade in. This CD played in my car. While the dealership employee came around, they heard "Just Watch the Fireworks" and said "who is this? it's great!". Seeing someone else appreciate, for the first time, the song that you've loved and heard a thousand times, is strange, fun, and I'd recommend it to everyone. I got to do it with this album.
Clarity was a mistake buy, my friend bought it when she meant to buy Bleed American. And now I say Clarity is the best mistake buy anyone has ever done. Soon after, I bought my own copy, still have the original CD. Ever since I heard it for the first time, I've fell in love.
Clarity is nothing short of a masterpiece. Pure gold. And to think that they were only in their early twenties when these songs were created blows my mind. Love you Jimmy Eat World. Always have. Always will.
JEW is one of the greatest rock bands from the last decades. They are tight as can be live, a thing that not many bands can achieve in their lifetime, and they create beautiful, rocking, smart masterpieces all the time. Long live JEW!
I got pretty emotional watching this. I went to Italy when I was 16 with my nonno. We visited his hometown for 3 weeks when he was 86. I listened to it on repeat since I was too young and stupid to embrace the language and spent alot of time indoors. However, It reminds me of happy times when I was with my grandfather. I am now 37 and this album always stays close to my heart.
Don't get me wrong, I love the way they usually end Goodbye Sky Harbor when I've seen them live, but hearing them actually do the loops like on the album gave me goosebumps.

One of the greatest albums of the past 30 years, from one of the greatest bands of that same era. Astonishingly consistent brilliance and how about that friendship and camaraderie these guys have together for a run that long? Really humble and great people.
I heard "For Me This Is Heaven" on a college radio station several times before I figured out who the band was. It was a uniquely beautiful song compared to typical radio material, so it always stood out to me. Such a well-crafted song.
Jezz, I could literally watch Jim singing and playing all day. He was my biggest crush when I was like 16, and daaaamn, he's still so hawwwwwwwt ❤ handsome, classy, absolutely perfect when performing and such a nice dude. Damn I still love him 😊
Clarity has got me through some hard times. Even after all the years, it still holds it's weight as one of the best albums ever made. The songs never seem to lose their luster. Check it out!
Seeing them way back in the day open for blink182 I never realized what a sustainable band they’d be. I’ve seen them live 4 times in my adult life and every single time they’ve blown my mind. Hard to believe these riffs are so old yet sound so modern and technical.
Ten has never been more powerful than this performance. Absolutely incredible. That first chorus gave me the the hardest goosebumps I've had from a song in decades.
This whole performance sounds amazing. I know every single word to this entire album. It's truly a masterpiece. Been listening since the Static Prevails days and I was lucky enough to see them shortly after Clarity came out. I'll never forget the hypnotic intensity of them closing with Goodbye Sky Harbor. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
I'm 33 and remember being brought to tears in 7th grade by the majestic beauty of "For Me This is Heaven" and the rest of this epic album. To this day, in my opinion this is one of the greatest albums in alternative music. Powerful, complex, emotive, progressive but never overcomplicated. Straight to the heart and soul. I was lucky enough to see them many times, but especially on the Clarity X 10 Tour at the Troc in Philly. 2009. Played the album in order, start to finish, then a short encore. Would love to live that day over again.
I love the backing vocals of Robin Vining. Such a beautiful compliment to songs that I didn't think could be any better than they started out as. What I will say is that it is so very rare to get to experience the albums from the past that we love so deeply, delivered back to us years later in a format like this. Thank you guys for doing it.

@@Mystic-Midnight I don’t blame the band. I think most people would agree that Clarity and Futures are their best work. I wish more bands would do what JEW is doing, but I also understand the fans that want to see them cover Bleed.
@@jmentone Yeah, listening to the Futures session now and forgot just how magical that album was. Really I love all of their albums but who knows maybe 2021 we could get some more of their older albums like this.
@@skepticalbadger has Jim or the other members of the band talked about why they chose the three three they did? I know that Jim on the Washed Up Emo podcast has talked about the extent to which Static was a transitional album that had no business being on a major label so that's what's led me to believe they aren't that fond of it.
@@fivestatedrive increeeeeeeedibly late reply, but I remember seeing in an interview somewhere that they said they had three sessions planned, and wanted to do Surviving, as it was the newest release and their first real opportunity to show it off 'live', they wanted to do Clarity as it was a fan favourite, and then they picked Futures as it was something a bit different that they hadn't performed all that much in recent years (obviously since then they've done a lot of Futures as part of the 20th anniversary stuff). I'm hopeful that at some point in the future we might get another set of these - Bleed American, Chase This Light and Static Prevails would be great!
Wow, that was amazing.... I was introduced to Static Prevails RIGHT before Clarity came out, so I was ready when Clarity hit... I mean... so ready. It has been a staple in my collection since its release, as has so much of Jimmy Eat World's discography. I can remember when they played a couple of years ago at the Almost Acoustic Christmas (2019) and the crowd freaked out... It was like the collective realized, "wait, we know ALL of these songs!" My wife and I were looking at each other, "wait, how does every person here know all of the words?!?!?!" And, it wasn't just the songs from the radio! Just shows the impact of their music. We've seen them various places over the years (small venues and larger), so it was a highlight and were grinning from ear to ear.
I can see why this is Mark Hoppus’ favorite JEW album and why he raves about it so much.
because Mark is a fuckin BOSS and real recognizes real

@@jmentone Yeah, listening to the Futures session now and forgot just how magical that album was. Really I love all of their albums but who knows maybe 2021 we could get some more of their older albums like this.
This is so great. I really wish Static Prevails could get this treatment too though I understand why the band isn't as fond of it as I am.
I don't think it's anything to do with fondness. Bleed American didn't get this treatment either.
@@skepticalbadger has Jim or the other members of the band talked about why they chose the three three they did?
I know that Jim on the Washed Up Emo podcast has talked about the extent to which Static was a transitional album that had no business being on a major label so that's what's led me to believe they aren't that fond of it.
I love that album!
God blister sounds fucking GREAT man.
This performance of Ten won't be topped methinks
Jimmy is the best 🤘but you have to listen to “ Winding Road “ by SLT 🔥🎧🔥 … You are missing out 🤘 -//- !!! !!! !!!
This album completely ruled Blue Springs High School in Kansas City - everyone I knew absolutely loved it. Amazing hearing it live :)
This album is a whole different level of perfection.
Whoa. 1998 art class just called me. I've been listening to this album forever but this release really brings me back!

YEP.....why do I get emotional watching this?
Masterpiece!!!
Clarity is one of the greatest albums of the 20th century
Jim' s voice sounds amazing here
Yup, still remember every word
