I read the book. I prefer the movie. The book, which was written by the dude (Frank Abagnale Jr) or at least ghost written, makes him appear to be such a huge scumbag. He's like a sociopath. After reading the book I still can't believe the FBI let him out.

Abignale is an even bigger scumbag than you realize. Everything in the book is a lie. Several journalists tried to independently verify his claims, and there is not a shred of evidence to support any of them. In fact, what evidence they did find reveals he was nothing more than a petty criminal who was in jail during the years he claims he was jetting around the globe pulling off world class cons.

I mean he lied about _everything._ His biography, which this movie is based on, belongs in the fiction section since nothing in it is true. Fact is, he was a small time crook who was in jail during the time he claimed to be traveling the world and pulling off big time cons.

      "Go fuck yourself!"
I mean, not you. I mean thats the actual joke. Earlier in the movie Carl's partners were complaining that he is too serious with his job, to which Carl replies:
"Well would you like to hear me tell a joke?"
      "Yeah, sure" they replied
      "Knock, knock"
      "Who's there?"
      "Go fuck yourselves"
In this scene they cut before the punchline because its pretty obvious what it will be: Carl telling his boss to go fuck himself.
