This clip skips an important part of the scene where it zooms out of Frank’s room it shows he’s actually in the room he said he was in.
Course he left right after the phone call
I think most people watching this scene knew that. ;)
The Point Is... The Editing Has These Breviated Videos All Wrong. Seinfeld Same Thing. They're Cutting Out The Whole Point Of The Scene.. Why Provide A Video In The First Place? Makes Zero Sense.

Call cawl?

Actually, t'was a sad moment.
the parallelism between both characters here is great cinematography. sure he doesn't have anyone to call cause he's lonely but then you look at the other side. Enough Said.
Carl chose loneliness. Frank never had a choice.
@@shadowknight1121took the words out my mouth 🙏🏾
Carl has long accepted that fact that he's a lonely man because he knows he was the route cause of that loneliness however Frank was much younger and couldn't accept his reality.
@@shadowknight1121 Just because he was alone, it does not mean he was lonely.
@@henrypeters5291 he didn’t seem to care though.
carl laughing and having a "this made my day" after hanging up is the peak example of how as human beings we instantly become happy when someone we dislike is having a worse time than us

“No one else to call” says the man in a office by himself lol
...who's working a night shift on Christmas
@@amertube5467 He doesn't seem depressed being alone though, does he?
@@KainRazielMT That's my point. He is in the office BY HIMSELF because it's Christmas and he is working when everyone is away. If he was all alone at the park with nobody to talk to, then it would be fair to say he ain't any better than Frank
Not the point. It's bothering Frank but not him.
@@amertube5467doesn't change the fact that it's Frank that is calling
I love Leo's eyes filled with loneliness in this scene. After all that happens, still he was just a boy who need mindful care at Christmas.
I really like 1:47 - 1:59 when Carl explains about Vegas and how the house always wins. That's a metaphor Frank understands completely and you can see his reaction changes. He knows Carl's right - he will eventually be caught. Great work by both Hanks and DiCaprio here.
I could picture Batman and Joker having a conversation similar to this.
that's exactly what my mind went to too. Antagonists and protagonists that share a complex but close bond always make the best duos. Boyd Crowder and Raylan Givens from Justified is another great example.
One of the best movies ever!!
Like 50% of this movie never happened, but it was still a great movie.
More than 50%!
2:24 When you’re alone on Christmas but find one little thing to bring you joy lol
This is very beautiful scriptwriting omg!
Carl didn't have anyone else to call either. he's just been alone for longer so he's used to it
Sounds like something the joker would say to batman. "You have got no one left to chase 😂😂😂😂"
Damn man they don't make movies like that anymore it's really sad ..
sadly almost all movies after early 2000's are garbage.
Because woke culture took over and ruined film
@@akthamm4176 same goes for music really thought there were a few outliers up to like 2010/11
sure they do they're just rare or foreign. if you don't mind subtitles try out "Who Am I" it's also got white collar crime and deception.
They say misery loves company, and loneliness only makes it more so.
Great relationship
Aren't they cute together? Alone on Christmas.

I can relate to tom hanks charcter at this point
“Ppl only know what u tell them Carl..”
the truth always hurts
this scene makes me laugh

*Steven Spielberg:* How did you know I wouldn't look into your past and find out it was all fake?
*Frank Abagnale:* The same reason the Yankees always win -- nobody can keeps their eyes off the pinstripes.
Interesting.
Like how Carl looks around at 0:11. He is not seeking for help, but making sure there isn't anyone else would know this call from a notorious wanted criminal. Carl has a private part for Frank already.
vous vous en remettrez
j'ai rien dit encore
A lot of people compare this to Batman and Joker, but they’ll put Batman in the position of Frank. I feel like Batman is in Carl’s position. It’s not “you have no ones else to chase” from the Joker, it’s “You have no one else who cares about you” from the Batman
of course he was talking about his father
Recognize the song?
looks like both of them are lonely
Wait, he knew it was him???
free work😂
What song is Hanratty singing to at the end of the scene?
Is it mele kalikamaka bing Crosby?! ( I think)
@angelaandersons7918 is correct. It's Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas) by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters
Darude - Sandstorm
He can call his dad and mom 😂
no he cant
0:57 - 1:08 He could've called to find out.
Just 38 views???
What pen use?
Wish I'll catch those young anonymous people who costing whole mess yet they don't care like that pretty boy. I'm with Woody.
questions ?
I cannot believe this was real and thought it was just make believe & not real but it it's based on true events?? Still seems like a simple made up story lol
They edited or changed a few facts,. But in essence its still the same
The real Abergnale may have embellished and made up quite a lot of it. It's based on a true story as much as the source material, his book, can be trusted
Is this considered a Christmas movie?

Sadly
Makes you wonder why he didn't call his father.
"You do NOT feel sorry for me."
Hm... you can interpret this line in more than one way. I wonder if Carl was telling Frank either a) "I don't believe you're actually sorry" or b) "I don't want your pity, so stop apologizing"
After he said it's mathmetical fact i think frank should have said "only thing that has 100 percent odd is death carl"
Onlyfans women be like:
I want my money.
Do you want yours, … ?
Was frank going to turn himself in had Carl not insulted him like that? We see he’s in room 3113, but was he making a point by continuing to embarrass Carl like how he embarrassed the bully in French class? Because of the ridicule?
why the criminal always was calling to the policeman?
It's easily created drama
Have a blessed year everyone 😊 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever belives in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
God bless Americ- uh, I mean Jesus.
Are you aware that God and Jesus have their roots in egyptian religion? In fact, it's almost an exact replica of the egyptian religion; their worship of the sun and stars misinterpreted and methaphorized.

I really miss the golden era of Hollywood. Now, Hollywood is ruined by the woke mob.
2002 was the Golden Era of Hollywood??? Are you serious? How old are you? The Golden Era of Hollywood was peaking in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Maybey a bit of the 1960s. By the 1970s we entered the summer blockbuster mentality that persists today.
@@John-ct9zsThe golden era was everything after the Hayes Code up until it ended.
It wasn't even the golden era but there were still a lot of good movies. Definitely unlike today
@@John-ct9zslol nah grandpa those movies are ancient and by no means the golden era. The best era of movies were from the 80s until the early 2000s. Lots of great IPs, great acting and great writing. I agree that the woke mafia has ruined everything in recent years. By far the worst era of filmmaking to date.
@@smellypatel5272I wasn't even around for most of the 80s, but I know my film history. Whose the grandpa now? Golden era of Hollywood wasn't the 1980s or 90s, or 2000s. It was way, way back....1930s and 40s.
