man, I'm from Brazil and I really wanted to see the test of a xmaxx stock being driven in a skate park and bashing without pity, to see how durable it is, because many videos show the car but almost all of them have upgrades, or those that don't, they don't ride with that skill and without fear of breaking something. Here in my country a car like that costs a lot, A LOT!! and the video helped me decide to buy it. Thanks Kevin, for the dissemination of the material, I'm sure it helped a lot of people to demystify xmaxx in its stock out of the box condition.

They upgrade cause Traxxas won't give them free shit if they break a car during a video...... Buy an exb arrma, put your own electronics in it, Traxxas limits there vehicles above 3s to suit there own batteries, ESC, and engines. Can't even put another ESC in xmaxx without buying hardware to move it, same with sledge and xrt.... They keep it simple as Traxxas is a beginner brand

It's hands down the best rc car I own I have about 20 You might want to star with a maxx though See if you're really into the hobby first And since it's just a smaller version it gives you a good idea of what to expect for half the price Plus it's a little easier to learn doing back flips and stuff I own both of them and they are both great rc cars

Stock gearing or even 16 tooth pinion are great for all around speed bashing.. the truck is very tough.
Went airborne too many times by accident and it hold up good..
But definitely needs the hardened steel spur and pinion.

I have the same color Xmaxx, but I used a blue roof protector. One thing you want to do is make sure the wires from the ESC to the motor are fully connected. Mine had some significant exposed metal threatening to short. Looks like yours has similar issue, but not as bad.

I thought the same thing…. But I saved up for months and cut out buying things I didn’t really need. I quit smoking and saved a lot of money and was able to get one. I’m so glad I did, my son and I love it and it gets me outside more often. Never say never, if you really want one you can make it happen.

I'm mainly into vintage RC from the 80s and early 90's but every time I watch one of your video's about the Xmaxx I'm so tempted to go out and buy one of these. When is Traxxas going to hire you as their official crash and bash tester LOL...?
Buy one, you will not regret it. I was out of the hobby since 2004 and decided to get one last year for myself for Christmas. I am having a blast with it. The Xmaxx really gets the blood pumping.

I'm trying to get the Traxxas Max v2 for Christmas I'm hoping to get it because I'm going to do some tricks I also I want to join you guys one day you're awesome you're my inspiration to get into the hobby thank you for the content
The later versions also have upgraded hub carriers all around as well as the bigger bearings, I grabbed the solar flare and it had these upgrades out of the box

Took a break from the x maxx platform for awhile, just got a new one to try with some m2c goodies. It's not a durable platform for my kind of driving stock, but it's such a fun truck I love the monster truck handling. Nice change from my almost all truggy collection!

@@markcumming8849 Yes, in Texas we have AC and it is almost a necessity. I know it is a relatively recent addition to humanity but since we are used to it, we rely on it. On occasion we lose power due to overload of the grid and we all get to go do some unintentional camping. I do feel for y’all over there with abnormal heat and no chill box.

This is the best 1/16 Monstertruck : HBX 16889A Pro 1/16 . Its really good.
The 1/10 Maxx is a shrunken down xmaxx and is more durable out of the box (I own both)
16th scale is the stampede but it isn't durable so I guess not

Really cool using the rc to trail Mitch on the bike. Makes for some cool footage. Xmaxx is still the first rc broken every outting with my group lol. Noto is a beast
I agree. He said “nothing broken” but clearly broke his driveline and pinion. No hate just shocked that so many think the xmaxx is the best truck. My notorious v5 and outcast exb are far better bash/stunt trucks. I sold my xmaxx and used the money to buy more m2c and scorched upgrades for my 6S arrma rigs. They’re more fun to me.

This is an awesome rc for sure! In my opinion the HPI savage is the true basher king, it has been for ages and will continue to be. The xmaxx is a close second and certainly an RC that I would be very interested in trying. But the savage is the true OG basher!!!!!

Bent driveshaft can serve as an early detection alert system for other people nearby. Kevin should be required to have bent ones on everything. Kevin is clearly based and is like my overseas brother from another mother.
