The bug for Ruego is at least fixed now on PC (not sure about console). It was a bummer only getting Blood Pact maybe twice in my NG+ all penances playthrough, but it’s working as normal again with the latest patch.
So wait u have to play the game all over again killing all the bosses plus the new ones? If so, i may not get it. I don't have time to gruel through the game again. It was long the first time lol...but other things in my life have come up making me more busy now.
i like that you get fully reset when you start the challenges, why would I start a hardmode with all modifiers just to one shot stuff right from the start, there would also be no point to push through 70% of the map to obtain the weapons, points and abilities ... we want to suffer not to zoom to bosses xD
I wonder if they fixed the soundtrack for PS4. Sometimes when going through the game the music just cuts out. Also the fight with Odon is sometimes just silent. No music, no sounds from Odon. It was immersion breaking. Still PLATINUMED though.
I used a completed game to play the DLC and that was a nice way to get the content without running into a roadblock because I didn't have an ability. They've weaved it into the game though so starting a new game and playing it that way would also feel pretty natural, you'll just end up needing to play through the whole game again to see everything in the DLC.
The rule for video game bosses is always giant boss = easy, human size boss = hardest thing you've fought in your entire life. Maybe this time we get the giant boss first.
They do this because usually the final phase of any character is a big spectacle. It'd be kind of annoying for a player to get to the big spectacle and then be stuck right at the end because it's a hard boss that they may not like. It makes a lot more sense for them to do things the way you mentioned, where at least if you get stuck then it's not the complete end, and you can enjoy the experience of the spectacle and climax of the story without having to focus more on the controls of the game because it's too frustrating. It's like a victory lap.
Just finish my NG+ with all challenges active, and man was hard as hell, I suffered the entire playthrough, is so unbalanced, or maybe I suck at the game, but at the end you get 5 rewards, 3 figuries, 1 prayer and 1 song? (I don't know how are translated in english, sorry), but yeah, the fact that you kept only the queribins for the NG+ really sucks, I got one-shoted so many times by random enemies and bosses that I can't even count them, the dlc was awsome anyways, and I also miss the pixel art cutscenes, this new ones look out of place
The first game is the vastly superior experience. Let be explain for all those attacking me for having an opinion/preference. The first game has a much darker tone and is much more cohesively designed. Esthetically, the game looks less cartoony and more muted/gritty, which matches the themes. The lore and story were more interesting, as were the NPCs and the side quests. Several of which offered choices and required multiple playrhroughs to complete. Dungeons and exploration were much less linear, and traveling around the map felt more like a journey. The cut scenes were better produced, as the animation in the sequel doesn't match the tone of the game. The combat was more about learning enemy timing, parrying, movement, and skill management. The sequel gave us a more rock, paper, scissors format with the different weapons. There are some great boss battles in the sequel, but the first had much more spectacle and memorable moments. The first game includes cosmetics, a bonus 8-bit level, a crossover quest line with Bloodstained, a true New Game+ mode, multiple endings that were actually challenging and interesting to obtain (versus just equipping an item), and skill based gameplay. They're both great games from a very talented development team, but as a sequel, it should be a step forward, and it feels more like a step sideways.
@@NWAP1337I’m mixed, while I agree the lore of the first game definitely won and I feel I liked the world of 2 more as it felt a bit less… churchy if that makes sense.
*Sighs* I picked this one up a while ago, scrapped my old file and started from scratch. I really appreciate the new changes, and new enemies...but I still feel like they just cant get balancing right with this one, and it never feels like the prayer beads do all that much to protect from incoming damage. Its also such a mess of a game, warping to areas back and forth, always forgetting what's what, since nothing feels as intricate the the first game, though, the new map+ markers arent bad. I fought Eviterno a bit ago and got reminded why he's still the og game's biggest bs boss, to the point I just wanted to give up. Even with all the positives, I almost cant be bothered. The mechanics of Blasphemous 2 are imo better than the first game, but other than that, I think everything is still worse; more forgettable zones with more forgettable tracks, NPCs that arent as good as the first game's, a confusing narrative, and a mixed messy bag of traversal for 100%. I want to get to that NG+ everyone seems to be complaining about. Like I initially said, this game has a long way to go before/if it can rival the overall quality of the first. Some seems to like this more than the og, but nah
@@ridleyrage5283 When it comes to not being able to beat Eviterno, I think you should know that that’s a you thing lol, definitely tough but I don’t think it’s bs. A lot of the points you made though are why I also felt like this game fell a bit short of my expectations. As for the zones and tracks being forgettable, I couldn’t disagree more, I’d actually say they go to a lot of trouble making the zones in particular very recognizable amongst each other, which I think can actually be viewed as a bit of a negative too since it leads to the world feeling less interconnected. You’re so right with the NPCs though, apart from a couple of decent voice performances, nothing in the game really sells the characters to me and convinces me, unlike the first game which I felt had a wide roster of memorable NPCs and voiced characters (I still miss Deogracias). Here’s hoping any future updates can sway our opinions towards a more positive light, cause at the moment I think this expansion might’ve done more harm for me than good
Yeah, the mode is fun! I’m used to NG+ carrying stuff over, and Blasphemous 1 happened to do that plus a bunch of other cool stuff, so it just really clashed with expectations and provided something that is cool, but less cool than what I was hoping for.
@LoreHunter just a question, I have a 100% file in Blasphemous 2 and I Ask, what would be better? 1) making an entire new save file from the beggining to do the dlc 2) or doing It in ng plus And how did You do it too?
ng+ that doesn't carry anything other than the rewrds of completing the ng+ is always bad, the first game ng+ was the norm in the games only the penitencias rewards was something extra, imagine dark souls but ng+ resets all your lv and itens, is ridiculous bad
Did anyone else just randomly lose the Mea Culpa after getting it? I had it for a while and was going to find the evil penitent clones for that room after Asterion and in-between the Ruego Al Alba one and the Veridicto one I just randomly lost the Mea Culpa. It's still in my inventory, I just can't swap to it and now I can't get past some of the gold thorns and can't even get the dlc ending. Does anyone have any ideas what this is?
I'm also disappointed with the NG+ mode, to me it isn't a New Game Plus, it's a New Game with added difficulty modifiers, whether that is a plus or not? Well I would say that is down the personal interpretation, but not for me. Nothing carrying over at all in a NG+ is gaming Blasphemy.

So wait u have to play the game all over again killing all the bosses plus the new ones? If so, i may not get it. I don't have time to gruel through the game again. It was long the first time lol...but other things in my life have come up making me more busy now.
You can play the new content from a completed file, you don’t have to start over.
@@LoreHunter oh ok cool. That's good news for me!
i like that you get fully reset when you start the challenges, why would I start a hardmode with all modifiers just to one shot stuff right from the start, there would also be no point to push through 70% of the map to obtain the weapons, points and abilities ... we want to suffer not to zoom to bosses xD
I wonder if they fixed the soundtrack for PS4. Sometimes when going through the game the music just cuts out. Also the fight with Odon is sometimes just silent. No music, no sounds from Odon. It was immersion breaking. Still PLATINUMED though.
Would you recommend starting a new game?
I used a completed game to play the DLC and that was a nice way to get the content without running into a roadblock because I didn't have an ability. They've weaved it into the game though so starting a new game and playing it that way would also feel pretty natural, you'll just end up needing to play through the whole game again to see everything in the DLC.
@@LoreHunterso the dlc starts off where the base game ends or where are the 2 new areas and 2 new bosses??
Predicting a humanoid penultimate boss that's very very hard comapred to everything else and then a final boss that's not that hard
Depends on what you want from a game though. I like both, but I find Blasphemous 2 to be much more playable
@oneish7454 They're both great games, but the first has a better story, atmosphere, NPCs, side quests, locations, cut scenes, bosses, and content.
I think you'll be pretty happy with the story in the Mea Culpa DLC.
@@NWAP1337I’m mixed, while I agree the lore of the first game definitely won and I feel I liked the world of 2 more as it felt a bit less… churchy if that makes sense.
@pawnpure123 That's fair
Here’s hoping any future updates can sway our opinions towards a more positive light, cause at the moment I think this expansion might’ve done more harm for me than good
Apparently the little cherub guys carry over to new game plus
They do not
@@VorpalTiger they did for me, guess that was a glitch then
no skins? :(
No skins or filters : (
@@Molderche6495 :(
I'll gladly expect the free dlc for now as I haven't even beaten the first Blasphemous yet,so I'll just wait to purchase the paid dlc.....
New game plus makes no actual sense. It is not a new game plus. It is just hard mode
Yeah, the ng plus is not really bad is just that the first one set the bar high.
That is all Blasphemous 2 problems in general though
Yeah, the mode is fun! I’m used to NG+ carrying stuff over, and Blasphemous 1 happened to do that plus a bunch of other cool stuff, so it just really clashed with expectations and provided something that is cool, but less cool than what I was hoping for.
@LoreHunter just a question, I have a 100% file in Blasphemous 2 and I Ask, what would be better?
1) making an entire new save file from the beggining to do the dlc
2) or doing It in ng plus
And how did You do it too?
ng+ that doesn't carry anything other than the rewrds of completing the ng+ is always bad, the first game ng+ was the norm in the games only the penitencias rewards was something extra, imagine dark souls but ng+ resets all your lv and itens, is ridiculous bad
What a disappointing new game plus. Ughhh. I doubt I'll play it.

It's not that deep
Just bought the dlc and can't Access it. True penance begins
So jealous
I kimda like the idea of starting over while NG+. It's the *TRUEST DEFINITION* just get good.
the way TPO wielding Mea Culpa just disappointed me.
So you’re not able to hold left bumper and switch from Ruego to Mea Culpa?
@LoreHunter maybe? I'll check it later but I probably did that and didn't notice, but I tried every button I could think of
I'm also disappointed with the NG+ mode, to me it isn't a New Game Plus, it's a New Game with added difficulty modifiers, whether that is a plus or not? Well I would say that is down the personal interpretation, but not for me. Nothing carrying over at all in a NG+ is gaming Blasphemy.
