And the metroidvania genre in general is so dominated by indie devs that talking about "dei bullshit" or "mainstream" being a problem is absolute nonsense.

Hopefully the potential second DLC gives us that Wounds of Eventide style climatic ending while also giving us a harder version of Incarnate Devotion.

Man, I genuinely feel bad for the Incarnate Devotion. Born suddenly into a world of suffering that he had to bear and forced into a role he didn't ask for, this ending is the only one where he is treated with dignity thanks to the Penitent and Crisanta's actions. And through this, the latter is also rewarded with rest. (And because of Anunciada's selfless sacrifice, that afterlife might be legit.) This does also make me wonder what the Miracle truly is. Cause it seems to function as a Demiurge to the Throne that Anunciada mentioned. An entity/force that can only spawn forth mistakes and monsters.
What is mistake? If anything it is alien as it can reward as well as punish and martyrdom of Cvstodia seems to encourage such acts? It is expected to be fickle and unknowable so it is.

I was a little upset that penitent one didn’t go to heaven with crisanta But than I realized that maybe he didn’t when on his Journey to go to heaven but instead end other people’s suffering and help the needed ones To him she deserves to go to heaven and for him …. Imho, both ascended to Heavens. Chrysanta to literal Heavens, where she finally gets what she deserved for her service, while Penitent One finally freed himself from his Culpa. In Ending A (I'm speaking by memory now, can be wrong) Penitent one fused with Child of Miracle and become some kind of defender of humanity, yet, causing Miracle happens more and more. In Ending B he goes to Heaven, leaving all people behinds, acting egoistical. In Ending C he sacrifices his chance to ascend to Heavens and allows Chrysanta go there, while he continues to live on Earth. Yet, he put off his helmet he wore as the punishment. Maybe, in the past he acted egoistical, which born his Culpa inside him and his desire to repent through pain and that's how he become Penitent one. UPD: I've mistaken A and B endings. Rewatched endings. In Fusing ending he continues the age of Miracle and suffering, acted like Escobar, egoistical and prideful. In go to Heavens ending he ends the age of Miracle and suffering, freeing people from that obsession by Miracle. In C ending he saves Chrysanta and let her to go there instead him, saving both his and her souls. In post-credit scene we see Escobar showing life signs, (theory part) so he can return in third game as main antagonist that trying to restore the age of Miracle. Penitent one can return as protagonist. Technically, whole Church of Miracle is Escobar's usurpation of Miracle and religion as right to rule. And ambition to ascend.

I wonder if they will do another DLC following this part on. In the first game, the Laudes DLC (Styr of dawn) was hinted with the glass coffin shattering just like we saw here. Also, we have little information about this main boss, his possible order of penance and even his motivations (despite the dialogues hinting something).
He allowed Crisanta to kill Incarnate Devotion, and thus let her take his place in Heaven. He then discarded Mea Culpa and his helmet, possibly hinting his penance was over, and can now keep on living.

If it has an ending to allow the final boss to survive and live to see the world and love the world without any higher being manipulation. This would be good.
Blapshemous 2 is now just as good as the original Blasphemous game with the dlc and update. The best metroidvania aside from Hollow Knight. Looking forward to what comes next!
Omg..the first boss absolutely sent down a chill down my spine. They absolutely nailed delivering that unique eerie feeling for every boss in this game, but the nun one is in its own league...or maybe I just watched too much of The Nun.
For me bosses in blasphemous were heavily similar to dark souls and medieval chronicles throughout history, like the first boss nun, it screams pure 15th century vibes the nun is so focused on praying that she doesn't even care if she has to fight the penitent one, all she cares is praying even when deceased, because of how dark and tragic life is, it's really tragic yet badass.
So is Crisanta now the one being ascended to the Eternal Canvas of Light and Time? Yet it seems it’s not the true ending quite yet. Just a feeling since it just shows the removal of the helmet and the Mea Culpa plunged in the sands. That implies the Miracle isn’t done, doesn’t it?
Team 17: Alright, lets make a cult-ish kind of boss. Staff: How would it attack though? it looks plain and simple if the boss just attack with regular arm swings. Team 17: How about we detach the arms instead? it saves us the animation hassle and it looks creepy. it perfectly fits the lore of this game Staff: Absolute genius! Games like this require hours of play to remember everything about the game/bosses. That's the only way to play it to perfection because everything happens the same. That's an extremely old game concept that's really just frustration and a bore in today's gaming venue. Not the way I would develop any game nowadays.
Ending the vhild of the miracle. A being that well..has been forced to exist for vile means... the one who does it as part of penace properly becomes a Saint and goes to heaven. But mea culpa allowed Christina to manifest and ascend through its power. Because her sacrifice awoke the penitent one
Not really impressed with the bosses on this one. Was this more of a DLC to the game? Because only the first boss was visually impressive and presented more of a challenge, then it just went the human sized bosses with repetitive easy to dodge attacks that presented no chanllenge.

Sinodo, Svsona and Sister here are all extremely easy. all they are is a big target to wail on, and no matter what list you take on the best boss fights, a human boss is undoubtably gonna be on top, Like Isidora and Eviterno.

Moveset comes first., putting down a boss on my first rodeo always hurts the likeability of the boss for me, the biggest offender of this being Exposito, the moment you get past his grotesque appearance, he's an extremely easy boss, a bit too easy for a late game boss, however, Quirce was much more memorable with his moveset, I apply the same logic here. It's also why I really like the duel with Brother Asterion with the mea culpa more.
All bosses in this game is so easy, just hate the "weapon-bosses"... Would have been so much better if those were left out of the game, both lore-wise and gameplay-wise! Great vid though!

He really was trying his best. My guess is, this was the first time he was doing this, and he was super-excited.

That's an extremely old game concept that's really just frustration and a bore in today's gaming venue. Not the way I would develop any game nowadays.

Not really impressed with the bosses on this one.
Was this more of a DLC to the game? Because only the first boss was visually impressive and presented more of a challenge, then it just went the human sized bosses with repetitive easy to dodge attacks that presented no chanllenge.
Human bosses are always the best bosses in the blasphemous games. The Big ones are all style and no stuff.

One of the bosses was just running back and forth spinning a ball around his head and all Gellot had to do was slide under him to dodge the attack and counter him.
@@Church-of-Tingyun I don't know what you are smoking, but for most people, The Human bosses are the most difficult, Crisanta, Isidora, Eviterno, Odon and Brother Asterion here, and ain't no way your only arguement is a mini boss that doesn't even have a boss health bar. also how is any big boss hard? Sinodo, Svsona and Sister here are all extremely easy. all they are is a big target to wail on, and no matter what list you take on the best boss fights, a human boss is undoubtably gonna be on top, Like Isidora and Eviterno.

But not all of them were difficult, plus I really love how much visually pleasing the giant bosses are, especially in the first game and was just disappointed there wasn't more of that in this one.
@Akaihimes-subordinate you and I prefer different things so let's just call it a day here. To me. Moveset comes first., putting down a boss on my first rodeo always hurts the likeability of the boss for me, the biggest offender of this being Exposito, the moment you get past his grotesque appearance, he's an extremely easy boss, a bit too easy for a late game boss, however, Quirce was much more memorable with his moveset, I apply the same logic here. It's also why I really like the duel with Brother Asterion with the mea culpa more.

All bosses in this game is so easy, just hate the "weapon-bosses"... Would have been so much better if those were left out of the game, both lore-wise and gameplay-wise!

Probably Ending C... for now. I'm pretty sure we're gonna get another DLC and then we will get a true ending.

Why is the first boss called Mater Priora onscreen? Is it a localisation thing?
i remember when asterion kill penitent one after defeating the nun boss, i though it was gonna be ending credit scene and think what do i miss to get killed like this, then the small angel come to revive him back and the game continues hahahah 6:04
The first Blasphemous was a decent game with charisma and good design, this secon chapter is a mess with 0 charisma.
I thought you had to hit the hands to expose the core on that first boss 😓
I made it so much harder for myself
