when i first saw it i was like "THAT'S AWESOME!" when you opened it i was like "that's weird but cool..." when the review ended i was like "WTF were you thinking InWin?!"
You guys are the #1 place I go for PC case reviews! I'm sure I've said this before but your videos are brilliantly elegant and professional looking! Keep it up :)
I love the look of the aluminum & real glass! The hot swappable drive bays, SSD mounting brackets, and sleeved cables are about all they got right in the interior! I have a Crosshair V Formula mother board, which is E-ATX. They made the gap between the I/O & back cover 70cm. If it was 85cm, you could mount a H-80 radiator behind the cover & out of sight.Even then, I would like a lot more airflow. I could go on, but my point is: If they fix the interior & keep the exterior, I would buy one. Even at their $280 price point. This is the 1st InWin case I've ever really liked. I hope they can get it together! Thanks Demetre for the reviews. Keep up the good work.
I saw this case at Microcenter about a month ago. My jaw dropped immediately and my girlfriend walked me out of the store just as fast. I was close to just throwing money at the workers there. haha Awesome case!
Great review your videos are some of the best quality on TH-cam. Regarding this case, what's it like from a sound point of view? Does it mask the sound well?
So many comments hating on the case's lack of functionality, when in reality, many PC builders like myself see it as a challenge. I'm not some yuppie PC builder who's afraid to use a drill and respray the interior. I think the design is helplessly beautiful, and while the manufacturer could have made a few functionality choices better, I don't see how any of them can't be overcome Only thing I would worry about is the temps of my GTX 970
svfutbol20 In my 904 case I have a EVGA GTX 980 S/C ac 2.0 GPU and with no water cooling (yet). I play a heavily modded Skyrim and the NZXT CAM software tells me that my GPU temps get up to 65 degrees Celsius (about 149 degrees Fahrenheit). That's with a 120mm Corsair intake fan and a 90mm exhaust fan. I will be installing a 140mm rad water cooler on the GPU soon.
svfutbol20 I !00% agree! I'm pretty new to PC building but I love it. I have a 904 and a 904 plus that I have been modding. I'm a Machinist by trade so computer mods are a lot of fun for me. Today I got some .080 aluminum sheet and ordered 4 140mm fans a 90mm fan a Alphacool NexXxoS st30 Full Copper Dual 140mm Radiator and a XSPC raystorm cpu block with a XSPC D5 Photon 170 Res & D5 vario pump combo.I'm running a Asus Z97 Deluxe mother board, Asus Essence STX 2 audio card and an ok EVGA 660 GTX TI video card. I am redesigning the whole inside of my 904 plus case to fit everything nicely inside, no radiators or fans hanging off the back of it. Its going to take a bit of welding and grinding to get it all in there and looking good but I'm looking forward to the challenge. It's definitely a plus to have a complete machine shop to do pretty much any metal mods I need, I love it! I only wish I learned more about computers when I was younger. I spend a lot of time reading and learning about them and building computers are a lot cheaper than building a car or bike. Good luck everyone!
caddy52 & to everyone else, Have you seen the new InWin 909 full tower case yet? Think 904 but larger and more thought out. HardwareCanucks have a video showing it on TH-cam.
Hey RedEye,I watched it yesterday and almost started crying lol, what a nice job In Win did. I just spent almost $600 on water cooling parts etc for my 904 Plus and the 909 has it all.So I thought about it for a min and realized that even if I had the 909 I'd just start ripping that apart and changing stuff so Im gonna continue on with my plan. I also have a regular 904 that ive been playing with it had a Corsair H80I mounted inside and it looked and worked great. Like I said I'm really new to computers and mods,Like not even 2 years new. So I keep learning and coming up with ideas and I'm constantly changing stuff. I have enough parts to build 3 or 4 complete high end systems and all I really use a computer for is reading about computers, news and music. I have a buddy thats a computer guy that thinks im nuts, I know I dont need 32 gb's of ram but why not? go big or go home!
RedEye Jedi RedEye, What are your plans for the 140 rad? placement etc.Why just the GPU? What rad are you using? I'm waiting on a Alphacool NexXxoS st30 Full Copper Dual 140mm rad,I should have it Monday. I don't want to start cutting and welding till its in hand. Any thoughts on this rad? I did a lot of research and decided on the Alpha cool but I just don't know enough about water cooling etc. Thanks for any info you can send my way on your build or mine it is very much appreciated!
I like the aesthetics of the case, it would look nice anywhere you put it. But the internal layout leaves much to be desired. Thanks for the detailed look at this case, keep the great videos coming. Hope Inwin, watches this video and takes some notes.
Yes I would really love to see more functionality features in this case very soon like more air intake and increase in the interior space. I would like to end by saying that there is no doubt that the case is extremely beautiful and looks elegant.
Dmitry, what is the equivalent of this case nowadays? I think they don't make it anymore, do they? What's the closest when it comes to its fantastic aesthetic design?

Oh well that sucks - I can still get it where I live (lucky me I guess). That other case does look nice though! Definitely not as pretty, but seems to be more performance oriented rather than design.
Unfortunately it's still not really similar enough for me to want it, it doesn't have the complete brushed aluminium outer body and glass windows, looks as if this is the only case with those features. It's a shame, because if only it didn't cost so much and was designed in a more practical sense, I would have bought one.
If I ever own a design firm, architectural or industrial, this will be the kind of case I'll use for the office. Dmitry,I'm looking forward to the review of their smaller version of this case.
***** I like the overall design tbh. But the practically somewhat leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully with your review, they can take note and further improve it and I'd be more than happy to get one. Man they do look really good. Trust InWin to always outdo themselves in terms of case design
Is a review of the NZXT H440 coming soon? I was set on a Define R4 until I saw this case and I am in love with it. But of course I have to watch your review before buying it :)
The case looks baller. About time someone took aesthetic and materials into account It does seem very first revision though. I don't think they should put 50 million rad mounts in it but a few efficient user friendly changes could go a long way. Idea: Maybe the option of a secondary IO where the hole at the rear is where you internally mount mini IO cables to an extender board. Maybe: 6 USB 3, Hdmi, Display port, DviD, Power, Ethernet, audio. All in black and nicely bundled in the one spot. The ugliest part of a PC is the rear and any move to fix that is a move in the right direction. Kudos, InWin.
6 USB3 ports would require 3 USB3 headers on the motherboard, something I have never seen before, I'm not even sure there are many motherboards with 2. The only option would be passthrough from the rear i/o, but then you're losing out there...
Edward Hobbs This hypothetical idea is a passthrough from the rear ports on the motherboard to the "rear case ports" Think usb to usb. not usb to internal usb header. I see no issue with that.
This case is $170 on Newegg right now and has only 18 reviews. Pretty crappie case in my opinion. But outside looks night. Building a system inside looks like a accident waiting to happen.
This case does NOT have an elegant design. That would imply that IN WIN made intelligent use of space, orientation, and airflow. This case lacks severely in all three departments, and all for the sake of a pointless shroud for the rear IO? If they just ditched that idea and gave the front panel all that extra space, they could have put fan mounts behind it for proper intake. Not to mention they could have used the extra aluminum from that stupid shroud to make vents on the sides of the front panel to obscure the fans and keep the clean aesthetic. And I just don't see a reason why they couldn't cut a vent in to the bottom panel so PSUs had a vent to intake from. This case could have been amazing if they actually used their brains when designing it. When I first discovered this on Newegg, I was like "Holy shit, THIS is the one I'm swapping out my boring Carbide 200R for." Then I watched this video only to be severely disappointed. Thanks, Canucks, for saving me from buying this pretentious waste of aluminum. The search for a bad ass, mid tower aluminum case continues...
A 360 rad? That's gonna be tricky. But look up Bill Owen on TH-cam. He did a video on modding the 200r for a front 240mm radiator, with a bad ass black aluminum grill to boot. Looked pretty smexy. You could probably get some ideas for your 360 rad mod from that video.
You still looking? I finally found one I'm willing to switch to. It has a steel body unfortunately. But the entire outside is sexy aluminium though, plus it isn't designed by idiots www.quietpc.com/cooltek-jonsbo-w2
I kinda had the same thought. I got all hyped up about it from the pictures on Overclockers, but once you go in-depth you realise it's all show and no go. I've been trying to find a smart looking case to replace my NZXT Phantom 410 but haven't been able to find one as of yet. While aluminium looks amazing, I have to admit if there was a mid-tower chassis made from dry carbon fibre I would be all over that like a wet flannel. Pointless and expensive I know, but I have a soft spot for carbon fibre. Devon Clancy That's a great case, but wrong form factor. Micro-ATX is only for Micro-ATX motherboards and cannot fix standard ATX boards in there. It's the same reason why I haven't bought the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV
Initially I bought a 904 Plus due to its elegant design as one of my PC upgrades. It turned to be a frustration that the power switch was faulty, the matte black coating on the internal chassis was easily chipped off, chassis back plate serve very little purpose and hdd hotswap bays failed to detect my hdd as well as limiting the use of aircoolers that are big in size. I ended up returning the chassis to the reseller. Considered myself unfortunate to own a lemon unit. Been searching for a better chassis till now.
If InWin works out the kinks and design flaws then I'm interested. Better cable management and air intake is a must. Maybe an option not to have tinted glass would be nice. This chassis would be perfect for watercooling.
Taking another look at this after seeing it one someones desk on their blog. Looks so damn good... I have invested way to much watercooling to fit in though. I don't expect every case to cater to me and I don't really mind the current layout. However; if InWin are listening I'd ditch my Lian Li and pay even over $300 for a water cooling ready version if it doesn't completely break the looks and size. A 360 or a 120+240 configuration would be perfect. I'd update my radiators to fit.
If you need more space go with the InWin 909. The 904 is fine for my needs plus has a bay for the media drive at the bottom which the 909 lacks. My only disappointment is the PSU that you can't slide in but it is something that you can overcome. And it will be secured once in place!
Yikes. I mean sure it's gorgeous but pretty much everything else makes you ask "What were they thinking?". Critical feedback? Just build it like every other case we are used to and slap that gorgeous glass/aluminum look on it. I don't get why this all had to be so hard and esoteric. Also who is this for? The only people willing to pay that much for a case would be an enthusiast and they wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole.
***** Rite on. As HardwareCanucks said, lots of wasted space. Definitely an awesome looking case, but why would anyone want a case so hard to work with?
When I first saw this: SO DAMN COOL, A full sized side window with a full metal case. Then when I saw it opened:( I thought. This is too difficult and so less airflow:(
I think the glass is nice but very impractical, maybe if they made it an option it would bring the price down and make it more ideal. I also think they need better fan cut outs and holes, maybe adding a 240mm radiator cutout at the top or back. They also need these on the 901 (itx version)
What about a Rosewill legacy sx2 review? :) I'm searching for a good looking case without losing performances... and after this review the inwin is out of the games :( now I'm thinking about the Rosewill or maybe a corsair obsidian..
you need that 7cm gap between the back io and the aluminium cover, because if you have a DVI to HDMI converter then plugged in your HDMI cable that alone with be 7cm. What this case really needs in 1 more fan intake. But where would you put it, As it stands this case would look amazing in a modern room out in the open. And not hidden away like most cases are. You dont see that mess of cables from the back of the IO which is a huge plus for me. (well its partially hidden)
I think it's a very nice office, but it is a pity that the design for placement of the pieces have been neglected. Design things :-| hopefully it will be available for my country
I think a smoked, tempered glass option for regular windowed, already practical cases would easily win me over. This seems too pricy for the benefit, and knowing I've let my build suffer internally wouldn't leave me feeling good about the case looking pretty on my desk.
I think anyone that wants to get this case should probably wait for a revision or a V2.0 iteration of this design. It looks pretty... but with a MSRP in that range, personally, I would expect the internal design to be more thought out and more practical. To each their own, of course, but for me it just looks too "Mac-ish" for my tastes.
I love this case. I have built a few different versions with the one I lucked out on finding. I hate that I can't slide a rom drive in the bottom. Maybe my power supply is too big? But that doesn't stop me. My motherboard doesn't work with any of the side functions either. No fans sucks but my system runs top games without overheating. It is the most beautiful case I have ever seen so I will deal with it. Take off the front glass and run dual gpus.
If this is sold as a Mini ITX case, that motherboard did not look like a Mini board. Probably would work fine with a smaller board for the 24pin connectors.
form over function. However i would probably buy version 2 if they fix the mentioned issues. Take silverstone as an example and remove the disk drive altogether I say. Then there won't be any reason to have that front corner completely exposed. i personally think the large thumbscrews on the glass ruin the clean lines. The rear panel should really have a quick disconnect feature like a latch or something instead of thumbscrews. Does the back side glass need to be transparent at all? and really it should be able to fit at least a h80i or similar 120mm clc cooler. The power supply should have the abillity to be inserted from the back.
Excellent Review! However, You are so right and I'm truly disappointed by the case's functionality which made its build process a super pain in the ass! Once again...Thanks to the camera man for great video skills..and your hard work for the review, bro! :)
I practically I think...watch most your casing review videos as I find the videos just perfectly done! Say, do u know of any other case that works the same as the HAF XB with a lie flat full ATX motherboard. The closest I've seen and do - able is the corsair Air 540 that I just custom fit in the stands on the sides and lay it down on the psu side. Any suggestions? ^_^
Hmm, good question! Like you say, AIR 540 would be the closest ATX supported case with that particular layout. Lian Li PC-V358 is similarly designed but only mATX support with 240mm rad support.
This case looked cool for a second, but then when you went more in depth I lost all interest. I've seen cases released in the early 2000's more usable than this. Just get something like the Enthoo Pro..
The airflow is terrible, you can still get good airflow and keep it beautiful. No water cooling support is near fatal with modern cases. Utilize your space! (also the tinted glass on the back is not needed at all. (cut the price down?)) As a piece of art its good, I guess but it has to be usable otherwise its useless.
A truly gorgeous case. Why have hot swappable HD's if you need to open [unscrew] the [somewhat fragile] glass panel? The drive bay only holds 1 drive [yes I still use my DVD-R] but what about a dual bay fan controller? Power switch is located way to low & also makes this a side facing case only. Seems it's all about beauty B-4 design, thus not warranting a $280. price point. I would recommend this case to someone who's not into changing out components on a regular basis and if they place aesthetics in front of convenience & price.
What would you say to me buying this and installing a 140mm radiator onto the front lower bracket for intake CPU cooling, then having a 90mm exhaust fan out the back? I don't want to mount it on the outside because of fear of damage.
Beautiful and elegant case. But WHY ? Why in a mid-tower the designers cut off extra space on back, under and above ? Just imagine, a slim opening at the front for the optical drive.Extra space for the PSU and for a bigger fan.And it wouldn't harm the looks. The HDD bays up to chassis.A little extra space gained. The new 904 plus is optimised for a bigger Power Supply but i expect some more improvements. In Win makes some extraordinary cases.
Because one of the main aspects is the unobstructed front panel, if a optical drive was there it would ruin the look, plus i don't even think there is aluminum plated DVD drives
Definitely a gorgeous looking case!
ok
big fan :)
when i first saw it i was like "THAT'S AWESOME!"
when you opened it i was like "that's weird but cool..."
when the review ended i was like "WTF were you thinking InWin?!"
I just think the same...

ahah yes I noticed how your tone changed from excited to disappointed
Pretty much every Inwin review.
this case is completely useless
You guys are the #1 place I go for PC case reviews! I'm sure I've said this before but your videos are brilliantly elegant and professional looking! Keep it up :)
A lot of form over function, It's absolutely impractical and some design choices are absolutely terrible but it does look absolutely beautiful.

at 1:54 the squares make an optical illusion, you can see little black dots between the squares
Definitely a looker. That glass looks so nice. Still good for most systems.

Great review your videos are some of the best quality on TH-cam. Regarding this case, what's it like from a sound point of view? Does it mask the sound well?
Richard Dale Well it's not very isolating, so yes, sound will leak but considering there are only two fans slots, it wont be such a big deal.
what about air flow ????
I've got the case , very hard to build but it's worth the 10hours of work .
Very functional! The best yet in 2022!
It's not about the looks, it's the performance for me.
looks great but for half of the price you'd get a bigger case that looks also very good (enthoo luxe, 750D) with lots of functionality
Whew... that rolling shutter mang! at 3:29. Not sure what you're shooting with but yeah reminds me of my Sony A6300 when I'm shooting 4K! :)
One of your nicer filmed videos, nice job.
When are we gonna see the new Inwin 905 review?
As a 904 owner (Not Plus) the motherboard connecter fits perfectly on my ATX board and i was able to hide all cables but the gpu connector.
Oh man, this is so gorgeous. Would be cool to see this up close.

It would nice to see these cases fully equipped and running to get a better feel for what can and cant be used in them.
Great review! Thank you!
There is a new In Win 904 PLUS. Can you do a video on that so we can see the changes?
great review like always!!

Yeah, I see it on their site now. Thanks! Gotta find a supplier in my area.
I agree on all of the points Hardware Canucks made in this review.
They case looks awesome, though maybe some more airflow and space for large Cpu coolers would be better, also making better cable managment cutouts
Wow, just wow. This case is GORGEOUS, thank you InWin!
Giveaway??? :D
Can anyone recommend an alternative to this case? I love the way it looks but it's so impractical.

IS THIS matx OR ATX, I want a MATX version of this even though it is a hot mess!
Не ожидал от in-win такой красоты, очень годный дизайн. Отличный обзор!
Спасибо!
+HardwareCanucks Do you actually speak Russian or is that google translate. I thought you were German.
+Spire nope, he's actually Russian.
Did IN WIN even try to make a build in this case before they released it?
Excellent review as always. I was really interested in this case after I saw some images online of it, but I can see now it isn't really for me.

I've got a 200R. I'm considering modding it to fit a 360 rad in the front and a window.
It's the same reason why I haven't bought the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV
great review. you should review the NZXT H440 next. that case looks awesome with the flexibility of options
Price tag is spot on, it's a beautiful case and you pay for it... Great review! :-D
I want a full tower version of this
Taking another look at this after seeing it one someones desk on their blog.
Is your demo fan made of wood!?
I don't think so. It looks like a 120mm fan painted with blue acrylic.
Definitely an awesome looking case, but why would anyone want a case so hard to work with?
its a pitty about the layout, the case looks amazing, but the internals let it down greatly
I got a custop loop inside of these, runs like a champ :)
joakim niclason joakim what components are you using? How about the layout? Thanks!
Will a mini atx mother board fit inside
When I first saw this: SO DAMN COOL, A full sized side window with a full metal case. Then when I saw it opened:( I thought. This is too difficult and so less airflow:(
The 904 looks nice ,Its something that you would want sitting out on your desk and not shoved in a corner underneath collecting dust.
Is there no way to route the ATX power cable round somehow?
i like the case, but I am going to a lot of LAN events. is hard to move it around?
Style over functionality sums this case up very well, could have been so much more.
Nice review!
how many hdmi slots do they have?
*sighs* you have alot to learn HDMI outputs are on the back of an video card
I know and thanks (:
Wow.
And the motherboard in some cases
I think the glass is nice but very impractical, maybe if they made it an option it would bring the price down and make it more ideal. I also think they need better fan cut outs and holes, maybe adding a 240mm radiator cutout at the top or back. They also need these on the 901 (itx version)
What about a Rosewill legacy sx2 review? :)
I'm searching for a good looking case without losing performances... and after this review the inwin is out of the games :( now I'm thinking about the Rosewill or maybe a corsair obsidian..
you need that 7cm gap between the back io and the aluminium cover, because if you have a DVI to HDMI converter then plugged in your HDMI cable that alone with be 7cm. What this case really needs in 1 more fan intake. But where would you put it, As it stands this case would look amazing in a modern room out in the open. And not hidden away like most cases are. You dont see that mess of cables from the back of the IO which is a huge plus for me. (well its partially hidden)
I agree with you about the shortcomings, but it is a damn sexy case!
I think it's a very nice office, but it is a pity that the design for placement of the pieces have been neglected. Design things :-|
hopefully it will be available for my country
I think a smoked, tempered glass option for regular windowed, already practical cases would easily win me over. This seems too pricy for the benefit, and knowing I've let my build suffer internally wouldn't leave me feeling good about the case looking pretty on my desk.
I think anyone that wants to get this case should probably wait for a revision or a V2.0 iteration of this design. It looks pretty... but with a MSRP in that range, personally, I would expect the internal design to be more thought out and more practical. To each their own, of course, but for me it just looks too "Mac-ish" for my tastes.
not into the empty space in the front. throws off the glass look?
wow this is my next case when i get bored of my current case, kinda wish i found this first to be honest
Take off the front glass and run dual gpus.
can you get rid of the tempered glass thing in the corner that looks stupid
if it's impossible to remove i'm not getting one
I like it, I like the rear panel, but I agree with the wasted space. If they improve that I would buy it
Hey I have a quick question, what do you think is the best case for quite gaming?
internal layout should come first. what good is the aesthetics if the internal functionality is crap
can i get a 2 fan cpu radiator there?
Thanks thanks :D I am the camera man too :p
Hahahah! Kudos to you and ....You then! ^_^
This case actually comes with stick on clips, if you check the accessories. Look at neweggs video for reference.
I would wait for a possible revision of the case before I would consider purchasing it.
Would buy an updated version.
What gpu is that?
I'm pretty sure it's the ASUS DirectCU II GTX 580.
***** its the asus directcu II gtx 570
that thing is awesome.. in terms of looks. in terms of actual usage i would have liked to see ALOT of other things...
Let InWin do the outer design and Corsair the internals, that would be awesome :)
I defiantly would agree looks hard to move around on the inside but very amazing looking case
Haha that case looks nice I guess but it's really bad at practical use
omfg that case looks awesome
What GPU is that? So thick. Looks like Nvidia 600 series...
Do H440! D:
If I have water cooling on this case, does in require monthly maintenance?
I would also like to see all the outside visible panels held in place via thumb screws to be replaced with magnets. It would look far better.
I agree but it's so damn pretty!
Please let me know if this case is really capable of keeping the temperature at a decent level, and especially when I'm using AMD FX 9590.
