    I have got to commend the two of you. After watching/binging on many videos as I recover from a work injury, the one thing that I have noticed about both Matt and Tristan is the respect that they have for the operation, their ability to find something to do rather than be told, and their capacity in all of this to have humility in their hearts. This is evident that Mom and Dad did a great job raising these boys.

    I don't know much about commercial fishing, but it looks like you guys are killing them. The rocking and rolling reminds me of my 13 years in the Navy and 11 years of that was on Destroyers. Stay safe out there.

    Had yellow-eye for dinner on Sunday and king salmon today (Wed), breaded with Panko, of course! Just doesn't get much better than that! Those rollers look like fun(?). It is interesting when corporations take their leadership teams out fishing for a 'team-building' exercise and half the group is sicker than dogs and the other half is laughing at them. Nice team-building!

    If all commercial cod fishing was done with hook and line we might still have Atlantic codfish.
    Sadly it made more commercial sense to trawl until there was nothing to fish for, and then everybody go home.

    Awesome day out for the first trip 👏👏 Thanks you for the video. It looked a bit raw out there with the swell. I wish you would do a video on all of the work it takes to set up on a trip out and the cost it takes to supply the boat. That way people would appreciate what it takes to be a commercial fisherman. It's great to see you back out in the water!! Stay safe out there.

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for watching Bob! We will do a breakdown on costs in a future video. This trip was quite economical as we were fishing close to home. Three hour run round trip, probably $40 or so in fuel for the day.
      We went back out a few days later to try to get on that cod. Swell was worse with a wicked sea running out of the southwest. Of course we were in the lee until 2 miles from the spot and couldn't tell how bad it was. That day was a complete wash for us, 6 hours of running and not a single fish landed. Win some lose some, haha.

      We were fishing 20- 30 fathoms. Lots of current in this spot, so short drifts and frequent repositioning. The fish are scattered along the bottom, but depth drops off fast.

    Hi Guys, just curious as to whether Tristan is not into fishing, he does not seem to have the interest or enthusiasm as Matt does. Keep up the great work guys love watching your adventures. Allan from Australia

    When you finish up the boat retrofit project, will you fish both boats, or mostly the bigger boat? I love not missed a video since I subscribed well over a year ago. I really enjoy seeing you guys work as a team and family!

      We really appreciate you sticking with us, Kerry! We will keep fishing together on one or the other, depending what fisheries are happening. I’m sure we’ll make a video on the plans once we get more time too.

    Great fishing. I am from the Azores Island in the Atlantic Ocean. I am hobby fishing. I fish around 2000 feet of depth. I would like to know the brand of your electric fishing reels, they look nice. I use homemade electric fishing reel with a motor from car power steering.
