    Great fishing skipper and son. reminds me of the good old days in England south east coast 90 to 100 stone plus off cod. In gill nets low water set. Bit different now no cod at all just a few small ones. Water is to warm these days. All gone north the cod Made me smile alot great fishing well,deserved. Bit off a roley day but I think it helps your lures a lot. But hard work. Well done 👍

    Nice haul cheese ball ha ha . It rhymed. Great catch. We used to fish those in the sound. Only two at at time. Big ones 25lbs , small ones 5lbs. The a homosexual named Gov. GARY LOCKE had the commercial salmon fleet from California come and whiped out every thing. Now its been a couple of years since the last time I saw a candle fish ...
    The whole shore line 25 to 40 ft from shore was a giant school of candle fish and smelt. I mean the whole puget sounds shoreline just wiped out. No more candle fish , very little smelt. Not a peep from fish and game. Paid off! Destroyed a resource and sent it to chinee As bad as that group of lawyers that call them selfs the NRA!
    THEY create cause and effect. Do it wrong way to rework it to justify their job.For mass $cash$ protect your fishery and keep chinee interests away.

    I'm curious how you steer your boat

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We steer with our autopilot, it's a Simrad with a knob it has both an autopilot option and a follow-up option that you control the angle of your rudder with. The unit is connected to a pump that pushes ATF through copper tubes to our steering ram which has a rudder indicator on it. We also have a jog stick for hauling gear on deck. Hope that answers your question.

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They keep tension on the setup, helps stretch the hooks out. Its a line that goes through the pully on the other side of the boat with a weight attached.

    How deep was your jigging water. Thanks...Capt Pete

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was around 20-25 fathoms (120-150ft).

      @@EISAlaskaThanks. That's about the same depth off Port Angeles, WA when we had tremendous cod fishing before it was wiped out about 20 years ago.

    Do you have a 'head' on the Fish Tale ? Or the new boat ?

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep. Both vessels have a head. The big boat also has a shower which is really nice.

    For just having 1 day it looks like you tore the cod up. Just curious, did you fill your holds?

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a great haul, didn't fill the holds. We can pack around 16k fully stuffed.

    Please tell us the depth of the water you fish in feet not meters

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David. We are seafarers and refer to the depth in fathoms. 6 feet = 1 fathom. I try to remember to convert to feet, but it is unnatural for me. Like when a sporty talks about how deep they are fishing in feet, lol.

    How do you steer the boat? I don't see a wheel.

    • @iansmartel5473
      @iansmartel5473 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stick an oar over the stern push for what way you need to go.

    • @pqtpat7734

      Drifting, with no boat pressure

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EISAlaska Thank you for responding. I looked up pictures of the device and did a little reading about them. Seems like it would work well. Stay safe and good fishing.

      We'll have to see. We're up to our necks in projects on it preparing it for fishing. Maybe late this fall. It's hard to say.
