A masterpiece. Terrence Malick is a genius in his direction and his writing. My heart was racing the whole time and Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek have a remarkable chemistry in this film. I see this film as a 1970s version of the 1960s Bonnie and Clyde film, with a different message and circumstances. I would watch this film again and again.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
And guess who Terrence Malick idolized - the director of "Bonnie and Clyde", Arthur Penn
It's hard to exaggerate just how astonishing this film really is. If you haven't seen it, don't wait any longer.
Martin Sheen looks so much like Charlie Sheen when he was young!
They basically look alike except Martin had slightly increased masculine look.
The other Brother Emilio Esteves looks more like his Vater!
And Emilio
Looks a lot more like Emilio
Yes, Just like him. I've seen all 4 of his children they look just like him 3 sons 1 daughter. The man has some strong genes.
You can see how much influence this film had on QT, either it was his inspiration or just one of the many homages Tarantino puts in his movies to show respect to the great ones that came before him. True Romance not only has a similar story, but the narrative voiceover by Sissy Spacek is remarkably similar in tone and accent to the one from Patricia Arquette in True Romance. And obviously the same music track used in both films. But there’s an obvious distinction between the two directors and where their talents lie. Malick is such an amazing visual artist, while QT is so ridiculously good at telling the story with style
I don't think Tarantino had anything to do with the music in True Romance. Clearly it is an homage to Badlands, but I think the choice in music came from Tony Scott.
What about Roger Avery who wrote most of True Romance and Pulp Fiction?
I thought this what inspired Oliver Stone Natural Born killers!!
This film is a work of art. The intimate feel of it and the child like, innocent sounding voice contrasted with the violence to give it a surreal quality. The cinematography, the music and the settings came together into quiet scenes that were pure poetry. The acting was outstanding. Terry Gilliam is a genius.
I think it's directed by Terry mallick
@@jeetandheersaldanha6320 you're right, it certainly was. (I love them both.)
Man I wish I had Sheen's hair.
Phenomenal film. In my top 20 of all-time.
Martin sheen = one of the coolest badass rebels that ever graced the screen- alongside Elvis and James dean
Everytime a piece of film records Sissy Spacek, it is iconic. This woman cannot stand before a camera without giving it her best. Coal Miner's Daughter, Missing, Blast From the Past......ETC
You should watch her in castle Rock. It's a season though. She steals the show.
A fantastic film. and Martin Sheen was drop dead georgeous!
I love this film.
Reminds me of the boys next door. Another Sheen classic.
Reminds me of True Romance.
People that are disturbed about the age gap when they are out killing people. Lol
“Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek stars in: “Badlands”. Coming soon from Warner Bros.”
Im excited about it, yes.
i found a trailer and remember watching it. its from1973.
Jeanette Wyatt 47 years in the making.
Great audition for apocalypse
This movie is an example of how a person can walk in your life and steal your child away. Kit was a psychopath. Holly’s Dad was too poor and incapable of filling the void of his wife’s death that he could not prevent Holly from being snatched away by Kit and committing atrocities. This film sums up in the phrase “if you don’t raise your kids, someone else will..”
You're a bit of a lunatic
Beautifully said.
Snatched…lol nope they were in it together. Do you not know the story behind this
The moral: stand your ground.
Looks badass
It's good to see that Holly got away from Kit and became a famous singer later on. Still don't know why she changed her name to 'Loretta' though.
😊
Probably because she was on the run after burning up her prom. :)
And went back in time, and dyed her hair black.
I think her daughter ended up living in Orange County.
I remember seeing this on TV. Could've sworn it was made well after the 70s though
I’m about to watch this movie for the first time
still considering it. ill update you
@@tobyrobinson2235 Tarantino completely ripped this movie for True Romance... They even used the same music and had the lead females do the same poetic commentary...
This was all based on starkweather the serial killer even natural born killers
Where you found It?
@@mikebullish it’s on TH-cam, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Google Play Movies.
Marty sheen is amazing in this
I never noticed the music in the end is the same used in the end of True Romance.
Yeahhh indeed. Good catch, and certainly a musical callback.
It's from a passed down of german song notes that has been interperted by modern composers in multiple movies
This film was ripped off by True Romance.
what is the name of that music?
@@sandidi211Carl Orff, Gassenhauer
wholesome entertainment.
MARTIN SHEEN fantastic is every film he made... None like him any more...
Getting strong True Romance vibes from this trailer
This movie is like the common ancestor of True Romance and Days of Heaven.
Excuse the grammar- fantastic line.
I loved this movie. If only there was a similar version of this movie, that would be a non-reality fairy tale, but a story about how, if Rosemarie Kennedy had a man who loved her, and gave her life an "alternate ending" from what she went through.
I also think of Shiva.
Everyone's talking about how Martin Sheen's son look like him. Meanwhile, Sissy looks so much like Schuyler in this movie it's crazy.
........” People who littered bothered him”......
Terrence Malick's iconic debut film. Not his best work, but a good film.
Fun fact- Mr. Sheen's left arm is shorter than his right by about 2-3 inches
:v
That why his nickname is clock.
Is he the Kaiser?
Sad Story 😢
I see Emilio Estevez
Yeah, but also a little bit of Rob Schneider in there.
They sure don't make trailers like this anymore.
Correction Stephanie,Martin sheen look more like his son Emilio stebes
Remember seeing this in 80s and about 15 min in thought this guy is like James Dean he had him down t.

True romance
💀
Double denim. Done well.
2:26 - Anyone else notice in this trailer the scene with Kit firing into the cellar where the young couple is locked is visually reversed? Wonder why. Makes Kit look left-handed.
Yes! It messed with my mind. Thank You!
In this case, they were the Bonnie and Clyde of the 50s.
This movie is tribute to True Romance.
Warren Oates is killed off in the first 10 minutes or so. This is something no movie can survive, not even BADLANDS.
If remade today... Tom Hardy would perfectly play the dad
it has been loosely remade, look up sun don't shine (2012). the film kinda sucks but that's just my opinion
similar movies recommendations pls? raw, pure life battle
True Romance obviously.
I heard this movie was based on Charles Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate.
Yes it is
Yes, true
He favors James Dean to me.
Trailers used to be so awful hahaha
Emilio estevez is his clone
Hahaha... Como é a aparência do cineasta Terrence Malick. Curioso...
Bro I couldn't get past "He was 25 and she was 15".....
Charlie looks like his dad 👨
Schuyler Fisk looks like Sissy's clone!
0:26 I'm sorry WHAT?!?!?
Bill Burr sent me here
Me too!!!
I don’t understand why Sissy Spacek doesn’t get much attention apart from her portrayal in Carrie
I think she was a pretty good actress plus she was an absolute hottie!!!
They were terrible at making trailers back then... 😑
Uncle Ben no!!
xD
Trailers always give away too much
So this is child friendly Gummo?
This trailer gives too much away
Seems to be a little bit nicer then NBK
tarantino sure was original
Sissy Spacek has very attractive legs back in 1973. I also love majorettes.
Bur
Springsteen
Why does she say he was 10 years older than her ? He was 5 years older than her .
Martin Sheen was 32 when he played 25-year-old Kit. Sissy Spacek was 22 when she played 15-year-old Holly. Hence why she said he was 10 years older than she. ; )
@@sharong8511 didn't she say it in the context of her narration in the movie ?
@@ronnietarnacke5153 NO
I love movies as much as anyone, but man trailers back then were garbage lol
@TheMrFelipe And a clockwork orange
At least they didn't spoil the whole movie.
I know it is just a movie but the fact she is 15 and he is 25 is disturbing!
The 10 years age gap is more disturbing to you than the fact they became serial killers?
@@VixxKong2 i didn't know they became serial killers? i didn't watch the whole movie yet
I dont like it .15 is just a kid.. but back then the age gap ...it wouldnt been that big of deal for a bf gf ..
He wasn't 25 , he was 20 , she was 15 . Not sure why the movie changed this fact .
Depends on where you are. The age of consent is a lot younger in many parts of the world(13 in Japan). I would not mess with a young adult but it’s a gray area, how do we measure another persons actual emotional maturity? I find it more disturbing that the couple goes on a murder spree.
A masterpiece of a movie but damn this trailer is pretty sucky.
Are we just going to ignore the fact a 25 year old man is dating a minor?
That was the 50-90s hell even today.... It's sick
There were no laws in 1959
Yes, there were laws governing such behavior in 1969...however, the multiple homicides sort of overshadowed the whole jail bait angle.
1959
He was actually 20
I had a 15yo gf when I was 25 but that's cause she lied to me about her age she told me she was 18 she finally told me when her bday came up her real age and I had to end things with her
Well even if she claims to be 18yo if you’re 20+ you shouldn’t be messing with teens
@@xoxoxoxo6445 ohhh my dating range is 18 to 45 I will marry a 18yo at my current age of 38 no problem
Eww. You are such a loser.
@@Razzlesnapsbecause you are emotionally and mentally immature.
..The lost two hours of my life; horrible, stupid, pointless.
This is not right at all. Totally hollywood.
It’s a fictional movie based on real things, it’s not a biopic
