- PIECE OF MY HEART - Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns
This was one of the first songs that popped into my head, but I figured it wasn't up to me to try to emulate Janis, so I hoped that someoone else would tackle it. Since the season's drawing to an end, I can give it a shot if I pretend that I've never heard Janis's version.
I'd appreciate it if you also pretend that you've never heard her version while you're listening to this.
I love playing Janis songs because I do them different. This HAD to be here, and you did a great job bringing it sir! Thank you!
Great rendition! Thanks for sharing your wonderful performance! I could hear Janis Joplin in the background. 😊
Thanks a lot Charldene. See you in a couple of hours?
John Hartford did this one on banjo on his "Gumtree Canoe" album. You did a great again. Thanks
John is one of my musical heros and I think I've probably heard him do this. Thank you.
Lucky me, I found this😩❤
Thanks for dropping by.
Nice version, Jim.
I probably would have done this in half the tempo, with a conversational vocal.
I remember doodling the opening riff on guitar endlessly in my younger days.
Thanks Cody (Is that right?) I didn't take the time to explore different tempos. It was fast & dirty.
@@PHJimY Yup, Cody. I'm just making conversation, following through with what you said on the forum about your version. I listened to the John Hartford version, and it's a lot like yours. I thought you'd be interested in what I would have done. Just typing "nice version" , I'm quickly learning, is probably a better way to go.
I like the conversation post Cody.
@@PHJimY Thank you, Jim. You're always a gentleman
There is no shame in your version compared to Janis Jim! This is really great! I have to go and find John Hartford’s version now 👍
Try to find the one where he dances
@@PHJimY just seen this Jim, I did listen to the straight audio version. I loved it.

Thanks Dave and thanks for providing the opportunity.
