That was great all around. The drumming is what made the original have such a unique sound, and this rhythm section is amazing in this arrangement. Sarah is killing it!
For a hot moment, I thought Elvis Costello was on guitar! (But, It was just the way Doug Wamble was dressed!) Is this is REALLY only a guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, and vocal LIVE without a net??? Oh HELL YES!!! I'm so happy!
The harmonica is a great twist on that song, and Doug’s guitar is always great to hear. ROCKIN THAT HAIR!😍 And THANK YOU for all of the hard work that goes into these few minutes you share with us!
I am a a life-long fan of the great Paul Simon. I usually detest any cover versions of his songs, but this is truly wonderful. Lovely vocals and arrangement. Beautiful. Love Morgan's vocals, especially with PMJ.
MJ is the queen of covers. Her covers are usually at least as good as the originals and most of the time better--e.g. "Dream On" and "Take Me to Church."

Morgan!!! You are simply amazing... I've been watching all of your uTubes (thank you for posting!!!) and saw you together with my daughter at Yoshi's in Oakland... Absolutely love everything (well... almost everything) you do and truly appreciate the gift you are giving all of us to participate in your journey, even if we can't come to the venues you're playing at. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!! And all of your great companions on stage and in the studio. 👋
Holy jeepers! My m8 GWA! I queued this coz I dig Morgan - love her stuff! (and Paul Simon, of course).. But imagine my joy and surpruse when I discover you are playing on this toooo! Grégoire u da man! 😎🙌🏼 🎶🎶🎶🎶
Morgan and Doug! I’m calling the cops! They’re gonna have to come and get you guys because this is too good! Doug is getting better and better? How’s that possible?🎸💯
In my opinion another immaculate performance. Morgan James is certainly doing her part when a band of this caliber assembles to support her and collaborate with her. I wonder whether stiff brushes or a brush/stick combo were considered on drums. I liked everything I heard but as I recall (maybe l recall incorrectly) brush drumming was common, perhaps even prevalent in the "don't be too loud" arena. Certainly not meant as a criticism, more as a request for comment.
That added a whole new dimension to that song. I hope to one day be cool enough to be in the audience for a show like that, but time is running out 😁. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get to San Antonio in November where they're playing a tiny jazz club, and still make the show a few days later in Austin, without my wife leaving me.
Morgan James is an absolute powerhouse in the world of music, a vocalist whose extraordinary talent and versatile artistry have set her apart as one of the most compelling performers of her generation. From her early days on Broadway to her stunning solo career, Morgan James has consistently captivated audiences with her soulful voice, impeccable technique, and magnetic stage presence. James's journey began in the realm of musical theater, where she quickly made a name for herself with standout performances in productions such as "The Addams Family," "Godspell," and "Motown: The Musical." Her time on Broadway honed her skills and showcased her ability to command the stage, drawing rave reviews for her powerful and emotive singing. However, it was her transition to a solo career that truly allowed her to shine and explore the full breadth of her musical abilities. Her debut solo album, "Hunter," released in 2014, marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The album, a blend of soul, R&B, and pop, highlighted James’s remarkable vocal range and her ability to infuse each song with raw emotion and authenticity. Tracks like "Call My Name" and "Say the Words" display her incredible control and the rich, resonant quality of her voice, earning her a loyal following and critical acclaim. One of the most remarkable aspects of Morgan James’s career is her dedication to creating and performing music that speaks to her artistic vision. She has a unique talent for reinterpreting classics, as demonstrated in her soulful renditions of songs by legends like Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Prince. Her covers are not mere imitations but rather fresh, inspired takes that breathe new life into beloved tracks, showcasing her deep respect for the originals while highlighting her own distinct style. In addition to her studio albums, Morgan James has gained widespread recognition for her dynamic live performances. Whether on stage with her band or in intimate acoustic settings, she brings a palpable energy and passion to every show. Her ability to connect with audiences, combined with her stunning vocal prowess, makes each performance a memorable experience. Moreover, James’s collaborations with other artists and her work with the popular music collective Postmodern Jukebox have further expanded her reach and demonstrated her versatility. Her renditions of contemporary hits in a vintage style, as featured with Postmodern Jukebox, are a testament to her creativity and ability to cross genres seamlessly. Her subsequent albums, such as "Reckless Abandon" and "Memphis Magnetic," have continued to build on her impressive body of work, each project reflecting her growth as an artist and her unwavering commitment to authenticity in her music. "Reckless Abandon" showcases her songwriting prowess and deep emotional resonance, while "Memphis Magnetic" pays homage to the classic soul and blues that have influenced her throughout her career. Morgan James is a rare talent in today's music landscape. Her career, marked by both critical and commercial success, is a testament to her exceptional abilities as a vocalist, performer, and artist. With each new project, she continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences around the world, solidifying her place as one of the most exciting and dynamic voices in music today. www.candiano.com/
Morgan puts her special talent on every song! She can sing any genre and Doug can play any style. I saw Morgan, Doug, Sarah with Spencer Murphy on bass two weeks ago. Great show !!!!!
I absolutely love this couple. Morgan your voice is sublime.... no music genre is out of bounds. You two should just do your thing...let the rest of us catch up💋💋❤️❤️
Exquisite work! I was at this show, it was a special one. The band killed, the setlist was a Valentines Day "all love songs" one night only, and Morgan was her usual spectacular!
@@danieldociu8430 Agreed. I feel like you either A) play the part or B) at least give it an homage. I think the rhythm section tried to “re-imagine” the feel and kudos for that-it just looked like the drummer was holding on for deal life and it sounded like a disjointed groove she learned right before the gig.
This woman can sing anything she wants, with or without musicians...she is simply great
I’m sure she has other talent too!
50 ways to appreciate Morgan!!!
Morgan has such a beautiful voice and Sarah is such a sensational percussionist!
Morgan's awesome! And that dress looks fantastic on her!
I've had the good fortune to see her live twice. Extraordinary vocal talent and superb musicianship. Doug is one tasty guitarist as well.
That was great all around. The drumming is what made the original have such a unique sound, and this rhythm section is amazing in this arrangement. Sarah is killing it!

So much funk and elegance in this performance. And that costume! It's structured but it definitely moves with our performer. Great job!

Love the new hair do!
Always a treat.
Anyone notice the girl in the audience behind the guitar player, at one point she sent a txt to Tex she was leaving
I'm hoping she sees herself in this video and reevaluates her eyebrow choices - lol.
That's hilarious lmao
That guitarist is so dope! I bet he does well with the ladies.
He has a "tourniquet" around his ring finger - he might not be available.
Yes jua.jua jua ni se" the charly"??? Tocaria preguntarles " ???
Love!
Nice guitar work. Morgan's lower register is really nice.
Такую Морган мы точно любим!
Why is this not yet available at Spotify? This is a very good cover.👍🏻
Круто! Спасибо!

that was some sweet sweet drumming right there.
Eh…
That drumming was a trash can in a dumpster fire.
@@zep136 I don’t know if it was THAT bad…😂🤣 But I did NOT dig it.
It is a ballsy task to take on the drums for this piece after Gadd made it into one of the most iconic drum parts ever!
