So great that you older guys have started using technology like recording videos. My generation needs your wisdom I like how you guys handle your jobs!
Thanks we came up with that after accidentally taking a row of 80/20 out of a carpet when putting a console in; the screw pulled it out like it was budda. Luckily it was between the seat and the console!
@@AutoRestoMod I'm thinking of doing this to spruce up my car. It does need floor pans and rockers redone, but I feel this will increase the resale and first impression if I choose to sell the car. Seems like good bang for the buck if I can do it myself. Am I completely off here?
I did a resto on my 68 Fastback many years ago when Consoles could not be replaced. I think the copyright finally expired. I went to NPD and looked for them. They have them, but they damn near cost half of what the whole car cost back in 1967. Over $1,000.00. My car came with a console from the factory and by the time I got that car, the console was trashed. Soooooo.... looks like no console for my car at all.
My dad picked up a 67 deluxe 4spd one off ebay in the early 2000's. Back when the 4spd piece wasn't being made. I think we paid close to 700 for a used one.
Can't seem to find on amazon a carpet for my 2010 ford ranger what would be the proper name to search for I searched carpet molded carpet and just shows me floor mats plx help

Thanks for the kind words! We recommend getting a cheap one from the tool store. You can wreck a nice iron doing this.
This is the second video I watch from these guys and it’s awesome!!!

Your video is a big help to me as I install carpet in my 71 GTO. Thanks much.
We're glad Steven! Thanks for watching.
Excellent job on the carpet.
The hot iron for the holes is a great tip.
Hot Iron for holes is a great idea!
I've always played hell w/ finding & cutting holes in the past .This will make it a lot easier.
Basically, some really good tips here. Basically, restoring my '67 Mustang and can use much of the lessons learned here. Basically, thanks.
Right on! Basically.
The solder iron tip worked great!
You need to bring back this guy to your show
Thanks for all the good tips. Can't wait to try them on my carpet install. Thank you
I've never pulled my seats and installed new carpet before. What am I looking at for install time? 10 hours, 20 hours?
If the seats come out easy (sometimes they don't) 4 to 5 hours.

Paul, you can source the parts that are busted via eBay and swap meets, they are still out there. We had to do that with our '67.

Please what is the name of the glue you aplaid between the metal and the carpet thanks
I use 3M weatherstrip adhesive. You can also try contact adhesive, though it is pretty smelly for a while.

Where is the carpet from???
This stuff is cheaper and same as 3M stuff-
Tuf-Tite and Polylok Septic Tank Risers 5/16" x 20' (20ft long)
thanks for the tip
Borgeson boxes are cheap for a reason, they are throw away you cannot rebuild them - go with PSC excellent quality.
We'll look into them.
pro man. thx
I personally despise consoles.
That's why some cars don't have 'um!😁
