Who wanted this? We don't want fancy new products. We want things we can afford. Fast food cost almost as much as sit down meals cost now. It's insane.
What sit down meals cost five years ago maybe, I got bad news about them too....
@@str1fe13 Here in the UK there is a chain of pubs called Wetherspoons, you can get a "sit down meal" on an actual plate with knife and fork for only a couple £ more than an average McDonalds meal, in most cases. Their food is admittedly hit and miss....their curries are microwaved and should be avoided, but the steaks are superb for the price.
@@str1fe13 Right? went to applebee's last week with a buddy to catch up and we settled on the "value" option. two meals that were a simple burger with fries and a drink that came to $25 total. All the regular meals were up in the $20's and stuff. It's like goddamn.
But then I go to BK for a double whopper and the meal comes to over $13. it's all expensive. So I tried cooking at home and that's even more expensive than eating out unless I buy seriously suspect or clearanced groceries.
@@XaevrynThese days I've just been buying Tyson Frozen Chicken Strips and air frying them. A bag of those is like $9.00 per bag. Because I'm not paying $30 for a meal that's gonna be mid at best with tiny portions to boot.
This is all part of the plan they have. We should all go on a hunger strike. I doubt that would change anything though.

I recently started working at popeyes for part-time work, the thing about the sandwiches is that the only thing that gives the sandwiches different flavors is the sauce that is put on the bun. the chicken itself is always the same with the exception of the blackened chicken. we also tend to very quickly swipe on the sauce so there is often inconsistancies with the amount you get, which is why you should always order a side of the sauce. hope this helps.

I got fat when I started working there at 16. I also gained muscle since I was working out regularly. Fukn loved swiping fries and popcorn chicken.
Even the pickle slice knew to try to escape the venom of an unsatisfactory Reviewbrah experience. Poor little guy. Almost made it. RIP, rest in pickle juice our fallen friend.

The quality of the chicken sandwich in general has dropped tremendously since the initial rollout. I had the regular spicy chicken sandwich the other day and the entire greasy filet slipped out of the breading on the first bite.
Maybe rethink some lifestyle choices? It's easier than you think.
I had one the other day it was huge, juicy, crispy and not at all greasy. It just depends I guess. You should have taken it back and asked for a new one. I would say in general the quality hasn't gotten worse. It could just be your local Popeyes.

Spicy Truff brand mayo tastes horrible! I found out by buying the bottle and regreted it. Be happy you could not tase the sauce, it would ruin the sandwich.

@@hhtgkhv1808 Apparently. Most people who rave about truffles cite the "earthy" taste of them. I don't know about anyone else, but a flavor like "earthy" that evokes having literal dirt in your mouth isn't exactly the most appealing to me, personally.
I have had the regular and hotter grocery store bottles of Truff hot sauce, no mayonnaise involved. I think they’re fine though the truffle taste/smell isn’t for everyone. Expensive stuff, Truff.

truff sauce in general is a disaster. A bunch of fake truffle oil that tastes and smells like a car on rotted out donuts doing a burnout in your mouth. It sure tastes truffle infused...if you've never actually had truffles before.

Truffles are a scam in the gourmet world I swear! Any product I've tried that has truffle in the title is either void of flavor or so overbearing that it's actually gross. I feel like in this instance, they should've had a packet of sauce you could add yourself to the sandwich

You have 100% had truffle oil which is not made with real truffles. Unless you go to a very high end restaurant, it is never going to have real truffles in it.

As someone who recently tried TRUFF hot sauce on a homemade chicken sandwich, I am not surprised that Popeyes took the cheap way out. You need an adequate amount of TRUFF hot sauce, which is not cheap in any regard, and they diluted it with mayo. You would have a better experience with the hot sauce if you used your own bottle.
Agreed here. I have truff bottles at home and said "there's no way that sandwich isn't tasting good" lol. The taste is there and but not every actually puts sauce on it like they should

Truffle is supposed to be fancy but everyone seemed to have forgotten it tastes bad.
Truffle is one of the most overrated things I've ever eaten. Every time I've had it I'm either very underwhelmed or it's decent, but never good.
It’s just another item in the uselessly trendy genre of foods along side avocado toast and gluten free bread. People buy it to appear en vogue but it’s nothing special at all.
I have never seen the Brah jump cut away from the first bite before.

Get a refund, your overpaid by $4-5 because of laziness on the part of restaurant employees. Proves the point, never use the drive thru, go inside and confirm the truffle sauce was put on the chicken sandwhich.

What is truffle sauce supposed to taste like, anyway? I could possibly see a mushroom-swiss chicken sandwich (like a mushroom-swiss burger), but truffle sauce sounds like something which would be part of an entree in a sit-down restaurant.

The goal certainly seems to be taking advantage of the fact that most people don't even know what truffle tastes like and think of it as a luxury in order to sell a bland mediocre sauce at a high price.

Got the Truff Bacon Cheese Chicken Sandwich today bc we had a couple of gift cards. Husband said it was horrible, practically inedible and he felt a little sick bc the sauce tasted so bad , like off. I tasted it and I’ve had truffle fries before but this was strong. To be fair we were in another town and afterwards saw the place had 1.5 stars for terrible food, service even moldy bread so maybe it was that location, not our usual Popeyes location.
Just got the sandwich and it was $7.50, never again, too pricey for such a disappointment.

I bought a bottle of Truff Sauce from Heatonist last year. It was pleasant, with midrange heat, and if I put enough on something, I could definitely taste what I assume was truffle flavor. Kind of a shame they short-changed you at Popeye's.

I was curious about this because that Truff sauce is expensive. Popeyes is obviously using it as a gimmick to get attention, but they want to use just enough to say it's on there to cut corners.

I tried both and I have to say it works way better with the blackened chicken, than the classic fried one.
I thought it smelled horrible and I dipped a chicken strip in the sauce and I immediately had to spit it out.
Thats because its diluted with mayo and whatever else. Go get the actual Truff bottle from the store. Thats the actual hot sauce you want

Reviewbrah exhibits the same combination of subdued humility and confidence one associates with that polite, mostly quiet guy down the street who, when you finally visit his home for a neighborhood meet-and-greet and take a wrong turn looking for the bathroom, you instead enter his study and see his Medal Of Honor and citation on the wall - BENEATH family photos and diplomas.
Here's the Popeyes description "The peppery new addition to the Popeyes menu takes the restaurant's chicken sandwich and quite literally fires things up with a generous helping of TRUFF Spicy Mayo, a condiment that's described as "featuring the bold flavors of red jalapeño, rich creamy mayo, and black winter truffle."
Yea......that is NOT Truff sauce lmao. Thats why the review is a 4/10. If they used the actual sauce (yes the pricy the $14.99 bottle) it would be a 9/10 because its a very VERY potent sauce but popeyes also has to save costs so they wouldn't use the real thing

Oh that’s a shame. I was just looking through Popeyes menu, and was going to treat myself to a tasty chicken sandwich when I noticed these. I was thinking of making it my first major meal after my recently ended diet, but now I suppose I’ll go for a regular spicy chicken sandwich instead.

We got one the other day on our way home, and I actually had the opposite problem. The Truff sauce, while tasty, was completely overbearing to the point where it was the only thing you could really taste.

When I tried this I just got a regular chicken sandwich combo and added the truff sauce on the side. This way I could add as much as I wanted to the sandwich and dip my fries. Thought it was ok but probably won't get again. I was expecting spicier and more truffle taste but it is what it is.
I love when you film in that outdoor space that is full of glass panes, It looks so cozy.
Seems like the pickle should be on top, you are right, the bottom bun can not support the extra moisture...
