The current state of fast food is an absolute joke. Not only are they doubling and tripling their prices, but they still serve us the same horrible quality food. I encourage you all to truly learn how to cook your own food
I'd argue that the quality of the food is even worse than it used to be. It's like they all used covid as an excuse to down the quality and jack up the prices. It's insane.

It's crazy how these big companies know about guys like brah and they don't do enough taste testing and sampling within a large enough group size to put out a decent tasting product. These big companies are way out of touch

I love this guys attitude. He is suck a cheerful, funny, and just great guy in my opinion. He seems like such a nice man to meet irl. This guy also comes to each video, dressed well, wonderful hair, and brings enjoyable commentary and laughs to us in his food reviews. Great job man, you bring a smile to my face.

I have to agree things are getting out of hand when it comes to fast food.I try not to eat it as I,m diabetic, but if I am out and about will buy something .The wings do look like a decent size.And if they are just honey would probably be better.
Speaking of Popeye's ... Seems like during the pandemic they resorted to butchering their Chicken Tenders to skinny pissant strips so they'd cook quickly while Customers were waiting in the drive thru line. real chicken pieces seems smaller too. They used to have a great product. Those times seem to have past.
Even real restaurants are getting absolutely ridiculous though. I understand making a profit, but when you're charging $15 for a burrito that costs $2 _if that_ to make it's just asinine. With the exception of Culver's and one other local restaurant, I've stopped buying prepared food entirely.
I went to Texas Roadhouse and they actually have a decent lunch special for I think $11-12? With rolls and two sides is pretty good for me

I have a feeling the Popeyes executives watch this dude's videos at board meetings to see if their product is a flop or not.
A note on "a decent size": the bigger the wing, the more pumped with hormones and growth chemicals there are in the meat. A chicken wing is naturally tiny and it's arguably better to get 12 instead of 6 or 18 instead of 12 if you want lots of wing - rather than hoping they're big and plump. A small wing is almost always a more natural and less tampered with wing.
It’s mostly bones and breading. Wings should be cheap because there is hardly any meat.

tried two kinds of these wings because doordash had a free offer since popeyes is pushing this promo so hard, the ghost pepper was bland and tiny, and the garlig parmegian had a weird but oddly good cheese sauce on it and were pretty excelent
yea noticed that too, the Garlic Parm flavor was good, and mildly spicy too, and was the only good wing flavor they had.

@@catcherboy96 its hit or miss, i eat it frequently cause i just like fried chicken and no good fried chicken spots near by and i make it my self sometimes but its too much work so i just opt for popeyes. some days the wings are on point, super crispy and chicken is juicy, other days the chicken or wings are really dry and one time the chicken skin had a rubbery nasty texture.

Every fast food corporation does tons of market research and test groups before ever releasing a new product. And they still put out mostly trash.
Just think of how bad the rejected items were for this one to be chosen.
They do tons of market research, but then they expect severely underpaid, overworked people with zero experience to prepare their products.

I know exactly which ones he's talking about too. They're probably called something different in America, but here in the UK, they're called Lockets. It's not just a normal lemon flavour that they have either. It's a very medicinal, menthol-y lemon flavour. The thought of biting into a chicken wing and being met with that flavour makes me feel nauseous.

Honey and lemon are soothing to the throat, so they're commonly used in cough drops. Honey's expensive and so is lemon, so I'm sure Popeyes corporate chose the cheapest vender possible. Unfortunately, that choice is to everyone's misfortune.

Basically all honey in stores now is just high fructose corn syrup that was force fed to bees so they could spit it back up and they’re allowed to call it honey. That’s how they keep it so cheap. That’s definitely what Popeyes is using.

I remember seeing the drive thru trash full of happy meal boxes and still wrapped burgers as a kid.

Completely agree with you reviewbrah. I had these twice because they came free with purchase on the app. Both flavors were disgusting. The fried chicken itself tasted just fine, but it almost had a “buttery” taste to it that didn’t go with the tangy sauces AT ALL. I never throw out food but I remember having thrown both containers out. So glad they were free but it wasn’t even worth keeping around.

Thats been the average price for wings for years at any place that isnt exclusively selling wings. When places have specials on wings its almost always 99 cents a wing, which is barely cheaper then $8 for 6.. which btw is the same price as pretty much anywhere for the last decade

$8 for six wings is too high. At the end of the day, it is chicken, and while I understand that prices of fast food has gone up, I think that this price for wings is approaching the limit of what folks would be willing to pay, especially when the wings taste like cough drops. I'll heed your expert opinion and avoid these, thank you for your sacrifice so all of us can avoid this fate.

I work at popeyes and let me tell you all the ghost pepper wing flavor sauces are horrible. Even the chicken flavor is bad. And we have so many artificial ingredients and dyes in our food you could put down a horse. Dont even get me started on our cleanliness. I try my hardest to keep that store clean but my coworkers do NOT care, sometimes theyll literally drop ur food on the floor and keep it moving to the customer. Its honestly nasty and sick. Popeyes is a place i would never go to ever again especially after working there.

Popeyes is still decent most of the time in my experience. Burger King is nearly always trash though. And I’ve definitely heard Tim Hortons has gone downhill.

I've legit NEVER had a positive experience at any popeyes, they always manage to mess something up, forget an item, undercook the chicken, give the wrong kind, wrong portion, final straw for me, ordered at drive thru, told me to pull up and park and wait, waited a half hour and never got my food, had to go back to work cuz lunch break was over, never ordered popeyes again

Your internal organs and intestines will be forever grateful, but seriously if people knew the marathon they were taking their kidneys on everytime they eat something with enough sodium to match ocean water, my hope would be that people would eat healthier and cook their own meals.
