- Hey my brothers and sisters, this is just a video about Topheth which is basically a word mentioned - in the Major Prophet books - which is used to describe Hell to the best that the Jews could understand it...so that is just a small synopsis of what it is.

Tophet or Topheth is a term originating in the Hebrew Bible. In the Bible, it was a location in Jerusalem in the Gehinnom, where worshipers engaged in a ritual involving "passing a child through the fire", most likely child sacrifice. Traditionally, the sacrifices have been ascribed to a god named Moloch. Wikipedia

Topheth or Tophet is where ritual sacrifice of children was made. There was also a funeral pyre made, and that the sacrifices were to be tossed into fire after. In this passage of Isaiah you can hear the reverence towards the rituals of making the fire pit and how everything is in place for the sacrifice for the lord

Huh, that's interesting, but there are multiple places around the world with the same name. But also, there are multiple names for the same places in Israel. Topheth is also the Kidron valley which is also called Gehennom, etc. But yeah....but that's cool that you went to Italy

So Gehennom is most probably the same as what the Muslims call Jahannum for Hell.
