A wonderful territory, if we overlook all the pain and suffering it represents. I see Ezekiel's Temple embedded upon the foundations represented here, by ancient and new Jerusalem. I see the waters, a pure aqueous fluid, pushing at the eastern gate ready to push it open and this water building up in intensity and slowly saturating the altar before ebbing back then forward again as it passes through the temple and hits the western wall of the temple where Jesus stands and blesses that water taking nutrients back to the altar and swirling that nutritious fluid over all the innards stored on the shelves on the inner walls...as if doing similar things to our own inner fluids that have been blessed by Jesus...refreshing us in like manner.
Now that's a sanctified imagination.

In the book of Zechariah I believe the "living waters" that he says will flow to the east and to the west means people, not actual water. Because in Revelations 17 the angel says the water in which the great prostitute sits upon represents many nations tribes and tongues. So.. soon he is coming, very soon.

I'm surprised there is not a church dedicated to where Jesus had a road snack or had his outhouse. The lengths they went to with absurd stories and fake relics to attract pilgrims and donations is sometimes quite funny.

You said there are olive trees in Gethsemane or there abouts that are thousands of years old. Personally, I don't believe that. If I recall correctly, Josephus said that the Romans cut down all trees when they crucified the Jewish resisters in 70 AD. I read this more than 40 years ago.
