I like very few videos on this platform, but liking this one was a no brainer. It is obvious how much heart you put into the video! Great use of 1.5h!!!!
I did the PCT twice. In 21 and 22 because, like so many others, I was out there to do two things. See some amazing scenery and push myself along and do something utterly epic. I had no idea at the time that it was mostly a journey into myself. I am almost three years removed from my last hike and still processing all of the shocking revelations about the way all of my past experiences have shaped who I am now. I think you have done a great thing here by getting so many others to open up to you on the trail. It is such an amazing hike and results in discoveries about oneself that can be both uplifting and enlightening. I am so glad you did not jump of the bridge brother,,,,HEISENBERG
Let me say this firmly: only somebody unique could have produced such an amazing video. Hiking, the views of trail and those interviews Man! That is a cherry on a pie. I wanna say even more that each of us is a unique human being! There has never been a similar person as you!, there is not currently and never will be. Each of us has unique history that never has been, and never will be repeated. Each of us has a great depth to be discovered and therefore each of us carry such a great value that we all are individuals to be admired, deeply loved. Everyone deserved what he yearns from the bottom of his heart - appreciation, love, attention, forgiving and all we need that is beautiful. Let's do not punish ourselves with negative emotions, feelings and thoughts. Be supportive to ourselves and travel through life like you traveled throu PCT. Thank u Sean for this video. It enriched my life even though sb can think I am exaggerating or i do not know what I am saying or doing. I feel so greatful that I came across video of yours! Thnxx again and good luck my friend! p.s. especially history of HONEY, i can so relate to that story..
Thank you for these inspirational words, I couldn't agree more! It's about time that we all see ourselves for what we truly are, unique and beautiful people.
Oh, they will watch it! They will watch it! So open, heartfelt, soulful, and inspiring. I am not a big fan of slugs, but that was a truly unique cinematic moment. Thank you so much for making this and helping us to see the potential inside us all. Can't wait to get on the trail.
It took me a while contemplating on if a comment would work on this platform…or if it made a difference…I’d never met Sean before my interview, but I’d crossed passed with most if not all the others…kudos to Sean for conveying personal/immediate/future struggles!!! I’d say shame on the rest for superficial answers in front of the camera… Nothing simple about being on trail…and I even coached one said star in this documentary on stretching and pain as we both struggled early…and the only answers given to thought out questions seemed cheap, prophetic and rhetorical at best. Sean is the question and the answer! To even attempt to document and carry a camera on a hike that begs trimming pounds and excess effort is the star…the rest of us are frauds. Zero
Well done... Inspirational! Your video moves into the top 10 for me of thru hiker videos. Thanks for sharing the many struggles we all face but may not be comfortable revealing. Your candidness helps show that we have more in common with each other than we all think...
Thank you for the review! It's only #11 on my list, so yay! 🤣 That was my overall goal for this film, to show we're not in it alone. Everyone is dealing with their own trials and tribulations, we just deal with them in our own way. For me and many people in this film it was through hiking, but in many ways hiking was just the metaphor here used to show that healing is a journey, but there is still beauty to be found along the way.
I watched your movie on a Tuesday night!! Awesome hike and a huge achievement!! I too find my peace on the trail and notice my issues build without the trail. Hang around and give us more videos!!❤
Loved your story and documentary! Thank you for your courage, strength, and creativity in making such an inspiring movie. I hope you continue to share your journey.
Thanks for putting this together AV. Been a long time coming but definitely worth the wait. So great to be taken back to what will possibly remain the greatest time of my life in so many ways. Rob(Bear Bait)
Thanks Bear Bait! I'm sure the trail holds a special place in all of our hearts. I actually still have to get my lazy ass back out there to finish the damn thing (about 60 miles worth).
Absolutely freakin' awesome video. One of the best I've seen and I've seen a lot. Congratulations, you did an amazing job in numerous categories. Thank you!
Class of 2016! Love seeing all the familiar faces and hearing others thoughts on what the trail means to them and knowing its so similar to my own. Thank you for making this beautiful trip down memory lane.
Amazing work, Sean!!! Definitely not yet another hiking documentary. Story has multiple layers and dynamics are made really well. It has a flow and it keeps you glued. Choice of music is great. I also love animated stories. One with a bear and a cat hole made me laugh really hard 🙂 It was great to see familiar faces that I haven't seen in a long time and I am sure they would have been forgotten in my head. Also, it was great to follow your numbers of days on the trail, because I think we've started the same day so I was like - hey, where was I on that day?? It was cool to see the old me....my English isn't so bad now that I am watching. Back then I had a feeling I was struggling a lot with it 🙂 I hope you will accomplish whatever you wish for with this film. It has a strong message and it is made in such a colorful and slightly different way than any other hiking films I have seen. I also love the colors. You did a great job with coloring. Keep on making films is all I can say!!!!!! (and I applaud with standing ovations!!!) 🙂
Powerful, brutal and honest! Bravo! Excellent documentary on the inside journey we take on the PCT. More people should watch this film - a wild howl from the human heart!
Thank you for this video. I enjoyed it very much. It is different from the typical PCT videos. I am so happy that you found yourself on the PCT, that you accomplished what you hoped this hike would do for you. It is a very uplifting message. Thank you for opening up so much and for making so many other hikers open up. Thank you!
the work is cool!!! The memories of walking pct together seem to come back vividly Our class of 2016 pct was really good. Thank you for recording those days with good videos! May your road ahead always be full of joy and always be healthy! See you on the trail later. Friend! woochan from S.korea!
Well done Sean! One foot in front of another can take you a long way. You covered more than miles and distance. Beautifully done. The slug clip was genius. Blessings
Thanks Jon! Sometimes that's all we can do, but it's amazing how much a few miles in the woods can do for mental health. And I won't lie, I'll be forever proud of that slug clip 🤣
Lots of other things to do, but going through a rough time, looking for inspiration, searching for PCT videos and wanted to thank you for yours. It's funny how familiar your story is, I really do hope that you are better now, and wishing for my future self the same. You are awesome, thank you for sharing your story
It does take time and patience, as much as I always hated to hear that. I never thought I'd be at a place in my life where I'm truly radiating happiness, but a few years removed from the trail finds me remarried and expecting my first born, it just took the trail to keep me going long enough to reach that next chapter.
Excellent video, congrats on getting your fellow hikers to open up about their personal experiences and feeling it’s not something easy to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to take this similar journey in a near future
Best thru hike video I've seen by far. Not exaggerating. The interviews are so engaging. I can't imagine the amout of work you put in producing this documentary. Thank you so much and wish you the best of life.
Sean! Great job! Thanks for doing this during such a traumatic time in your life. It had to be emotionally taxing to work on this, but hopefully it was a blessing to you as well. I think it will be a blessing to everyone who sees it. -Honey
This was amazing broski and hope you’re still hiking, but for happiness now. Happy trails and maybe one day we cross trails! Cheers to great views Also Tesla is an awesome guy!!
Thanks! Tesla has some really great documentaries himself if you haven't viewed them already, he's a hiking machine! I'm definitely still out there hiking, need to start planning my next big one.
@@SPKennedy03 awesome can’t wait to see the next big adventure. I’m starting the A.T. Next year and love watching documentaries on all the trails. Yeah I’ve watched Tesla, that was cool to see him in your video. GL and Happy trails!!
Wow, this is fantastic! I know it has been several years since you completed the trail, but Congratulations! Such a well thought out and put together documentary, so much work to create something like this. Really appreciate the vulnerability and honesty you share, you are a strong person. May you always remember what you have learned, carry it forward, and keep adding to it. Also, do you have any info for the song that was being played around 11:40? -Journey PCT '21
Thank you Journey for the positive critique! I appreciate everyone who has been taking the time to sit down and watch the film. The song you are referencing in the film is my only regret with this entire project. I filmed this hiker, as well as several others, in Warner Springs messing around on the guitar, not fully intending on using the song, at least not in such a prominent role that it ended up being. I got all their verbal permission, but failed to get names for some reason (it was still pretty early in my journey). I tried unsuccessfully numerous times reaching out to the PCT Class of 2016 with screenshots to see if anyone recognized him and multiple searches for the song he was playing, but to no end. He is a mystery. I hope one day someone will recognize him so I can give him the proper credit. All I know is this was in Warner Springs and I believe he said he worked on cruise ships as a performer. Reach out if you or anyone else knows him.
Really? I have heard before that the young couple found Donovan's tent, with the backpack in it - and also his sleeping bag with his skeleton in it. That they actually saw this. And then they read his diary, and there it said "I have realized that there is no way out of this valley, I am gonna die here". Which was of course an awful thing to read.
I like very few videos on this platform, but liking this one was a no brainer. It is obvious how much heart you put into the video! Great use of 1.5h!!!!

It's the small things. Why stop and smell the roses, when you can just as easily lay sprawled out in the dirtl and watch a slug trek on by.
