I really do hope they work against traveler/manipulate them, at least at first. We know they have to be on decent terms to be playable but a betrayal would be so much more interesting. I'm also really hoping we get traveler being jealous of their sibling relationship considering their own. But yeah betrayals or characters that aren't immediately friends are so intriguing
That's been the case since Liyue.. The traveler arrives and is for some reason suspected (in theory supposedly killing Rex Lapis in Liyue, a visionless element user and "an exception to" Ei's original form of 'eternity' in Inazuma and later as a per se enemy as siding agiainst Inazuma before all that is resolved, in Sumeru a threat to the power of the sages at that time and later when the Apep character appears a sign of the wrong New before the forbidden knowledge is gotten rid of) even with no basis. Even in Monstatd, where at first the traveler is a curiosity and later a hero and Honorary Knight, the unknowns and various this or that [most notably seen in the Albedo story line when Rosaria suspected the traveler of some sort of trickery- it seems Albedo's Khemia has Rosaria on edge] lead to varying misadventures and tests of a sort (it wasn't until helping clear 4 wind temples and the thief incident connected to the time that Amber administered the gliding license test that the traveler was clear) before the traveler is completely trusted.
Traveller being jealous of the Lynt twin’s sibling relationship could make for some interesting character development 🤔
I think a betrayal would be cool! But rather lyney intends to betray the traveller, and Lynette tells off on him (given it looks like she’s forced into the shows and stuff)
Yeah lyney seems like a really street smart person who can bamboozle people into getting what he wants.
I would kill to see a twist like that. I doubt that they'd do it by their own will, at least with what my first impression of Freminet tells me, but I'm just excited to see what each of them are actually like in the archon quest, especially Lyney.
I’m really excited to see how the story plays out with these three. Despite Lynette being titled “multi purpose assistant” and Freminet’s constellation being “Automaton,” I believe all of them are still naturally organic beings. That is to say, not robots or puppets.
Assuming the House of Hearth theory holds true, I would assume Lynette’s almost robotic personality is an effect of experimentation or psychological torture. Meanwhile, Freminet didn’t give me much indication of being a puppet or robot. He just seems really anti-social to me lol

i love how nicole says in v3.3 "believe your own eyes. only that which you can see is true" and lyney says that "magic is what you see with your own two eyes". i think it holds a very much deeper meaning and maybe a big hint to something we have yet to see later in fontaine

Something curios to me.
If you look at Lyney and Freminet offical art closely, both of them have identical patterns in their eyes, which is a trait only related characters like Aether and Lumine and Jean and Barbara posses. Lynette is the only one of the siblings who doesn't have the same patern.
I really feel like Lynette is either a found family situation or something along those lines. She is a completely different species from the brothers so even if she is an automaton recreation, the original is still not related to them.

@@whitich8759 I think that makes sense; it’s definitely a possibility since lyney’s entire kit features cats but freminet is much more connected to a penguin, is the other half actually a part penguin parent? or is it just his favourite animal?
Another theory I’ve seen is that Lyney is the robot rather than it being Lynette and/or Freminet. Lynette and Freminet’s mannerisms seem to be the same, what with not really liking social interactions and being closed off- Lyney is the odd one out. Maybe the real Lyney passed and the reason Lynette and Freminet are so reserved is because they know what really happened?
However, all three of them are oddballs, with Lyney’s extroverted personality (the other two lack this), Lynette’s cat features (same as before, the brothers don’t have them), and practically Freminet’s entire character design (having the machine on his back, like Aster noted- but also his cons being named Automaton while the twins have cats, the fact his hair is more blond than the other two and the fact that he has freckles which the twins lack.)
I’m more on board with the theory that they’re all from Arlecchino’s orphanage, and that’s how they managed to get close to one another. I’m also leaning towards the experimentation on Lynette’s part, given that aside from her cat features her and Lyney are identical twins. Something interesting could be that Lyney is somehow hiding his own cat features with “magic”?
I also like to think that, assuming they are related to Arlecchino, that they ran away from the orphanage- and part of the archon quest in Fontaine could be Lyney’s harbored anger towards her, being the older brother and therefore protective of his siblings? They could also play a role in fending off Arlecchino from getting Focalors gnosis. Perhaps that’s the twist that Focalors talked about in the new trailer? If that’s the case, that’s some interesting foreshadowing.
AHHH so many questions, but all should be answered when 4.0 drops (which I’m very excited about.) I have a guarantee for Lyney so I’m going to be dedicating everything to him

I’m also with the experiment theory, Freminet with mechanical upgrades, and Lynette with biological ones, Lyney uhh… we’ll see. It’d be a bigger twist if Lyney was actually the most loyal to the Fatui and the siblings would only pretend to want to get away, but ruin our plans in the last moment.

My prediction for Fontaine: Lyney is going to convince the traveler to take part in a great heist (his comment about needing the right people to perform a great show is super sus to me). He'll tell the traveler it has something to do with fixing a problem caused by the archon. In truth we will help him pave the way for Arlecchino to take the gnosis from Focalor. Afterwards he'll blame the whole thing on us. Which will lead to a massive court trial where we need to gather evidence to prove our innocence. Something difficult to pull off, as Lyney covered his tracks well, and no one believes he could be involved due to his reputation.

I feel like the siblings are spies for the Fatui and will betray Arlecchino or some kind of twist will occur 🤔
My speculation from the trailer is that Arlecchino has deployed the siblings for a magic trick and the entire magic trick here is going to involve everyone, Traveler, Paimon, Archon, Arlecchino and her children, all of Fontaine, tricking Celestia and stopping whatever it is trying to do floating over Fontaine.
Which means Arlecchino planted the siblings as spies, not to spy on Fontaine, but to spy on Celestia from Fontaine, and not to sabotage Fontaine, but to subotage Celestia because that's the real enemy of Sneznhaya and Teyvat. Arlecchino is performing a magic trick for the Harbingers themselves, it is a double fake, she might not be that evil, she might even be saving Fontaine with the help of the siblings.

lyney, lynette and freminet are definitely going to be my favorite characters hopefully i will get one of them when they come out at 4.0
As for feline features, we have seen that they do not always show up evenly though lineage. Two examples are Diona and Sucrose. Sucrose has animal ears, but she does not know where the ears came from. The hypothesizes that she had an ancestor with animal aspects, even though her parents do not have such aspects. Diona's family do have feline features, but not nearly as much as her. Her father, most of her clan, and even a 200 year ancestor of her's only have cat ears. She has cat ears, cat tail, and even cat feet. So it seems animal aspects can be more or less prominent from individual to individual.
On a side note, I wonder who makes Diona's boots. They seem to be custom boots for not human feet. They have the same paw print tread as Sucrose's boots as well, though Sucrose's boots appear human shaped.
Where is it mentioned Sucrose’s parents don’t have those animal features? Also I disagree, Draff and the others might be hiding their tails, Diona is an oddity even in her lineage, she has a difference fur pattern and looks nothing like her father. Diona might be taking after her mother instead.
@@Astrophel24 After hours or voice lines. I can not find what I thought I remember. Not sure if I remember it incorrectly, or if it is just burried in here someplace. She has a lot of lines, and talks about her childhood and parents often, especially in events.
@@Jesses001 Thats exactly why I was asking. Ive talked and searched a lot about Sucrose in the past ( mainly her origins) and not have once heard it be mentioned her parents don’t have those animal features.

Also those do not look like cat ears to me. I think Sucrose is way off about that one. Not sure why she would not just ask her parents, but overlooking a simple solution like that would be well within character for her, ha.

I definitely think they are "siblings" because they all came from Arlecchino's orphanage and not because they came from the same parent. There's probably fatui experimentation involved, which is why they are different races and robots, there's a reason why Arlecchino clapped for Lyney and Lynette's performance and then showed that they are just a magic trick.
All three siblings' description tells us that they are hiding their true intentions from others and maybe we should try to find out who they are, especially with Lynette and Freminet, in Lyney's case though, you may find him trying to find out more about you instead. Sounds like spy behaviour.

Freminet and Lyney are incredibly similar, in the same way barbs and jean are. I agree with Lynette not being related tho, she’s not only a completely different species but she has different eyes that dont at all resemble her brothers

Tbh I like to theorize that since they are supposed to be actors, that Lyney is actually not a real human and that Lynette is pretending to be feline and just shy while Freminet is a real human but completely disconnected from society giving the impression that he is a cold hearted machine. Honestly though the talk about truths and facades really makes me eager to know what kind of plot twists will come to be.
What surprises me that nobody points out similarity between Lynette and Diona. We already know Diona's lore well and according to it, there should be way more kätzlein around Teyvat than just Draff and Diona. My bet is that Lynette is just third of the species we meet.
Also, they are not performing for Arlecchino. There is audience applauding in front of them at the end of their performance while Arlecchino is only talking to cutouts. What exact connection do these cutouts have to their actual performance is yet to be seen and we may never understand that but to be honest, all these trailers are made to deceive us, quotes and video sequences are placed over each other out of context intentionally to suggest things that are not true. And with general philosophy on which whole Fontaine stands, this time it's deception squared. We may learn in the end that things are very, very different from what we deduce based on this teaser.
Gusto ko na talagang marating ang Fontaine! I feel like these three are not really siblings. They met each other at Arlecchino's orphanage. Lynette is a feline (made by Dottore? This is a stretch). Freminet is an automaton (hence the constellation) made by Sandrone. Only Lyney is human.
I find it interesting how most people theorize that the siblings are from the orphanage. I always thought Arlecchino’s presence in the trailer was more metaphoric rather than literal. It felt more like she was scolding them behind their backs because of their opposing views and the political threat that they pose against her.

Something I find interesting about Freminet holding The Bell is because old school divers helmets are also known as Diver’s Bells! Either that’s some serious attention to detail or quite the coincidence.
Just an Idea, but the three siblings may only have one common parent. That would explain Lynette's Catgirl appearance. Or it could be that only the females have cat-like traits while the males of the family have normal appearances. That would mean the gene exists in the X chromosome similar to how the gene for a cat's calico coat resides in the X chromosome.

The siblings are so interesting to me. Like what if they were orphans and are working with/being forced to help Arlecchino. And act 1 is us meeting them and act 2 is a betrayal while act 3 is them deciding to help us (or more condensed version). Or maybe they see us as a way to be free from the Fatui.
I really want to have Lyney and Lynette on the same team, but I’m not sure if I have enough pity and primos to get Lyney. Also, I need Koko on my alt since I have no hydro, so I probably won’t get him until his rerun 😭
No worries that’s a wise choice. A sup like kokomi will always be more useful and flexible than a pure dps like liney or yoimiya, for example. Not to mention kokomi is also a healer and hydro is one of the most op elements in the game. So you made the right choice here dw

To me it seems like Freminet is the robot (it's mostly his constellation name that convinced me) and Lynette, growing up with him, heard him say stuff like "entering stand-by mode" which got people to leave him alone for a while. So she started to copy him

I think the Automaton constellation shouldn't be taken literally. As of now, all characters' constellations were more like intricate descriptions. If we were to assume he is truly an automaton, then we should follow that logic and assume Alhaitham is a flying vulture and not a human, and do that for the rest of the characters too, including Lyney and Lynette.

Only we DON’T know who Sandrone is. I’m not sure where you got that we “know” her identity. Was it revealed in 3.8? Because we DEFINITELY didn’t know it before 3.8.
A little bit off topic but I'm particularly interested in their relationship. We've seen snippets of Lyney and Lynette and Freminet respectively, but we haven't really got much insight on them as a whole. So far, Lyney and Lynette haven't mentioned their younger brother, and Freminet in turn hasn't mentioned his older siblings. I know we only got a few voice lines and there'll probably be more soon but it's just been weighing down on my mind for a while and I haven't been able to let it go.

I mean, the cat genes could just be recessive. Idk why people are so intent on trying to figure out why Lynette has cat ears and a tail but not Lyney. They’re not identical twins. They can’t be, they’re a different sex, so by definition, they cannot be identical. They don’t have the exact same genes. It’s possible one inherited the feline genes and not the other. They also look too similar to not actually be twins, and have met at the orphanage. I can see Freminet having different bio parents than the twins. But Lyney and Lynette? Nah.
That said, wouldn’t it be fucked up if both Freminet and Lynette were automatons and Lyney was the only real human?
Thats what I was thinking, everyone was thinking she was a puppet just because she had cat ears and Lyney didn't, but its very common for fraternal twins to inherit different features from each other.

I was thinking about "masquerade of the guilty" as a name, theres a possibility if very small that the fatui plan to replace (or already have done) people in fontaine with robot copies. That way arlechinno was actually talking to the replacement bots being "actors" and not the actual siblings. Maybe focalors herself has already been replaced and she's imprisoned somewhere(bit of wacky theory I know). It's also possible that lyney and lynette simply have the same mother and different fathers (or vice versa) which is why lynette has katzein genes.
I feel like Freminet might have been experimented on, but not Lyney and Lynette considering he seems to be exceptional at swimming, more than a regular human, not to mention the mechanical motifs used in his design, also spoiler warning ahead? I looked at voice lines and it is mentioned he may have some sort of rough past which I think would make sense. I personally find this super interesting and hope for some kind of an interesting backstory like this, but also hope not for his sake I do like the idea that it’s just his natural personality. I it would make sense for him to feel so different from his siblings and like an outcast.
I'm praying hoyo don't screw this up. Not just this, the whole Fonraine chapter for that matter. Please don't be Inazuma 2.0 🤞😞🤞

I think with the idea of subverting expectations and having your attention being where they want it, the twist will be the sister playing a more major role. I mean, anemo is the calling card of the traveler's ally pretty much right? Lol
They might just consider themself siblings because they all grew up in the same orphanage, not because they are related.

Why do you think they were preforming for Arlecchino? To me, because of their cutouts, it seems like watched the show from afar and is now contemplating it. Privately critiquing it by saying "I'll show you real acting".
I feel like Lynette is completely differeht from lyney and freminent, she has different color tones, cat tail/ears, and strikingly purple eyes. Latest personal theory is they all came to the orphanage and perhaps Lynette was hurt and/or they experimented on her, maybe straight up replaced her with a katheryne like bot. I think lyney will not accept his twin isnt the same and freminent knows somethings wrong with her.
I think Lynette sold her soul for something important. The reason that she’s the black cat is because she tainted her own self to get what she wants ig.
I really hope that they are somehow using Arlechino as much as she is using them like they have a deal to escape some social problems in Fontaine and later with the traveler they can overcome both

It would be cool if they are indeed working for arlechino and being her spies the whole time, also I heard theory about lyney being the only orphan spy , lunette - dottore experiment, send to help lyney and ferminent being a sandrone's robot doll like Katherine, as you said sent to learn more for the underwater ruins and etc
I believe that sandrone 100% should be main character here and why not being the creator of one of the siblings
I want tons of plot twists and the Siblings being double agents working for and against the Fatuii would be pretty great.

I really think that the Mission line was said by Lyney and not Freminet, at least in the EN version it sounded a lot more like Lyney. I’ll have to go back and listen to the other versions to double check.

The most important detail here is thing, that they'll be playable in 4.0. If they're Arlecchinos actors, who help her, they need to betray her really quickly. So I think either this theories aren't true or Fontaine first act(or two, depending how many will be released) will be really interesting, with many twists and turns. Yes there's an option, hoyoverse can lock few of their stories and voicelines until release of the next act. But with theories this crazy idk if it's possible

something that also intrigued me is that freminet has the ‘pneuma’ vision case, whilst lyney and lynette both have ‘ousia’ vision cases. from what i’ve heard they are like the two ‘factions’ of fontaine one being light and one being dark. maybe freminet dosent really get along with the other two siblings or renounces them in some way, or it could be the other way round? idk, i just think that perhaps the three siblings don’t agree on some things or that freminet left the orphanage whilst lyney and lynette stayed giving them different fates and views.
Actually Lyney and Freminet both have Pneuma vision. It is Lynette who's different from having Ousia vision.
