When the crowd sings together, CHILLS. Dave said the great thing about that is that you can sing a song to 100,000 people and they’ll sing it back for 100,000 different reasons

The passing of Taylor is heartbreaking... He and Dave were as close as brothers.
Love the Foos Forever. The live shows these guys put on are the stuff of legends. When most musicians only do 60-75 minute sets, these guys do 2 hours... AT MINIMUM! And even over 3 hours on occasion. They've played until someone shuts off power to the amps... LITERALLY!
They give top shelf energy at every show, played through injury, and had shows that were measured on the F*&KING RICHTER SCALE!
    ABSOLUTE, REAL-LIFE LEGENDS!
BTW, Taylor was the 2nd drummer for the Foo Fighters.

I'm just glad I got to meet him at the xgames when chevy metal played .. I thought him a beer and we talked about music for like 5 minutes... he was just a chill ass dude. A year before that I drove 6 hours to Chicago to watch Foo Fighters at Wrigley standing on the field. I'm fucking heartbroken 💔. Taylor is the reason I started playing the drums 15 years ago. I met Dave and Taylor in 2017 when they played the venue where I was the head of security. We had just finished the security meeting with Foo Fighters tour security in catering back stage where we talked about what to expect, get set lists, etc. Dave and Taylor came in and got some drinks and sat down with me and the venue GM and asked how we were doing. Talk got around to my being a drummer since 1967 and we spoke about that a little. They left and we went and did our thing. When I got to my office after the show there was an autographed drum head from Taylor slid under my door. How freaking cool was that. Taylor could play any style from jazz, to blues, to pop, to death metal and everything in between. It sucks that he is gone and his demons got the best of him.

I can’t even express how happy I am to see you guys react to this. His and Dave Grohls relationship was soooo tight! He actually told Dave he wanted to play for them since Alanis was a solo act. She fully supported him in doing so and they also kept a close relationship as friends. So many amazing songs you should react too. Even his last performance he sang a song while Dave played drums while they performed Queens “Somebody to Love”. Watching them talk back and forth was so heartwarming and now bittersweet. Truly a talent and someone gone far too soon. My Hero was also done soooo well along with many other songs live from their Wembley performance which I also recommend.

    More Taylor Tuesdays!
I got to see Foo Fighters play Georgia State Stadium back in 2018. We were like 10 or 15 feet from the stage. They rocked for like 2 and a half hours. Easily the loudest, hardest rocking show I've ever seen. Taylor rocking out on drums with a 'I saw your momma dancing at the Clermont Lounge' tank top on.

When the first Foo drummer quit, Taylor heard about it. He had met Dave and wanted to be in the band. He called Dave and said “I heard you’re looking for a drummer”. Dave asked if he knew of any who were available. Dave didn’t think Taylor would want to leave a huge act to come to join what was then a modest band.

The extended version should include Dave and Taylor and Russia's producer of their last record in Cosplay as Rush Circa 1976... Kimonos and all... In his autobiography Dave Grohl mentions that they became friends since they met when Taylor was Alanis' drummer, and that they got along so great that whenever they played the same festival or event and Alanis saw them hanging out together she always asked half-jokingly when he has gonna quit her band to join the Foo Fighters. Supposedly she also told Taylor when Dave Grohl wasn't present that she was sure he was eventually going to ask him to join the Foo Fighters.

This song makes me cry when the first sentence is sung, due to Taylor’s passing. “Too alarming now….to talk about.”
Taylor’s smile lit up the world and his ferocious talent behind the kit set it on fire. He and Dave were brothers. Straight from Dave’s mouth. I’ve only mourned the loss of two people I didn’t know. Robin Williams and Taylor Hawkins. Such a great guy. You won’t find anyone to say different. I’m still gutted. My heart has literally been ripped from my chest over Taylor’s death. Also, I hurt for Dave. He lost Kurt. Now he loses his very best friend in the entire world? How much is the man supposed to take. Fly high Oliver Taylor Hawkins. Love for Alison, Oliver Shane, Annabelle, and Everleigh. She’ll never know what a legend her Daddy was. 🥺 May God bless Taylor’s family, the Grohl’s, his band mates, and all of the fans that will never get over this loss.

Taylor gets a lot of love because he was like Dave's little brother. They both would switch instruments and both would sing. They both encouraged fans to come on stage and play so he found a place in peoples hearts for just being a goofy all around cool guy. He was a jack of all trades to be honest, def gone too soon, drugs killin our heroes off way too early.
Taylor joined FF in late 96 early 97 for the record that took them to the main stage. So you can say he had a lot to do with it since. To be honest I haven't heard much from their first album without him, but I've had every album starting with "The Colour and the Shape" which had Billboard charters in it. If you haven't seen the original video for "Everlong" you need to check it out. Taylor is the damsel in distress lol. You can tell all of these guys have a blast playing. Same with Car Karaoke with James Corbin, funny as hell before all the late night shows went to woke writing and terrible jokes.
You could designate a day for the Foo Fighters and have tons of hits to cover every month. They're so easy to listen to.

This live concert was super amazing. The foo fighters are an amazing band.
It's so sad that Taylor died so young. To some 50 is not young but to me 50 is still too young to die.

Love you guys. Watch Hero Live at Wembley but please watch Best Of You live at Wembley, Dave cries, Taylor and he have an amazing moment (they always do). You’ll love it. I bought the Wembley concert doc, next best thing to being with the Foo's live.
While so many of us loved on him when he was Alive, I think Taylor wouldn’t believe his own legacy and this outpouring, he’s (was 😞 I have to remind myself) so humble. He was pure joy.

And Dave grohl lead singer and guitar was in band nirvana he played drums in that band . This song was in great football movie varsity blues its a great song they played it when they got rid of the coach in the movie and they were making the big comeback to win. Taylor Hawkins also played in band with Alanis Morissette and his son Shane learned from watching his dad and playing just like him Taylor Hawkins was mad crazy on drums his son did amazing job in this video. his son played amazing crazy good the feelings into the song like he said at beginning he never seen someone play drums so hard he went off on song he was feeling it I fn loved watching this when was on live amazing I did cry as I lost my dad and brother both within 24 hours I was rocking out to this feeling it as well are your daddy and you and your family proud amazing. keep playing Shane hope to see him more in future he's got that magic gift like his dad did as well . my bad before I watched video I commented I thought you did the video were his son filled in for him at the tribute concert

Dave and Taylor were some of the best drummers in the world, they both play crazy hard and fast for being skinny guys, and would just destroy drum kits.

you guys should check out Them Crooked Vultures. Josh Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss) on lead vocals and guitar, John Paul Jones (of Led Zeppelin) on bass and keyboards, and Dave Grohl (of Foo Fighters and Nirvana) on drums and backing vocals . they only did one album unfortunately.

Actually, Dave asked Taylor if he knew any drummers. Taylor said, “Can I audition?” Dave was like look we’re not as big as Alanis.” Taylor wanted to be in a rock band, and he knew that Alanis was moving in a different direction than he wanted to go. It actually took Alanis a while to get over Taylor leaving.

So my girlfriend at the time used pretty much Facebook for a reputable news source and every once in a while she would mention of a celebrity had passed away. One simple Google search would show that that person is not dead.
And then March 25, 2022 happened. She said that the drummer for the Foo Fighters had passed away. One simple Google search showed that he was not..........the one time - the one fucking time - that I wished she was wrong. I never got to meet him or see him banging on the drums is most definitely a regret of mine. Like Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston or Robin Williams, Taylor Hawkins' death is (to me at least) one of those out of nowhere deaths that you still can't believe it happened. I couldn't even watch any of the tribute shows because I don't do sadness and I would be crying the entire time. He is one of the GOATs on the drums and you can see just how influential and beloved he was when you see how many people came together and celebrated his legacy.
Even though I didn't watch the tribute shows, everyone said that "You gotta at least watch the video of his son playing 'My Hero' with the Foos," which I did and it's probably the video that I've watched the most on TH-cam.
He is most definitely missed by everyone on this planet. There was no other like him and there will never be anyone like him.

You guys need to check out the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert. Taylor's teenage son Shane plays drums on this song and fucking kills it. Dave had a tough time making it through but i think he knew he had to for Shane. He is a chip off the old block, he did his Dad proud.
