I was picked by my peers to ride on the Alhambra 2017 Rose Parade Float for my city. I have worked for the fire department for 31 years. The theme for the float was Fire Department. It was one of my greatest experiences. We stood on the float for 4 hours waving and saying hi to thousands of people. Guess what song they played over and over and over? You guessed it, MY HERO!
Very cool reaction from both of you & I completely agree with you that this song makes you feel powerful in a good way. A very upbeat, moving, positive song. Keep up the awesome work you two, really a great reaction.
The Foos always have great videos, to my mind the best one is for the song "Walk". The video is an amusing parody of the movie "Falling Down" and is well worth watching. The song is great too :)
God bless al the men and women who lay there lives on the line daily to protect America armed forces police emt's fireman and to anyone else I may have forgotten that put our safety before there own
I chose to take my 9 year old Alaskan Malamute on a 500kn walking in nothern sweden. I was frozen AF. He warmed me when I collapsed ......he will alway be my hero. Literally saved my life several times when I got overconfident.
You should do a reaction to the version of this from the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert with his 16 year old son, Shane Hawkins playing drums. So emotional.
According to Dave Grohl, the song is dedicated to ordinary, everyday heroes, as he himself never had musical or sports heroes growing up as a child. During Foo Fighters' appearance on VH1 Storytellers in 2009, Grohl explained that the song was written while watching 1980s movies like Valley Girl. Grohl also stated that the song was written about Pete Stahl and Chip Donaldson, without even knowing it. Many people think that the song is about Grohl's close friend and former Nirvana band-mate Kurt Cobain, in 1997, Grohl said, "There's definitely an element of Kurt in that song". In a 1999 interview on The Howard Stern Show, co-host Robin Quivers said "I think it is about Kurt Cobain," to which Grohl replied, "Hmm, maybe.
I was surprised she got that! If you find her reaction to Nirvana the man who sold the world unplugged she points it out with the quickness. She didn't even know what band he was in, she just recognized his face.
dont let the videos distract you...often the stories have nothing to do with the actual song close your eyes and let the music take you on the journey meant by the artist ;-)
This was the only Foo Fighters video which featured guitarist Franz Stahl who had been in a band called Scream, which had Dave Grohl on drums prior to the latter joining Nirvana. Stahl didn't play on the recording, that was Pat Smear and didn't make it onto the subsequent Foo Fighters album "There's nothing left to lose" because the band couldn't get a groove going with him, it simply didn't fit. So exit Stahl.
No one wants to hear that bullshit man.. Jesus Christ,, do u know what actual MUSIC is???? It doesnt consist of "bitch n---a shoot a gat" Wake the fuck up. That shit promotes violence
Pat Coats It's a song about everyday heroes. He's said that that could include Kurt, but it's not specifically about Kurt, nor was it written with Kurt in mind
"He's ordinary" is a great line.
My friend played "the hero" in this video.

You never see his face. Most Heroes we'll never know, who they are and what they did.
Always loved the beginning of this song those pounding drums and guitar

Probably the first time I’ve seen the official video. Varsity Blues is what comes to mind when this starts for me.
