Dave has an incredible ability to connect with an audience. He has incredible charisma and energy on stage. The dude is nonstop with his jumping and head banging and bouncing just an incredible performer. It’s very hard to choose between legends. They both deserve it. Taylor Hawkins was the drummer for Alanis Morissette before them
In 2015, Dave Grohl fell off the stage two songs into the show in Sweden and broke his leg. There was a doctor in the audience. The doctor told him his leg was broken and he needed to go to the hospital to have it set. Dave refused because his fans paid to see them and he played two and a half hours sitting in a chair with the doctor holding his leg so it wouldn't sustain more damage. Best part was the look on the doctor's face during the show. Since he was a fan, his grin was priceless. He had the best seat in the house!
The story I heard said he fell off stage, broke his leg, grabbed the mic and told the audience not to go nowhere, that he’d be right back, went and got his leg taken care of, and then came back and finished the snow. And while he was away, it said that Taylor jumped on the mic while Dave was getting taken care of.
Dave is a great frontman, I had the pleasure of seeing two sets (1 accoustic, 1 full) in a single day from them at a festival years ago. Dave was born to be on stage.
Dave has been making music for over 30 years, which is crazy. Drumming for Nirvana, frontman for the Foos for over 25 years, had Paul McCartney induct them into the R&R HOF, and he's worked on a few side projects. One called Them Crooked Vultures had him, Josh from Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin. He's a hell of a songwriter and his interaction with the fans and bandmates is great. He's one of the best of the modern era and no sign of stopping.
i mean… they sold out wembley freakin stadium. that concert about killed me when Dave started crying. what a fantastic moment to be captured on camera.
The Jodie Foster movie what's Taxi Driver. The same movie that gave us the famous Robert de Niro quote: "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking... you talking to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? OK."
My wife surprised me with tickets to a Foo Fighters show in Knoxville,TN back in 2017, and it was phenomenal! It felt like they played an hour before taking a breath let alone a water break. They have these extended outros to most of their songs, and they still played another 4-5 songs after the encore.
Best of You Live at Wembley is one of their greatest performances ever. It blows this out of the water and Everlong is one of my favorite songs of all time.
You just see how much Dave truly loves what he does. He treats every audience like friends and is so humble. No fancy, flashy tactics needed. He dances and doesn’t care how he may not have the best moves, because he just feels it! Has fun! That’s a true, pure joy kinda frontman. I love the entire band, but you couldn’t find a more genuine frontman than Dave ❤
Looks like that was Glastonbury, which is a huge festival show. HUGE festival show! After all the years of being the singer of the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl still considers himself a drummer. His approach to being a frontman is the best… he said something to the effect of, “when you stop being ‘super man entertainer guy’ and it’s just you and your pals onstage playing for your rowdy friends, and you’re the guy with the microphone, that’s when it gets fun to me.” Taylor Hawkins played drums for Alanis Morissette before he was in the Foo Fighters. The Coattail Riders was a side project of his, after he was already famous. That movie featuring a very young Jodie Foster was Taxi Driver (with Robert DeNiro). Her character was named Iris 😊
Definitely Glastonbury. I watched this one live on T.V. 200000 plus tickets were sold for that year so yeah, pretty goddamn huge! When I went in 99 it was smaller but still 100000 plus.
The Foo Fighters had been on my bucket list of concerts to see since they started and I finally had tickets to see them in July 2022. Very heart broken I wasn’t able to after Taylors passing a few months before. 💔💔
You’re not alone. I bought my boyfriend tickets for us to see FF in July 2022 in Philly for Christmas. He’s a huge Nirvana fan. The morning the news of Taylor’s passing started spreading, I was in tears. It was a punch to the gut.
Dave Grohl 100% belongs to be recognized as one of the best frontman of ALL TIME. I saw them live back in 2018 at the old Turner Field. Foo Fighters go hard and do an incredible live show. Dave Grohl is a certified rock star.
BeforeFoo Fighters the Drummer played for Alannis Morissette ,and before her it was another Canadian Rocker he played for Sass Jordan , Sass Gave Taylor his start she hired him when he was working in a music store
Dave is widely known as “the nicest man in rock.” to the point where if you google “nicest man in rock” he is pretty much all of the results 😂 he’s also phenomenally talented. he can literally do it all. fun fact: their backstage rider is a freaking coloring book.
There's a beautiful video of a foo fighters performance where in the middle of the last song the venue kills the PA. So they finished the song with stage volume and the audience singing
In 2008 the Foo Fighters played at Wembley Stadium. It was one of the largest concerts the stadium has ever held with something like 85,000 people at the show. They are one of the biggest rock bands in the world right now and can sell out 50,000+ venues all the time.
If you want to fully understand Dave's talent, check out the metal album he created by the name Probot. He wrote all the songs and played all the instruments and had well known guest metal vocalists for each song( Lemmy and King Diamond for example), and he wrote each song in the style of the guest vocalist.
Dave isn't just a great frontman. He is a great human being. He's lost his 2 closest friends in life, he has 2 genre changing, world famous band and has NOT let an ounce of that get to him or effect his ego. He does not think he's better than anyone because he is famous or rich or, even worse, used that money and fame and turned into another Kurt, Chris, or Layne from that time. He connects with the crowd no matter where they are playing. He broke his leg at the beginning of a show, while he was on the ground, told the crowd to just hold on. An hour later returned and played the show for them. About a month later does another show, still broken leg, in a Game of Thrones style throne but made of guitars. And all that aside, just the way he pushes and motivates all the up-and-coming musicians. Dave is known for calling people out of the crowd and letting them join and play with them on stage. Or just look up Nandi Bushnell and Dave Grohl, that speaks for itself
This song came out when I was going through a really painful breakup and hit me so fucking hard. "Breathe out so I can breathe you in" still cuts me to this day.
_The world's greatest rock band. Period. Best songs. Best shows. Best guys._ And then... we lost Taylor. And the rock world mourned. And the rappers and the orchestras and the folk singers and the FANS - we all mourned. We still do. Seeing him smiling, so happy.... seems like a lovely dream that was *_just a dream._* DRUGS SUCK! Fight against the stigma of addiction! Let people get help without shame or apology. And, please, keep an eye on those you love. Drugs will grab you by the throat in a week, and getting 'em off ya is damn near impossible. But I did. And I so desperately wish Taylor did, too. FOO FIGHTERS FOREVER! 💖
I think people need to appreciate his amazing work on drums like Nirvana, Queens of the Stone age "Songs for the death" album, Killing Joke album from 2003 and Them Crooked Vultures. I'm sure that there is more but he is one of the most talented musicians ever especially being in the Rock and Roll hall of fame for 2 different bands. Not many can say that.
The first Foo Fighters album was completely written and performed by Dave. Didn't bring in other musicians until the second album, so yes he can and did do everything.
Taylor was playing for Alanis Morrissett in the early 90s when he and Dave met, Alanis knew the Nirvana guys, and told them that Dave and Taylor would get along great, and a few years later, Dave was starting Foo Fighters and called Taylor.
As for Dave's side stuff, Them Crooked Vultures are something of a super-group. He's worked a good amount with Queens of the Stone Age and Tenacious D. Don't think he wrote/composed for them, but he's been a big part of their collectives.
My god, I love Dave Grohl. His love and enthusiasm for music is infectious. I would say Foo Fighters are alternative rock, not pop. Dave is also in supergroup Them Crooked Vultures with John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. He drums and does some backing vocals in that band.
It was a festival, they closed it out. It was also broadcast all over the world. You have to check him out being carried on stage with a broken leg. Joins mid-song.
I love this song. My favorite version is the acoustic version. on the "Skin & Bones" live album. It's incredible to hear the audience sing "If everything could ever be this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when" Some of the greatest lyrics ever written
Taylor Hawkins was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette's album 'Jagged Little Pill' before Foo Fighters. Jagged Little Pill has sold over 33 million copies worldwide for reference. Taylor also features in the music video for the lead single 'You Oughta Know'.
This was Glastonbury festival in England and they were absolutely the headliners for that night. Glastonbury is one of the biggest and most legendary music festivals of all time really. I watched a video about assembling this event and it takes months, and there are many different stages, so people have many options to go see different bands and different types of music.
You guys are hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you guys need to react to more foo fighters, you can't go wrong. Before foo fighters Taylor was the drummer for Alanis morrisette,Dave grohl is one of the best humans,so genuine 🤘🤘

Maybe Robert Smith connects more with the audience (but is not as flashy so people don't recognize it, but when I saw The Cure live in 2013 it was a concert under torrential rain and 17000 people were there, mesmerised, not worried about being soaked, for a full 42 song set) but in general terms, Grohl is probably the best out there. It saddens me to think that I may not see them live ever, but I cannot fathom how they would carry on without Taylor (may his memory be for a blessing).
Without reading all the comments, Taylor Hawkins was in Alanis Morrisette's back up band. You can see him on the drums in the video you reacted to of her's. The song is You Oughta Know
I totally want to see you react to Ren - The Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full) not only because the 3 songs are amazing, but to see you try to get Smokie to guess the name.
Guys , you should give a chance to react to The Warning band. ⚡ They cover everlong 8 years ago and in 2022 they opened for The Foo's in Mexico City. 🤟 two weeks before the passing of Taylor Hawkins ( RIP ) .
Dave is really into barbecue, and brings his smoker out to cook for firefighters fighting the forest fires as well as a local shelter feeding the homeless on Super Bowl Sunday and when the rains hit LA a few weeks ago.
Foo Fighters may be the biggest rock band currently, but I feel that ALTER BRIDGE is the finest! Check out the epic “Fable of the Silent Son” from their latest album out in October, Pawns and Kings.
Dave Grohl is an amazing front-man, guitarist & drummer. More importantly, he’s an amazing person. Just a class act & one of the few true remaining rock stars. I’ve seen Foo live 5x & they’re always incredible. One time, Dave allowed a fan to come up on stage during this song & propose to his long time girlfriend, the crowd went wild!
Do more Foo so I can come back. Also…do “My Hero” featuring 16yr old Shane Hawkins on drums in place of his dad (Foof drummer Taylor who passed last year). And yes……best live band ever. IMO
A bunch of years ago Dave Grohl side project called Pro b o t where is God together with his favorite heavy metal lead singers I made a song with each one of them check out the one he did with Lemmy from Motorhead
As far as I know Taylor was the drummer for Alanis Morrisette before he joined the FF. Ans yeah that was a festival. It was Glastonbury. And don't worry they were the headline act no one had the shame of following that one!
RIP Taylor Hawkins. He was an amazingly charismatic drummer. He was like a second front man in Foo Fighters...
Dave has an incredible ability to connect with an audience. He has incredible charisma and energy on stage. The dude is nonstop with his jumping and head banging and bouncing just an incredible performer. It’s very hard to choose between legends. They both deserve it.

@@SpyderOne1981 that's correct, he was gone for an hour. The doctor had to hold Dave's leg when he was back though, guess it wasn't plastered
Taylor's biggest gig before FF was being the drummer for Alanis Morissette when she was huge.

The Jodie Foster movie what's Taxi Driver. The same movie that gave us the famous Robert de Niro quote:

The first trivia question is referring to Jodi Foster in the movie Taxi Driver starring Robert Deniro. Scorsese directed.

Dave's performance at Wembley is epic. What had to be at least 80,000 people hanging on every word of Everlong. Sent shivers down my spine.

Same! First time I had tickets, the tour got canceled due to the pandemic. Got tickets for the next tour and then… Taylor passed 😔💔
Me too. I have tickets to see them this May. Kinda holding my breath.
You’re not alone. I bought my boyfriend tickets for us to see FF in July 2022 in Philly for Christmas. He’s a huge Nirvana fan. The morning the news of Taylor’s passing started spreading, I was in tears. It was a punch to the gut.
Can't believe the dude has not seen the movie *Taxidriver?* *- Are you talking to ME???* DeNiro's best role ever. Jodie Foster's role was small.
I have the lyric "waste away with me" tattooed on my forearm.
The movie was “Taxi Driver” with Robert DeNiro.
Glastonbury is probably the biggest festival in the world and to headline that in the UK is massive.
I love how Dave joked “What’s going on? Are we getting knighted?” as they apparently didn’t understand the hugeness of Glastonbury 😆
I haven't seen Metallica live, but Foo Fighters I have and it was worth every God damn penny I spent, down to those fees. It was great.
Love the Foo Fighters ❤

and the disco album! they did a whole album as the “Dee Gees” called Hail Satin and it’s amazing.

Love this❣️
There is just something about being at a rock concert jammin and singing with the band!!
RIP Taylor. 🥺
Very few bands ever reach this level
With DG, there’s no gimmicks or antics, it’s just Dave being Dave. An awesome human being doing what he was created to do.
This song came out when I was going through a really painful breakup and hit me so fucking hard. "Breathe out so I can breathe you in" still cuts me to this day.
100%.
Rest in peace, Taylor ❤️🔥
Go watch Tach Taxi Driver!! It is truly iconic!! You will see a very very famous scene in it!!

I was very fortunate to see the Foo Fighters on their 2021 North American tour in Fairbainks, Alaska. RIP Taylor Hawkins.
The movie with Jodie Foster was "Taxi Driver" with Robert DeNiro. It's where the infamous line "You talkin' to me?" came from. Love y'all!! 🙂❤
Dave did do the studio drums for about half the tracks on the second Queens of the Stone Age record, he is even in the video for ‘No One Knows’
Smokey got jokes today 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He also drummed on a some of Queens of the Stone Age stuff. Plus he's done a heavy metal side project. He's been everywhere really
Dave is a phenomenal frontman.
fun fact! dave grohl helped produce ghosts EP of “if you have ghost”, it’s fun to see them colliding!
RIP TH ♥️ FOO FIGHTERS ♥️🤘🔥💪 next time try My Hero, Pretender. Greatings Guys 🤘
I love this song. My favorite version is the acoustic version. on the "Skin & Bones" live album. It's incredible to hear the audience sing
"If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when"

I was playing with RC cars with DMX, and ended up in a prayer circle with his mom. It was crazy day!
Dave was also in "Queens of The Stone Age"., "Tenacious D", and some others I can't think of.
Dave also respects the greats like Queen, even play thier songs in concert. on a side note he also produced some songs for GHOST

Dave met Taylor on tour when he was drumming for this Canadian artist... ALANIS MORRISETTE!
Taylor was drumming for Alanis morriset
Dave Grohl is a super talented guy and a true music lover and fan.
Seeing The Foo Fighters live was so much fun and Dave drives the show.
Dave also has the respect of almost every musician including the legends.
He’s recorded with SO many people!
Dave’s got my vote!
Gotta do a reaction to this song live at Wembley, 90K fans, totally different intro and vibe.
Awesome🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love love love
I got fn goosebumps listening to it nkw and thinking about taylor hawkins and i am so pissed at myself for not going to see them 3 years ago in montreal... might never get the chance now :(
Dave Ghrol has a very Jeff Lynne type of voice. Even in style. He can sing soft and he can growl out a verse.
As a frontperson (Stage presence and command, charisma, energy…) it's hard to beat Dave Grohl. Dave Grohl is a gift from the Music Gods and the Ambassador of Rock!!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🎹🥁🎤🎙🎧🤘🤘🤘
Taylor Hawkins was also the drummer for Alanis Morissette. Check out the video for her song “You oughta know”
SO MUCH more nine inch nails y'all need to check out. So much gold in the discography.

He was a drummer for Alanis Morissette
Taylor played with Alannis Morrisette also.

As far as I know Taylor was the drummer for Alanis Morrisette before he joined the FF. Ans yeah that was a festival. It was Glastonbury.
And don't worry they were the headline act no one had the shame of following that one!
