    "No one knows where the Visorak came from or why. Those few who have mastered their language claim that Visorak means 'stealers of life' and others say it means 'poisonous scourge.' Either way, no truer words have been spoken. Fear them, for they are a plague upon the land, leaving nothing but pain and fear behind them. "

      I love this description, and all its retcons make it just that much more fun. By the end of the series we learn they were a Rahi species created by Makuta Chirox on an island roughly where Mata Nui's left hand should be. They were always intended to be an army; there was a summoning beacon originally used to assemble the horde, and in one of the later story serials it's used to throw them all into a volcano.
      Don't let anybody ever tell you Toa don't kill.

    I’ve always loved the villains in bionicle even through they’re all essentially the same toy with different colors you have to give credit to the interesting lore and different powers they have. They could’ve just been a giant useless horde but instead they’re given different powers and made it to be extremely qualified hunters and a genuine threat to the Toa.

    I left a Visorak container open on accident and forgot it was there for a few months, and one day I went looking for it.
    It was filled with spider webs, and even had a couple spiders inside.
    I guess it really is the perfect environment for a spoder, LEGO knew what they were doing when designing these canisters.

    Similarly to the Toa Hordika, the Visorak were released at different times of year depending on region. They were released in Summer of that year in North America, but six months earlier in Europe and Australia. Though not my first ever Bionicle set, Vohtarak (Red) was the first one I obtained within its respective year of release. I would obtain the others during the following year, except Keelerak-which I still find strange considering that my favorite color is green. Four of the Visorak have the same eye colors as their respective Hordika, while Vohtarak and Oohnorak (Black) are different. The image on the instructions of two of these is also different than what is shown on the front of the canister. These sets introduced a plethora of new recolors, including the exclusive appearance of the double socket piece introduced with the Toa Metru in brown, and the first of five appearances of it in earth blue/Metru blue. They also introduced a longer double socket piece-which would be used in many other sets over the next few years, even if it appeared the most often in black and dark stone. Oohnorak (8744) in particular, introduced a color known as "flame yellow" to Bionicle, but this shade is often referred to as "Keet-orange" because of its prevalence in one of the Titan sets from this year. This Visorak also contains Bohrok eyes in transparent yellow, which were never used in another set after this. Similarly, Vohtarak and Suukorak (White) mark the final appearances of the Bohrok eyes in transparent green and transparent light blue, though the latter was also in two parts "tubs" after this. The feet of these in brown, Metru green and white are exclusive to their respective Visorak, while the other three would appear at least five other times. These are the final appearances of the Toa Metru knee armor in five of their respective colors, with only the Metru green ones being seen after this. Boggarak marks the debut of the Rahkshi leg piece in Metru blue, while Roporak marks the final standard appearance of the Vahki legs in brown (notice a pattern yet with this color?). The pinchers on both of these are exclusive to their sets, while the others would make other appearances in the minifigure-scale Bionicle sets released between this year and '07. Two of these include recolors of the shells of Vohtarak and Keelerak in gold. Three of the Visorak introduce recolors of the '99 Slizer limbs in Mata red, medium blue/maya blue and orange (two of which are exclusive to their respective sets), as well as the second and final appearance of it in lime green. Suukorak marks the final appearance of the hand socket piece in Mata blue, but Vohtarak does not mark the final appearance of it in orange. These and Roporak also mark the final standard appearances of the Vahki hip piece in white, Metru red and brown.

    • @colinroberts2060
      @colinroberts2060 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as the combiners are considered, they follow the same format as the Hordika, and are the last appearance of the black/red ("Gate Guardian") and green/brown ("Chute Lurker") combinations, but still have the red/black/green and blue/brown/white combinations for the three-model combiners or the "Parakrekks" and "Venom Flyer" respectively. There is also a combiner of all six Visorak at once called the "Zivon" which had instructions first released in the July/August 2005 issue of Brickmaster.

    I quite like these guys, their vibrant color schemes really benefit the sets and the pincer function is very good. It is a shame you didn't have all of the keetorange parts for Oohnorak, and also that they used the fragile rubber bands on the sets. I've had to replace all of them with the current rounded cross section white bands so I can reliably do the function indefinitely.

    A little disappointing that we can't see the combination models this time. Heads-up, combiner models will be phased out very soon for the canister sets. The Visorak always seemed a little overpowerd to me. One hit and you're basically dead or destined to turn into a monster... if there were only a few like the Borok-Kal then I would understand but the fact that there are always huge swarms of these with spinners flying everywhere...

    My brother used to have all of them but they were all lost years ago if it weren’t for the fact that they’re not only next to impossible to find and the ones you can buy are way too expensive with them being basically a collectors item these days I’d get them all again since I liked them that much but the odds of someone just giving away all six of them and giving them to me of all people is as possible as a pig sprouting wings and flying to the moon

    It's so funny how you mention that there's not much height with these spinners, considering the Visorak commercials even advertised them as launching up to 50 feet. Man, was that false advertising

    i really dont think the visorak are better than the Vahki, yes vahki are clone sets, but they had the moving gear function arms, the disk launcher that worked super good, and the spider-like pose wich was also fantastic for display and diversity of poses. also, the combiner models for the vahki are GREAT. with this sets you have a better color scheme and a few pieces differ from one another, the combiners are not that good and you cant pose them too much, i would give the vahki a 7.8 and the visorak a 7.1 at most.
    in another note, i really was expecting the combiners, brings a lot of fresh vibe and interesting new things to see in the review or things that are not seen that often, if you have to delay mata-nui mondays 1 day its ok, but dont drop the quality please!

    • @CausticSpace
      @CausticSpace ปีที่แล้ว

      Vahki are really overhated and I dont really know why, but the good part about that is even new sets are cheap so I should maybe keep quiet.
