2014-2021 Kia Sedona Power Sliding Door Trouble Shooting! Door won't latch. Door won't open. 2018

There have been three problems with this door! First problem is that it wouldn't close all the way - you needed to help it close. It turned out that one of the bearing rollers was completely busted. I followed the TSB to get the panels off, and then there's only 3 bolts holding it on.

How did you manage to open the locked door? I’m having the same issue but cannot replace the motor as the door won’t open even on manual mode.

You have to take off the back panel to get to the motor. Once you unclip the wires from the door, or unspool the motor if that's what is broken, the door will open. Follow one of the TSBs I posted in the comments to see how to do that. It's a tough job, you'll break some clips, but they can be replaced.
Now if its a lock that won't open, that's a different story, maybe the latch system at the door handle has a snapped cable and it's not triggering the unlock spring on the door latch. Take off the inside door panel and inspect that first.

@@matthewkarabela3195 The cables wound unevenly on the spool and got jammed. I had to replace the entire unit.

I took out the rubber plugs (there are 3) on the sliding door. It closes by itself 9 times out of 10 now.

There is a recall for those sliding doors.

Kia Canada offers 15 year warranty on the sliding doors

I think only on 2017 or earlier... The dealership said my 2018 was out of warranty
