It's easy enough to reserve a table in advance online and worth doing if you plan to visit at a busier time. Yes, you can get cheaper elsewhere but you are paying for the ambience, the excellent service, the history, and the chance to tell your friends you've dined at one of the most famous and prestigious coffee houses in the world. Like Tea at the Ritz, Cafe Central should be on your bucket list.
We lived near Cafe Central and went there several times. I loved the atmosphere, but it wasn't one of our favorites. Kanzleramt had a topfen Kaisersmarren that I loved. We went there often. We also liked Cafe Mozart and Cafe Landtmann. Our favorite coffee houses were little hole-in-the-wall cafes on the side streets near the Hofburg. Most of those cafes have gone out of business, though. Café Bräunerhof was around the corner from our apartment. We went there twice in the five years we were there and hated it both times.
Thank you for the video. Will you consider doing videos from Carinthia (Kärnten)? I used to live in Spittal an de Drau in 1998. I would like to see videos about going to the lakes and the rules to go to the lake beaches like Millstatter See, Wörthersee, etc.
Cafe Sacher is overhyped. I would never wait in line for a table. There are much better Cafe's in Vienna. It's not a bad Cafe itself, it just went downhill a bit in the last years (service and prices).
mostly tourists go there... better cakes in other coffee houses and better coffee also in other coffee houses... i am born and lived my whole life in Vienna...
Excellent video again. I've subscribed to your newsletter. The cafe locations will be invaluable

Yep there are plenty of alternatives. Cafe central is iconic though and should be experienced at least once.

Niemand interessiert sich für Kärnten
My favourite café in Vienna is café Hawelka. And ofcourse you have to visit café Sacher once in your life for having the famous Sachertorte.
Café hawelka is great. Agree. Not sure about cafe Sacher though 🥴
Wow 😮 sooo beautiful ❤️!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How about Cafe Sacher?

We personally aren’t big fans of cafe Sacher after blind tasting their Sacher cake ➡️🎥
