    I'd like to see a video on museums. One of my favorites is the Military History Museum. There are also several museums that are worth a visit in the Hofburg. I walked past the Schatzkammer several times before I realized what it was. I also enjoyed the Rustkammer and the Musical Instruments Museum. I don't think any visit to Vienna is complete without a visit to the Art History Museum, either.
    I took the sewer tour. It doesn't smell that much because most of it is storm sewers, but there are some sanitary sewers down there, too. The tour is mostly for fans of the movie, "The Third Man", which had some scenes filmed in the sewer. It was interesting, but there are better ways to spend your time in Vienna.

      Thanks for the input! I remember visiting the military history museum as a young student. Definitely need to go back there!
      „There are better ways to spend your time in Vienna“ than in the sewer 😂 sounds right 😂

      @@KhyatiPuria I agree with the verdict about the sewer tour: it showed less of the sewers then I would have expected, and caters more to the fans of that movie. How bad the smell is, depends on the weather situation: I strongly recommend taking the tour on a day with high-prassure weather

      If you're in Vienna and have never seen the Third Man before or haven't seen it in a while, the original English language version is still played in the Burgkino, an old traditional cinema halfway between the opera and the Hofburg, twice a week. I think it's a cool experience to watch that movie before then checking out some of the locations afterwards, like seeing "Harry Lime's house" at Josefsplatz, or taking a ride on the Riesenrad. You don't need to go down to the sewers to relive parts of the movie.

    Bratislava also has vineyards there, there is literally a train station called Bratislava-Vinohrady (and I believe Prague also has those)... Brunnenmarkt I have discovered thanks to your video and got some black / garlic pepper and chilli there, awesome stuff, will definitely return for some coriander and other spices :) (also had some roasted liver in pita, amazing stuff for just 3 euros)

      We definitely have to check out the Bratislava vineyards! Glad you enjoyed the Brunnenmarkt. We just visited it again recently and it's still very much underrated in my opinion.

    We are coming to Vienna tomorrow. Can you suggest us the city card offer for 2days trips?

    • @KhyatiPuria
      @KhyatiPuria  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on what you're planning to see / do. If you just wanna enjoy city center and dive into some sights, the Vienna city card might not bring any value. If you wanna tick off all sights from your list, then the VCC might bring some value.

    sorry Schloss Belvedere was NOT the winter palace (this was the Hofburg). Schloss Belvedere was owned by Prince Eugen which saved austria from the ottoman turks

      The Belvedere is also much smaller than the actual winter palace, the Hofburg. In the "Wagenburg", a museum of the carriages used by the royals, they had several litters or simply chairs that the royals had their servants carry them around in, because the palace was so vast that they'd get tired walking from one side to the other in their fancy clothes. I think that would have been less of a problem in the Belvedere.

    Schönbrunn vs Versailles: while Versailles is the original, and it's beautiful and worth a visit, it's also been plundered a couple of times and very little of the original furniture and miscellaneous paraphernalia survived. Of course it's not completely empty, but I grew up in Vienna and had seen Schönbrunn with its rooms decorated as if the royals were still living there, with tables complete with silverware and ornate dishes, with textiles and paintings lining the walls, and original furniture in every room, and Versailles felt bare in comparison. I think that Schönbrunn might be worth a visit even if you've already seen Versailles. It's got a different kind of charm.
