E40 FUEL TEST! We put E40 in our STOCK 2020 Mustang GT and it picks up big gains over regular 93 gas

- Before we modify Corey's 2020 Mustang GT - we wanted to do a test with ONLY swapping to E40 fuel. I took the car out and made 3 consecutive runs, then drove to fill up with E40 - then went right back to the same exact spots. Within 1 hr, we saw impressive gains! I was expecting around 1 tenth or so due to testing in my other vehicles, but was shocked with these results!

I agree 100%. Real world use cases are what matters most
Yessir. I agree and it's always worked well for me.
I like that you controlled the variables in this test by limiting it to a one gear pull. Good job! Ethanol can really make a difference even in stock cars. Modern computers can adjust to the higher Octane fuel.
Thanks! We have seen gains in every vehicle that I've done ethanol blends in. I'm even using E30 in my daughters equinox 😆
@@MisterDragyE30 in an Equinox is just hilarious. I might need to give my daughter’s Kia Seltos base trim a tune and some E30. Seriously, great work on these videos and tests. You are testing stuff that most people will tell you won’t make a difference. It does as your results clearly show.
I really like those wheels. Car looks great!
Thanks again!
After tuning I picked up 4 tenths 60-130 changing rev limiter from 7700-8200, even with the car losing 40hp from peak at 8.2k rpm.
Good info! Can't wait to see a tune on this thing.
What was ur 60-130 stock ?
@@Subarashii-naniii 11.3 stock

@@Subarashii-naniii manual, it’s in the 8s now
That’s a cool car I want one of those 😅
Most relatable car I’ve seen on ur channel for a normal guy like myself
I'm going to be trying to do alot more tests like these on these type of vehicles.
More octane more timing more power
All the powahhhh
Great test well Saïd.😊😎💪🇨🇦
Thanks!
I would always test the E and not assume. It could be anywhere from E50 to E85 at the pump. Itsjustasix blew an engine for exactly that reason and wasn't even going full throttle, just cruising.
Im good. I like to live on the edge. 🤪
@@MisterDragy Just don't say I didn't warn you. I have a 2020 GT Premium PP1 A10, and tune cars regularly with HP Tuners. There is a reason major tuners got away from the Flex Fuel auto-tunes, they can "stick" to a specific value and get it wrong, leading to engine failure due to detonation. RIght now, your tune is "stuck" to a certain value and you're hoping you get pure 85% from the pump. Get a small bottle and test it each time, go into the tune and change the alcohol % to the actual value if you want to be safe.
In my Corvette, I have a DSX sensor which tells the computer what the actual alcohol percentage is, allowing for any amount of Ethanol, from 0% to 100% and it auto-adjusts. That is how it makes 1,100HP at the crank on E85 and 900hp on 93 octane, safely, no hint of detonation, no crazy fuel trends going lean/rich.
Be careful. You can get away with running that way for a little while, but eventually it will bite you. I definitely wouldn't risk it for a 7.7 -> 7.5 second gain. The testers are cheap, just put the Ethanol in to a point, put water in to the fill line, shake it. Watch it mix and then settle. Where the settle line is, that will be your percentage. Go in and change it in the computer, you're all good (until the next fill up). I'm going to wait until I put twin turbos on the GT before I start messing with E85. Hopefully there is a way to input the actual data into the computer like I can on the LS engine/PCM. HP Tuners may be able to take some random input that isn't being used, and if it is connected to an ADC (analog to digital converter), may be able to designate that as the E85 pin and if you get a DSX unit calibrated properly, it should technically work. If they haven't done it by now they probably won't, but who knows.
@@speedycpu I'll make sure you let you know that I didn't listen 😜
Looks like it also shaved off about 28 to 30 feet of shorter distance to reach 115mph. I might add in some e85 to my stock 3.5 Raptor lol.
Yep!
So mod for mod s550 quicker than s650?
Im going to dig into my previous tests and see how they compare on single gear runs
@ yes please. End this debate
what size tire wheels look good?
I'll try and look tonight.
What radar you use ?
The very best ones. 👌
Oh, I thought it was gonna be E 40, Earl Tywone Stevens. Maybe, testing fuel in a Mustang GT. There is scientific data out there in peer review papers, scholarly data, that reports there is no definitive and consistent advantage to ethanol with cooling until E60. And if it's E60, what is the other 40? Why not just use race gas or VP Maddative octane booster? Not hard to put a bottle in the tank and end up with 100 octane and no mixing. I did some pump gas fuel testing of my own and I can confidently say Costco pump gas is garbage in my state. Curiously, the best gas came from an Indian reservation gas station. After investigating I found out it is fresh Shell gas shipped straight from the port nearly every day. Shell gas once again ends up the best pump gas. If you do more testing with pump, please use Shell.
No one cares about cooling in a scenario like this. I'll take the fuel from the pump that's 98 octane and 20%+ oxygenated. 😀
