mmToolParts shows you how to replace the power switch, control module and field (stator) assembly on your DeWalt cordless worm drive saw. DeWalt sells these all as one part which takes the guesswork out of diagnosing where the problem is. If your DCS577 is experiencing intermittent or decreased power, or if you're seeing sparks or smoke, follow along with me as I install a new switch and field on this 60V circular saw.

Anyway to get rid of the safety button so I can use it without pressing the button?

Grab a sharp serrated kitchen knife and press the sharp side against your thigh.
Maybe safety isn't so terrible after all.

Hay how do I know if its the field and switch or the rotor thats not working when it stopped working there was a little bit of smoke and a burnt smell. Assuming its the switch and field but may be wrong 🤔

Every time Press the trigger and run it, the rotor, bearing or the spinner is making a bad vibrating sound. What is the vibrating when the blade spins?

My dewalt worm drive started to bog down and I thought the batter was just dying. So I swapped to my other flex volt 9ah 60v battery. It smoked up. Now neither of those batteries will work on any of my flex volt tools. They work on my 20v tools though. I’m pissed, I spent $300 on the saw and over $200 per each battery. Can someone please help me get this fixed. I’m not sure if I should buy all new saw and batteries or if there is a way to get them fixed. Because that’s bullsh*t it fried by most expensive batteries. I’m a contractor and have been running dewalt my whole life, spend over 20k on tools from them, but I’m about to ditch them completely and go to Milwaukee because I’ve heard of no issues from them
