Hi I like to thank TH-cam people who come on and tell you how good they fix something on their car I have used this and it have work and save me a lot of money so thank you you too and thank you guys for getting on TH-cam telling them how to fix something
THANK YOU SO MUCH! i would have had no idea what to do except pull the dash. my problem was different though. it had just popped out but i knew what to do from watching this video. youre a savior!
This video is priceless, my dude. Luckily mine just popped out of place. I probably never got it snapped in place when I did the heater core a while back and it wiggled out. Snuck it back in and good as new. Thanks a million. 👍🏻👍🏻
Temp. Fix bend a clothes hanger make sure fan is off. Wedge it down the deprost port to keep door open. If you need defrost asap this is a temporary way.
Nice man, this was my issue exactly. I just put some JB weld on and we will see in a little. Makes sense why it worked better on speed 1 lol because the air wasn’t slapping the door closed 🤣
Hei I did exactly what u said with epoxy but it did hold only for 1 day. Yesterday I almost rip all the panel off but gave upm in the middle I wonder if you already fix ur proble if yes I would be enormous happy to see a toturial that could help me with this !!!!
I have a problem where I can't get any cold A/C blowing out the vents I can feel cold air barley coming from under the dash but I can't get the air flow coming out the cabin vent, Any ideas? I like your videos, you get the camera where you can see what part you are talking about and that really helps.
spent a few hrs today trying to get the broken piece out it has a tiny barb at the end that must engage the inner shaft somewhere.i cant see how to pop door out.i cut into the upper duct to be able to get my hands inside to see if i could pop the end of the shaft out on either end ,no luck.i am considering cutting my new part off where the old one broke and abs cement it together again.running out of options and patience.on a budget just dropped a $1000 on rear springs front coils front and rear shocks and front sway bar links, brakes etc.really cant afford to pay someone to rip dash out for a 10 cent piece of plastic.
switched out the entire air control console- now the vent is stuck on defrost- do you think it might be this same hose? the console was so tight in the pocket- maybe I pulled something out? Running out of places to look - I must have loosened a hose- right?
Hey don't know what year Jeep you have and I'm by no means an expert but you can try this th-cam.com/video/LQ1FGTdEz_8/w-d-xo.html it worked on mine. You might have a vacuum leak
my 96 cherokee does this weird thing wile under load going up hill it will switch itself from face to defroster. Ethan back to normal on a flat road it will go back to face. any ideas on that?
hi j20 i recieved my part and will attempt a fix.the piece that broke off inside the shaft will have to come out what would you try to get it out?i think maybe a paper clip and failing that maybe something sticky on the end of a piece of wire .
and you are correct, found my problem, the plastic piece broke and fell off the actuator arm and landed at my feet months ago ,couldnt figure out what it was for, not sure if i even have it still.anyways the mopar part is called blend air door lever#4864989.mopar site says part is no longer availble, so wreckers only i guess.
HI I have the same issue with the blocked sound for my defrost. Is the part you glued the blend door arm? Or is the blend door a completely different part? Thanks for the vid
I am having the same problem with my Jeep. Unfortunately my actuator broke off flush at the star portion. I tried gluing it but the flat surface can't hold the torque and the glue breaks...
+TheJ20jeepster I'll have to give that a try. If not I'll just live with it... Thanks for the help! Great video. Couldn't even find pics of someone repairing this on various Jeep forums.
Gluing that linkage will not bind the whole mechanism? Mine blows ac correctly through the upper vents sometimes but sometimes it sounds clogged and doesn't blow just like in the video. When i turn the fan speed to low then high again it fixes it sometimes .
Is there a way to block the vent to stay on defrost? My connection has a wire connected an moves when i turn the heater buttons from heat to defrost. Hard to reach in that area
heavy wire i bent into a hook and grabbed ahold of it pulled it open then wrapped it around the post for the radio = heat for windsheild is plenty = thanks you pointed me into where it was.
I just replaced the heater core and find that there is no heat. Both hoses to the heater core get hot, so I have to believe that the heater core is also getting hot. Since the directional controls are working, upper, lower, defrost and recirculation are working, the only alternative is the blender door control, which is a cable. I have to assume that it is this cable that is not working. Have you or anybody repaired this cable?
THANK YOU = IAM A JEEP CHEROKEE 1997 OWNER = AND I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE OF WINDSHiELD BLOWER NOT WORKING AND STRANGE AS IT SEEMS THERE IS A GOOD BLOWER AND PLENTY OF HEAT BUT NONE FOR THE WINDSHIELD . I LIVE IN CONNECTICUT SNOW AND ICE
All my peaces are intact but all I have is defrost and feet when try to reposition the vents towards me nothing happens the doors do not change position I located a vacuum leak and plugged it and still no resolt am I look at an electric problem where I would have a bad connection?
My defroster will work on 1 and 2, hit 3 or 4 and the door moves and blocks the defroster. The arm and splines are fine on the door and the actuator also is fine. I am tearing out the dash now to figure out why the door is moving with air pressure from the fan.
Ever video I've seen so far ever one show how to replace or plug the the climate control back on with no problem but what anyone of these videos doesn't show is that.. What happens if the knob does not set right to the plugs in back and how you would realign it so it would fit with the knob every setting

amazing. thank you. had a terrible storm over the last winter and the arm broke off a month into it. no defrost and major snow is not good.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully Jb Weld will do it! Beats taking the dash apart.
Do you think this could also cause the air to flow only though the defrost? I have NO vacuum leak, and can’t figure this out.
Bruh!!!! Thanks a ton. This fixed my shitbox!
Hei I did exactly what u said with epoxy but it did hold only for 1 day. Yesterday I almost rip all the panel off but gave upm in the middle I wonder if you already fix ur proble if yes I would be enormous happy to see a toturial that could help me with this !!!!
Thanks for this video. My system is stuck on defrost and wont go to the vent. And it had no idea the flapper was right behind the radio
Thanks for watching!

company that makes them is omix-ada for sale on ebay ,amazon also i think.
HI I have the same issue with the blocked sound for my defrost. Is the part you glued the blend door arm? Or is the blend door a completely different part? Thanks for the vid
You mean you had it on defrost when you pulled it out??? That makes more sense to me so you could glue it back in at same place.
I have the same issue in a Jeep Wrangler tj
Wonder if it’s the same 😪
I have the same issue but with my ac would it consist of the same fix
He'll having same problem what did you glue was it just the tip or star shaped and point
I am having the same problem with my Jeep. Unfortunately my actuator broke off flush at the star portion. I tried gluing it but the flat surface can't hold the torque and the glue breaks...
+TheJ20jeepster some kind of generic super glue. I've had good luck using it on plastics in the past
+TheJ20jeepster I'll have to give that a try. If not I'll just live with it... Thanks for the help! Great video. Couldn't even find pics of someone repairing this on various Jeep forums.

As long as you only glue/weld that rod back together and don't glue it to anything else by accident.
Mine too was temperamental at first like yours and then it got to where it was always closed.
Is there a way to block the vent to stay on defrost? My connection has a wire connected an moves when i turn the heater buttons from heat to defrost. Hard to reach in that area
Did you cement the spline?
is the same thing for the ac? mine wont start blowing until i hit a good bump
mines a 97 but doesnt have plastic like yours ,mine has an electronic switch not mechanical?
Did you ever figure out what it was. I have the same issue. Can't find any info.
J20JEEPSTER CAN YOU SHOW US HOW TO PROP OPEN THIS VENT IN VIDEO ?
heavy wire i bent into a hook and grabbed ahold of it pulled it open then wrapped it around the post for the radio = heat for windsheild is plenty = thanks you pointed me into where it was.
THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY SINCERELY A HAPPY JEEP OWNER haroldgeorgeibelljr@gmail.com

Did you do it ?
Same symptoms here.
fucking awesome vid bud thanks so much for making it
In my 1999 jeep cherokee the same problen change the part inside
have good heat but only on high(4). Any help??
That is your Blower Motor Resistor. 35$ part happened on mine.
No problem, its under the passenger side dash . a couple screws and 10 minutes of laying at a weird angle easy fix.
Please man make a video how to replace this part !!!! Iam looking at the all internet and I can not find nothing !!!!!
Felipe Systello did you ever figure it out?
Do you know where is located the cabin air filter?
There is non I think
THANK YOU = IAM A JEEP CHEROKEE 1997 OWNER = AND I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE OF WINDSHiELD BLOWER NOT WORKING AND STRANGE AS IT SEEMS THERE IS A GOOD BLOWER AND PLENTY OF HEAT BUT NONE FOR THE WINDSHIELD . I LIVE IN CONNECTICUT SNOW AND ICE
any other things you like to post = please do

Obilly2226 did you ever find out what it is ? Mine is stuck on defrost also
Is that foam the cabin air filter?
No, it's just being used as insulation. Thanks for watching!
Is it still working? I have the same problem
Had to re glue about every 2 years.
Mine is stuck in defrost and slowly moves to vent but not completely.
You should turn your fan speed all the way down when switching air flow positions to help keep the blend doors from breaking.
My defroster will work on 1 and 2, hit 3 or 4 and the door moves and blocks the defroster. The arm and splines are fine on the door and the actuator also is fine. I am tearing out the dash now to figure out why the door is moving with air pressure from the fan.

Or, you could have purchased a part from OMIX-ADA for about $15.00 and showed us how to replace it 😉 that's what I need to do, good fix though.
Toe thumbs
