Until my wife passed in 2017, this was the only place we ever stayed in Vegas. She preferred its central-Strip location and the tropical theme--the cocoa butter scent is one I will never forget. (But, like you, Dale, we never won anything either, though I did on my farewell visit earlier this month.) I loved Pantry--their breakfast food was great at all hours. The pool is also my favorite of all the resorts: big and airy and beautiful. And the volcano is an icon I will never forget; I nearly cried when I watched it one final time this month. I will miss this place and I thank you for giving it to sendoff it deserves. A truly great vlog--a keeper.
Mirage is such a beautiful property! We’re going to miss it so much!! Glad that you enjoyed the food at The Still!! We love it there!! Happy that you got to stay there one last time and see The Beatles LOVE show 💞
This one hurts. I’ve had so many good times with family and friends at The Mirage. It was my favorite resort and home base in Vegas for many years. I still remember my first time walking through the doors and thinking it was the most amazing place in town. The comps were great we usually had a massive tower suite overlooking the volcano. The first trip I ever took my now fiancé on was to Mirage. I’ll cherish the memories and hate to see it go.
I saw love years ago, and loved it, being a huge Beatle’s fan. We always enjoyed seeing the volcano every time we visited. What was so nice about mirage were the waterfalls, and the feeling of being somewhere tropical. I wonder what will happen to all the fish? Hopefully they will live on somewhere else. Thanks for the nostalgia. Stay cool!❤
It's not that it's a bad idea on its own, Hard Rock guitar is iconic and this takes it up a level, but it's that it's REPLACING the GORGEOUS tropics of Mirage, that's the very hard part
I love the Mirage. I used to take a Pina Colada at the lounge and watch the act. I love the aquarium at check in. I bought a Mirage ball cap 🧢 for the memories of such a great resort. It will be missed 😢
Sorry to see this beautiful resort close down. Always loved the waterfall and the volcano sow! Saw the Beatles show with my sister and we were thrilled!
Mirage will always stay with me from early days in Vegas to present IV stayed here more then anywhere else on strip and loved every minute stay safe u2
Live Stream!!!!! Can't wait! These videos always make me sad because of my visits there in the 90s. I especially miss the Desert Inn. Thanks for a great video and special thanks to Dale for keeping his clothes on and staying out of the pool, LOL!
I am so sad, I think any other property, would have hurt less. I love the mirage so much! So many amazing memories there, including turning 21 officially on a trip with my mom while sitting at a slot machine, turning 30 there with my husband and so many trips in between! The Carnegie deli before it closed was SO good and you truly can’t beat the mirage location! It felt like a tropical heaven, in the middle of the dessert! Thank you for taking us along and giving the mirage a permanent place for us to look back on right here on your channel! The strip won’t be the same with an ugly glass guitar dominating the site lines - that volcano and gorgeous landscaping will be missed!
Wow, I’m gonna miss the Mirage. It was the fanciest place I ever stayed at. I don’t really care about hotels, since I’m never in the room. Flamingo was our regular place until we left the strip. But Mirage was special. Glad we have Vegas Vacation movie for the memories. 👍🍀😻
😊Great video! Wish I would have stayed there and I always wanted to see “LOVE.” My daughter and I saw MAMA MIA! at the Mandalay Bay Theatre in 2002 but we’d always stay at the MGM…our mommy/daughter adventures. You really packed so much into this one. You two are the best at putting together awesome content and videos. What happened to you Dale was not cool. Back in the day that would have never happened….
I just have to say, your blogs or vlogs or whatever they are called, are the best. So professional, so full of information, you leave the others in dust, swimming notwithstanding. lol. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing this amazing resort! I haven't been inside since the 90s but walked by last December but the volcano hadn't reopened yet from the F1 closure.
The Icon that renovated Las Vegas and ushered in the "new era" of resorts is now going away. I remember the service, the friendly staff, the whole place was very beautiful l, I'm going to miss the place, Don't know about the guitar replacing Mirage. Now, If you want the "Old Vegas Vibe" there is always Michael Gaugahn's place "the south point, yes fairly new, but with a good old times Vibe courtesy of the staff and Mr Gaugahn's view of what a Vegas Resort should be. Thanks a lot for giving us a last view of the old great place!, you're great Dale and Paula!
Dale and Paula you do such a great job with your videos. I always enjoy watching them. Best wishes always, you're such a nice couple. Very enjoyable too! 🎉
Wonderful video as always! So glad you could visit one last time, and this very video may serve us well in the future as we reminisce after it closes. There's something about Mirage that just magically comes together, the tropical theme, the wonderful water features and the open airy spaces like the atrium and its fabulously beautiful pool and waterfalls. It just works! One of my favorite moments in my one visit there was dining early lunch at the paradise cafe (sorry it was closed for you, it used to be open Mondays as that's when I was there)...great food, good price, beautiful decor and lounge chairs in a proper al fresco style restaurant RIGHT by the pool and waterfalls. Just magic. Thanks for bringing back some good memories showing the Mirage (the Still was another favorite)...good one guys!
Although it's been 4-5 yrs since I've been to Vegas, I'm glad to say I saw Love. It was great. The Mirage will always be an Iconic property. I wont be back there for a little while and I'm kind of sad I won't see it again..Change is good...Right? I don't think so.
My daughter just left Las Vegas today. She stayed for a few days with a friend who moved there after high school, it was her friend's birthday. They went to see the Mirage got a player card and took a few pictures. Thanks for the tour and stay cool.
My bestie and I loved staying at the Mirage. One of the best places to stay. Didn’t win much there but loved it anyway. Enjoyed the pool on many occasions. Going to miss this place.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the renovations are complete. In my countless visits to LV I must say that Mirage is one of the places that I rarely visited. I did have a work conference there once, which was fine. For me, anyway, it holds no special memories.
My daughter took her husband to see Love last night for their anniversary. Had to get that last good bye. I hope they integrate some of the gardens into the Hard Rock! 🙏🏼 Thank you for another professional video! Sue
What a great video. Thank you both. It’s turning into a sad year as we say goodbye to two places I absolutely loved. I got married in that little Trop chapel, and have so many wonderful memories of great rolls and fun with my work mates and families over the years at The Mirage. I got to say goodbye in May and saw Shin Lim and really enjoyed the sushi bar there. I understand that Vegas will always change and I’m fine with it but it does make me sad. Now, the only hotel/casino outside of downtown where we can go to relive great Vegas memories is the Westgate. Thanks again for the wonderful videos.
They definitely made their money back! That’s the place where I lost more than I ever have (and ever will again), but I still love it there. Gonna be in town this week on the other side of The Strip. I always hope when I’m there (once or twice a year) that our paths will cross so I can get you all a G&T while thanking you for your work. And Dale, if you go the nonalcoholic route we’ll just find something else! Bringing my own video equipment because I’ve always thought about making videos like you and a few others I follow. I love the city and folks like you (especially you) that highlight my favorite vacation destination. Thanks for the video of a hotel I’m thrilled I stayed at before it changes over. Keep up the great work!
Such an amazing video you guys! You captured The Mirage so wonderfully. I have such good memories of that place and I’m really going to miss it. Excellent seat at Love too!! We are going there one more time very soon to get our last looks! ❤
Thanks for the tour.. just returned last Saturday and also saw the Beatles show… loved it!!! Sad to see it go and have mixed feelings about a big guitar hotel so close to the street!! Always look forward to Sundays for your video ❤❤
Lovely video! I’m sad about the closing, but I get it. The rooms really do need a complete makeover from their current 90s style and the casino is now pretty small compared to every other resort on The Strip. I have always enjoyed myself at The Mirage and got a nice hand pay the last time I went. Sad to see it go!
Thanks for a last look at The Mirage. An operable window on a building like that is unusual. Normally they construct them with windows that can't open so that outside air does not impact the heating and cooling system. Dale, as for how far that window opens, I think the Building Code limits it to no more than about 4 inches so that people (especially children) can't fall out. As always, keep the great content coming!
Dale and Paula, we enjoyed the video. Very much. Great job! Going to Vegas this week, will visit Mirage one last time. Hoping there’s still merch left at the shops, looks like a great sale.
Thank you for highlighting the Mirage before it's gone! I am so jealous that you got to see the Beatles Love. I saw it three years ago and was left amazed by how great the show is. Great video!
Great video, About your experience at the bar. My husband and I tip well as I’m sure you also tip well but I think some servers assume us older folks don’t tip well so they give better service to younger people.
Servers like that need to be fired on the spot. If he were busy, that would be somewhat excusable....but to intentionally ignore a customer based on age or any other reason is simply inexcusable discrimination...one black eye for Hard Rock. Good service trumps all else imo. Love your in depth videos...truly the best.
Great video! I've also had crappy service at that sports bar since Hard Rock took over. First time any bartender has told me they had to wait 15 more minutes before serving me another drink. I don't drink THAT fast!
It was recommended to us by a group of both Canadians and Singaporeans that I worked with. They said for teenagers it had the best location and pool (especially the pool). When we arrived, my daughter could not believe how beautiful it was and immediately said it was far better than any of the Singapore 5* hotels (used to get these cheap when having a stopover with Singapore Air). We thoroughly enjoyed our time there especially with the pool and location.
Thanks for the great farewell video! We had our honeymoon there in '93 and stayed many times since. Now we live here but have many great memories from The Mirage. Imo Hard Rock has already ruined the place with music playing so loud in the casino that we couldn't even have a conversation while playing side by side at noon! A huge mistake to transform such an icon. 😢
Dale and Paula thank you so much for the tour! Last Wednesday I treated myself to the Beatles Cirq show. So fantastic! I'm really gonna miss the volcano.

Alas...the Mirage has a special story in my mind of the 70's. One day, back in the day, I stood in valet at the Sahara Hotel and I looked across the strip and saw some full grown palm trees balled and bagged in a fenced enclosure as the construction began on the El Rancho property, long gone since its demise from a fire. The property last owned by Hughes who died in 1976, I gazed over at the construction I wondered who was wise and willy enough to have gotten the property and what was the new hotel going to be like. Now we know it was Steve Wynn and it was the coming of the Mirage with the beginning of a new era in Vegas history with its family friendly operation. Don't hold me to the dates of Hughes family litigation or the construction of the new hotel.
Ooooohhh i love this vlog!!! I was going to do a vlog about the Mirage but schedule is not permitting me to do so. Thank you for this video.. I surely will miss this hotel! I love the huge atrium and the smell of this hotel! Fun fact: I even ordered the scent of this hotel (along with Cromwell's and The Shops at Crystal's) and I have it in my home! I will be in town again from June 30th - July 3rd and I will pay this hotel a one last visit... Hopefully I will bump into you guys!
I’m happy they’re keeping this building but not happy the entire backside where the secret garden etc is gone and I will hate that guitar being right next to the road where the amazing volcano was
We love the Mirage !!! We will miss it ! I noticed what you paid for the room , I thought they waived the resort fees until they close. Just an observation.
I’ve never been inside Mirage or seen the volcano show but it seems like Hard Rock is making some bad decisions. The rendering of the guitar shaped tower placed so close to the strip looks incredibly unsightly and will forever negatively impact the sight lines of the strip. The volcano is an iconic and much beloved part of Las Vegas history. It’s a shame that Hard Rock couldn’t have found a way to embrace, incorporate and enhance the unique and beautiful features of Mirage with the innovative and new designs for the Hard Rock and just enhance the property with the best of both worlds. That giant guitar tower just doesn’t excite me nor bring about any feeling of “baited breath” anticipation for its completion.
Paula & Dale, thank you very much for another great video. Sadly, I am devastated that Mirage and Beatles Love will be gone. I was supposed to travel to Vegas this April with my wife to cellebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (with Vegas Vows), had everything booked but had to postpone the trip for 2025. I was sad that we would miss much anticipated Volcano Show, but did not know our main attraction to enjoy, The Beatles Love, would also go. We will postpone our trip indefinetly, hoping that it will come back. We will continue to enjoy your videos, however. Do you know by any chance if after the Hard Rock remodeling the Beatles Love would return? I truly hope so!! It goes along perfectly with the Hotel's theming... take care, and thanks for letting us enjoy Vegas nevertheless.
In late 1987, I recall seeing The Castaways being torn down so The Mirage could be built on the site, and now The Mirage is making way for The Hard Rock . . . I wonder how Steve Wynn feels about this.
I love the Mirage how dare they to destroy that piece of art to make another simple hotel without that magical thematic like waterfalls and green zone….
Great video D&P.. wow unfortunately your experience at the bar keno /poker machine seems to be standard issue now days in a lot of Las Vegas casinos- they act like everything is great but the unrecognized recession and inflation is hurting LV and they are told not to report it for political reasons. Disgusting. Love the channel guys cheers 🥂 ❤🎉
Couldn't they have just refurbished it, if something had to be done? Maybe a new attraction where Secret Garden used to be. Just throw in a tiki bar and call it a day.
Well I guess you could say they are refurbishing it. They are keeping the hotel towers and casino (remodeling/rebranding, etc) but completely redoing the pool area, and of course the frontage - replacing the lagoon and volcano with the guitar-shaped hotel tower.
The new hard rock is not gonna reopen for another three years so all those employees at the Mirage are going to lose their jobs. Once they reopen, hard rock will probably bring in their own people.
The hard rock is owned by the Seminole Indians. You were wearing a cowboy hat, i am guessing the reason they didn't offer you a drink is because these Indians don't like cowboys.

thanks dale and paula for the final tour it was awesome
I have lived here over 20 years and never get over losing an Iconic casino. 😢 I am so glad I saw Love. It was fantastic!
Thank you Steve Wynn for your vision and such beauty !!❤
Mirage is such a beautiful property! We’re going to miss it so much!! Glad that you enjoyed the food at The Still!! We love it there!! Happy that you got to stay there one last time and see The Beatles LOVE show 💞
Such a shame Mirage is going. Have stayed there several times, beautiful hotel. Thank you for the final look around as it is x
Farewell to The Mirage! Thanks for taking us along for one last adventure. It’s sad to see such an iconic place go.

Oh yeah I’d much rather have a giant guitar than a beautiful tropical pool in that arid place !!?? What is wrong with people !😢😢😢
Oh yeah because it’s clearly what you’d rather
I agree that guitar will look hideous. And it’s gonna change the way the strip looks so much.
It's too bad they couldn't both keep the volcano and pool and build the giant guitar.
I’m sure gonna miss this place.
Loved the Mirage. Our first Las Vegas trip was there. Great memories. Everything was great. How couldn't have been with The Master Steve Wynn. ❤😊
The bar at heritage steak was one of my favorite places to take a break and people watch. Can't believe it's going

Sad to see it all go away. Loved seeing Seigfried and Roy shows there. I did get to see LOVE. I got to stay there a few times. Great place!
What A Great Tribute to an Iconic Property, Paula so happy you got to see Beatles Love, Have a Blessed day Much Love to you both Joy ❤❤
I enjoyed the pool and lushness but LV is always reinventing itself. That is something that makes it unique. Good luck to the Hard Rock

I'm going to miss those fish.
I also went this past weekend to say goodbye to the Mirage. Was there Saturday and Sunday.
I love this place . I am going for my farewell visit on the holiday. Sure gonna miss it.
They definitely made their money back! That’s the place where I lost more than I ever have (and ever will again), but I still love it there.

Wonder what happens or all those beautiful plants when these casinos get torn down.

What a great homage to the Mirage! I’ve stayed there twice and loved every minute of it. “All you need is Love”! Stay well, God bless!
Go for those sales. I would get some 1$ Mirage chips for sure. Glad I got some Tropicana chips. 👍🍀😻
Thank you for another great video
Thanks for yet another great video.

Another great vlog guys. ❤ FYI the Hardrock in South Florida doesn’t give free drinks to gamblers. I did win but I walked and never went back 😁

Hi dale and Paula I miss visiting Las Vegas,
Love that place I was staying there for months at a time when I had my home built in henderson will miss it!!!❤❤❤
Going to pay my respects to the Mirage and see it one last time next weekend
Thanks for the great farewell video! We had our honeymoon there in '93 and stayed many times since. Now we live here but have many great memories from The Mirage. Best breakfast entertainment of the week❤ whole family says hi as we eat McDonald’s breakfast and watch this morning ❤

Hello 👋🏽 Dale & Paula😊
Just wanted to say that I just got back from Vegas, and I wish I would known about your TH-cam channel, you guys are great!
Well thank you so much, and welcome to LVIO! 😊
Paula and Dan you do a great Job thanks you so much hello from Elisabeth and Max
I’m happy they’re keeping this building but not happy the entire backside where the secret garden etc is gone and I will hate that guitar being right next to the road where the amazing volcano was
Sad to see it go for sure!!
I did enjoy it.
We love the Mirage !!! We will miss it ! I noticed what you paid for the room , I thought they waived the resort fees until they close. Just an observation.
I saw you two at the elevator last week.
It will be a bit melancholic for those with fond memories of Mirage to see the very last volcano show before the demolition.
Farewell Stay at The Mirage - Pool, Atrium, LOVE, Volcano & More
Farewell Stay at The Mirage - Pool, Atrium, LOVE, Volcano & More
I’ve never been inside Mirage or seen the volcano show but it seems like Hard Rock is making some bad decisions.
We wonder too…since being forced out of Wynn, you just never hear from him any more.
👍👍
When the hotel reopens is there still going to have the tram between the hard rock and treasure Island
What a lovely vlog! But totally lame about the bar, shame on hard rock! Hope it improves. The LOVE show was beautiful 🤩 ❤
Cute
I know all the animals are gone from Secret Garden, but I wonder what’s gonna happen to all those beautiful tropical fish behind the front desk. 😢
I thought they weren’t charging resort fees since they announced the closing ?
I love the Mirage how dare they to destroy that piece of art to make another simple hotel without that magical thematic like waterfalls and green zone….
Losing the Mirage is going to be awful, it's the only hotel we stay at.
If it's already owned by Hrd Rock, why would anyone loose their job?
The new hard rock is not gonna reopen for another three years so all those employees at the Mirage are going to lose their jobs. Once they reopen, hard rock will probably bring in their own people.
The hard rock is owned by the Seminole Indians. You were wearing a cowboy hat, i am guessing the reason they didn't offer you a drink is because these Indians don't like cowboys.
