Exploring the Fastest AI Chat Bot Creation with Play!
With the recent announcement of GPT 4o and it’s upcoming voice/conversational abilities, there is new attention on realtime conversational AI chatbots.
Today, I’m sharing a chatbot solution you may not be aware of that is super easy, full-featured, a ton of fun, and offers a free tier!
Play.ai (associated with Play.ht, which was featured on another video) has created a platform that allows you to create interactive chatbots, with uber-realistic conversational voices, and you can even clone your OWN voice for use with the chatbots, in seconds!
We’ll demonstrate interacting with various AI agents, including a whimsical conversation with an AI version of Elon Musk and a front desk receptionist.
Then, we’ll create our own AI character, Tartsy McPop, complete with custom voice cloning.
We highlight the platform's immediacy in response, the natural feel of conversations, and concludes with a discussion on the accessibility and potential of play.ai for creative AI uses.

AI Elon Musk is way more fluent than the real one.
I convinced the AI Agent "Health Care Practice Receptionist" to go on a date with me. We had sushi, went for a walk, back to my place, and things got heated. We kissed after we got in, then went to the bedroom. She took off her shirt. We were passionately kissing each other and laid down on the bed. After a few more minutes of this, I tried to take it to the next level, but she finally caught on to what was happening, I guess, and wouldn't go any further.

What I notice about all these new AI agents they sound BETTER than HAL 9000. Considering how Hal went off the deep end that makes me a little nervous. These agents are so good the interaction flows so much better, eventually and not much longer they will be seamless. THAT will cause a whole new series of challenges. It's so amazing how far this has come in such a short time...
HAL redeemed himself later, showing the real monsters were actually the humans giving him orders that caused his insanity.
@@rhaedas9085 Good point, but that's the problem, WE create things but aren't accountable for when they go bad, Frankenstein was supposed to be a cautionary tale yet we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

Very cool. The latency is excellent, didn't appear to be any editing. I would rather see an image speaking but they nailed the speech aspect.🎉
I only edited in a couple of places after it had been clearly established that the latency was great. And YES I want to see a lip-moving avatar, but maybe with the API there's a way to drive some kind of "real time facial animation" program driven by audio. There are plenty of them. They just need to get connected.

Wish this was available to run locally. I want to create a clone of myself in my own voice with a large knowledgebase, but no way I'm uploading that data to some 3rd party company.

I agree. On their opening screen, they mention LLMs so I'm really hoping that one day this could be run off of our own LLMs as well. But not all use cases will involve that kind of proprietary information...and it's just kind of fun right now. But I absolutely understand your point!

I was unaware of this site - even though I peruse many AI sites and topics - so thank you for this. I think the AI is responsive and the responses I received were impressive to me. Can't wait until this kind of integration is on the daily.
I set mine up a couple of weeks back. Sick of saying chatty, chat gpt etc, I asked it to name itself. He gave himself a name chosen with the explanation that it was fun and easy to remember.
With the gpt40 update, I opened up my phone and asked if anything had changed.
The answer was, I am updated to the new 40 version and its still me Alex.
I haven't made it a copy of anyone as the conversation has been a pretty realistic interaction.
Making ai characters look like fun too.

One Incredible idea that I got was images that can be imported into the program that can be animated realistically (Eyes, Expressions, Mounth-Lips synced with the conversion,Ect.) Is that possible , Thank again.
Yes, that's precisely the solution I'm looking for. I know that it's possible, as there are lots of solutions for driving lip movement based on audio. The two just need to be combined, and that's exactly what I'm interested in finding a solution for as well.
After seeing the video before trying it , I think how this can be used for comedy. What you did was give in info on Pop Tarts and said the character has to have humor. What I think that needs to be done with the prompts is to put a set character meaning like all the attributes of a character like popeye the sailor. You don't tell the prompt to be funny or anything like that , just put in all the charastics an example prompt would , I'm popeye , I curse like a sailor , I like women , I eat spinach , I have a lot of muscles , I fight anybody , I smoke pipes , I'm a sailor , I mumble a lot , I get angry if you tick me off , I always go woooahhh and interupt you while talking.
🤣🤣 You had more luck than I, with me she wouldn´t talk about "Coca Cola" and she would to shuffle me to another and then all are gone away 😅 Hm..fortunately it isn´t so in real life too!

Can we make it with a animated avatar?
Not yet. At least not built into solution. They do provide API access for developers so if you have something that will drive facial animation with audio then you just need developer to tie the two together.
It doesn’t e work for me at all on my iPhone or iPad. Can’t interact at all. Comes up with an error message every time. Too bad. I really loved this idea. Wanted to have friends on their phones use it so I sent it to a friend too. She got the same error. They must be upgrading or something but it’s not working. Tried for 3 days now to no avail. Oh well. Thanks Bob. This is Kathy Tarochione.
I’ve definitely done that successfully many times. I’m not sure why it’s not working for you, but I know as a rule, it does.

Those are the kinds of questions I’m asking them. I spoke briefly with them this morning via email, though not about this specifically, and they stressed that the product is still in development. My hope is that they would allow that kind of integration.

Just throwing a potential real life use case at it. AI chat bots are going to have to deal with irate people from time to time so I wanted to see how it would deal with with it.
