Lol we found out Aegon and Helaena were to be married back at Laena's funeral when they were still kids, and then she talked about being married to Aegon at Viserys last dinner. We saw her with the babies before also, Remember?
It’s been almost 2 years and we didn’t rewatch any episodes. Some of those smaller details are lost on us. We’ll try to be more refreshed for the next episode. - Cam
@@ChannelSee1 yeah its understandable :)
You mean Laena? 😅
@@xXTheRedrubyXx yes my bad😁
It’s funny how everyone was expecting Aegon to be like Joffrey only to be surprised that he’s pretty chill
He’s got some much appreciated nuance in his character. Much more gray area than Joffrey. - Cam
He becomes like joffrey later on
@@tajaemartin2251literally no!
Everyone sit on the Throne is a saint compare to Jeffrey. 😂
Agree. Joffrey was a .... cunt, for wordplay use. Aegon just gives me rich frat kid vibe with a 'nobody loved me enough' complex. Which now with a dead son will explode for sure.
It's so interesting hearing you guys narrative now that you started watching Game of Thrones
people really forgot how evil Jofferey was 😂😂
Aegon is a piece of shit but he at least tries and cares about the smallfolk
I feel like Tyrion, having read his histories, was hoping Joffrey would be more like Aegon 2 when he sent those whores.
I think Aemond still regrets killing Luke, but realizes that there’s no point in making it known. It would look like weakness at this point.
Thats copium
@@tajaemartin2251 Copium? TF is that? I’m Gen X, explain it to the old lady in words I would know.
@@phoenixfox2697 it comes from the word cope, as in to treat desperate excuses like a drug.
Excuses 🥱🥱
I think I’m being accused of making “excuses” for a fictional character? Is that what y’all are trying to say?
Fun fact Aegon and Aemond have another brother called Daeron who should be a year younger than Aemond
i think daeron is cut from the show and i hate it
@@tadessemessey8098the showrunners confirmed he exists and is in Oldtown
@@Alex-bz8lj Next time they should teach the showrunners to confirm it *in the show*
@@rexibhazoboa7097 he is gona be mentioned this season and be featured next season
There is a 4 year age gap between Aemond and Daeron. Daeron is the same age as Jacaerys.
Helaena had another son called Maelor, in the books she was made to choose between him and Jaehaerys. It seems like in the show Helaena might be pregnant with him at this point in time.
Does no one else remember Rhaenyra opposing sending Luke & Jace but everyone in the room saying “it’s a good idea”?? Jace himself stepped up and said “send us, dragons are more convincing than letters”
Luke’s death is ALL on Aemond & maybe even Borros Baratheon for not offering him safe harbor during a storm. He was sent as a messenger. If Otto is expected to be safe delivering a message to the enemy which he did that same episode….. Luke should’ve been safe to go and come home.
Like so many of these reactors need to watch season 1 again before continuing 😭
I said it last season and I'll say it again, Luke's death was Rhaenrya's fault PERIOD. She should have sent a raven to Storm's End. She would have gotten one of three responses from Lord Baratheon: 1. "I'm holding to the oath my father took & I recognize you as queen." OR 2. "You were named before there was a male heir and the report is that it was King Viserys' dying wish to have Aegon be the heir, so my father's oath is null & void. I'm Team Green." OR 3. "You look like you need some help to hold onto your crown there, missy. Team Green promised to have Prince Aemond marry one of my daughters. Make me an offer." There was ABSOLUTELY no need to risk her son AND a dragon, two valuable pieces. She gave the order, it's on her.
@@trini_staple Serious question, are you dumb?
There is a reason why Aemond was there as well. Lord Borros is lord paramount of the stormlands, sending a raven would’ve been disrespectful. The show makes that very clear. Luke was also sent as an envoy, which essentially means he has diplomatic immunity. The reason why Luke is dead is because of Aemond & Vhagar.
You’re clearly a contrarian who is hellbent on finding wrong in everything Rhaenyra does to justify TG. Have the day you’re meant to have 🫶🏿
Daemon literally threatened to kill and mutilate Otto right then and there on the bridge. Why did Rheanyra not remember that there are people as ruthless as her husband?
@@rexibhazoboa7097 because Rhaenyra never wanted a war until Luke was dead… Like use your brain.
Poor Rhaenyra and poor Haelaena
My poor girls 💔
@@ulovexy the true victims of this war
Rhaenyra send her kid herself not preparing him what's worse
@@queenxx1690 Rhaenyra was against sending them as messengers… The council and Jace wanted them too.
@@queenxx1690 Omg political envoys are protected by law. That's why she had no idea what would happen. It's the same reason that she didn't attack Otto when he came to her. You don't get into violent attacks when being messengers. Aemond was forever marked as a Kinslayer because he is insane and deliberately killed someone who wasn't even fighting him. How can you blame RHAENYRA for acting in her political role?? Make it make sense
"only time ive ever felt bad for a lannister" clearly forgetting tyrion lannister.
if only you knew how bad Tyrion is in books 👀
@@queenxx1690 still loved the dude
The opening depicts the history of house Targaryen from old valyrea to the current story.
If you go back and watch you’ll see when one of the assassins asks daemon “what if we can’t find aemond”, daemon grins basically meaning that if they can’t, any son will do basically giving them confirmation to kill any son but aegon is way to guarded so they decide to kill Jahaerys
Thats copium
exactly
@@nikitasingh0412 it was not shown, so its basically left up to interpretation, its head canon
its just implied he said that, the show does everything to make deamon look like a good guy
@@manbearpig2267 its not implied, you using head canom
"he gotta die, he kicks dogs".....
Yeah, he gets worse.... 🫣
oh god please no
Regent is someone who rules when the current ruler isn't able to. Daemon is Prince/King Consort, it's lesser than a regent. It's like Helaena, which is a Queen Consort
The accents used for the North is i believe based on our accents here in Yorkshire and slightly higher. Sean Bean (Ned) is from my city and he didn't have to change his accent much at all. Also, Rhaenyra's dragon Syrax is the mother to Luke's dragon Arrax and such they were both mourning their children.
I wonder if Rhaenyras haters are going to accuse Alicent of the same thing they accuse Rhaenyra of....using her influence/position to "grape" Cole. I doubt it 😂
why would they? the dynamic between the two situations are entirely different
Completely different.
If you switch the genders in Cole and Rhaenyra's first sex scenes then it suddenly looks bad. You'd have a prince telling his female guard to come to bed repeatedly despite the guard saying no a couple of times before. You can say what you want about Alicent and Cole and make arguments like Cole like Rhaenyra, but it doesn't change that the situation on paper has a figure of authority not listening to their worker when they orginally say no.
@@CameronkAK im tried of thos switching roles narrative rhenyrea didn't for cole to have sex with her she saduced him there's a difference, he said no once and it was to her stripping herself watch the scene again he never protested having sex with her he just let it happen because he wanted to as well , im so tired of people twisting that moment like rhenyrea raped him when that is not what happened.
@@manbearpig2267how are they? Lmfao both was Consuelo every writer and actor say Cole wanted to have sex with rhaenyra so what’s different?
@@thatoneblackdude3333 No shit he was horny for it. But did we all not learn what consent is? In a situation where there is a power imbalance or one seems uncertain, it is best to be clear before proceeding. Rheanyra was the authority who had Criston's life in her hands. She stripped herself despite him pleading to her to stop then she stated striping him without him verbally agreeing (nor did his body language show that he felt comfortable). It will be called rape if you want to apply modern concepts to it.
I'm north England real glad I speak exactly like this 😂
Yes boys glad to see you back on house of the dragon for the new season cannot wait to watch every episode and then watch it again while you react lol
SO EXCITED for this season! You know we couldn't miss it.
I don’t think the showrunners/cast should have hyped up Blood and Cheese because they were talking like it was going to be the second coming of the red wedding, cause while the topic was disturbing; the way it played out was kinda like… “oh ok….that’s it?”
It’s toned down from the books for sure. It was way worse there. But still pretty horrific in the show
They never hyped it. Fans did.
They were already born, aegon’s kids
He we go again with the annoying book readers "In the books..."
😂😭
Yea it’s “annoying” when you could have been peak fiction but instead you were served with a big pile of 💩. Just compare the scene with the book and tell me which one was batter, I’ll wait.
@@NHNster’peak fiction’ but the book isn’t fleshed out in any way, the characters are one dimensional and there is no exact story to write from. not to mention some of the events in the book are straight up nonsensical so it’s not ‘peak fiction’ by any means.
enjoy them as two different canons if that makes it better for you.
@@NHNster be quiet!
@@jodiejo-t2f Nah, I’d yap.
Gotta keep it real im a little disappointed in how they did blood and cheese. In the story they hid in Alicents chambers, killed the guards and made Helaena choose.. She chose the younger son and they killed the older not hacking his head off but 1 shot.. That woulda been than what they did..
I am maybe in the minority but I don’t understand WHY they changed how that last scene was supposed to play out. Heleana needing to chose was the deepest horror - and then them actually beheading the one she DOESNT choose while telling the surviving child your momma wanted you dead
BRUTAL
What was the logic behind then changing it? Was it fear of how TV regulators would respond???
I think yes. Idk how casual viewers would take that. There's a difference between reading something in a book and playing it out in detail on tv. Even HBO hesistated fleshing that out I guess.
Because Helaena in the show is different from the book counterpart. You do not need to understand her character fully to know that she is not one to scream. She is one to disassociate.
The reason they didn't 'look for a c**k' was if they disturbed the kids, they'd wake up and make noise. This way, the kid barely has time to make noise and they have a better chance of getting away. You can threaten an adult into silence, but not a little child.
Aegon’s kids with Queen Helaena we’re in s1ep9 and Tyland Lannister was in the Council since the very beginning. Aegon is nothing like Joffrey. He’s actually much nicer than anyone gives him credit. And he’s not to blame if he’s not ready to be king beciSe he was never raised to be ready.
Yea we should have rewatched season 1 because we have forgotten some of the smaller details.
Magnanimous would be a great title, if he lives up to it.
Daemon did not care who they kill he knew Aemond will be hard to kill so he told them plan b and notice how B&Ch already knew there is girl and a boy so Daemon told them to kill Jaeherys because he want blood and chaos and war to finally start because he want kill someone
olivia said in an interview that alicent and criston have been doing it since season 1
Aegon is arrogant but let's not forget that Aegon was never trained to be king and that he he never wanted be one like probably the only king in history of Targaryens he was forced on this sit so he does the best he can do and this is the reason he brought his son to council meeting because Viserys never do it to him .
Poor Helaena
It seems like readers arent too happy. Im good because i didnt read the books (and wont until Martin does his job and finishes, ill be damned).
But i unserstand the purist pain. Thats what RoP did to us REAL readers/fans.
For those of us who knew about blood and Cheese and that it was coming…..was hard to watch them watch it but I’m also mad about how they rushed blood and cheese and then switched up what went down in the room. Condal is obviously taking the books as a guideline only for the stretch of the show but again the blood and cheese scene should have been more drawn out and planned
It wasnt an accident. Demond specified either aemonds head or another son aka the heir. Thats team black for you.
37:57. Good decision not to watch the previews for the next episodes.
Yea, we really prefer to go unspoiled and no hints. I feel like it makes for a better experience. - Cam
Blood & cheese scene are very toned down compared to the books
43:29 LARYS STRONG AKA LITTLE TOE 😅
🩸🧀
the first ep totally butcher the blood and cheese scene, totally white wash both Daemon and Rhaenyra character. In the book the conflict was much more grey, the show is clearly bias in painting hurr durr team Black good, team Green big meanie. IDK I'm just disappointed with this episode. Also I would say Rhanaeyra is more like Cercei rather than Alicent. Who has 3 bastards in the original GOT, and who die in GOT revealing the three bastards, Geez IDK, ya boy Stark.
Cry with head canon and copium lmao
Aegon also has bastards fighting each other in the fighting pit and he also a rapist lmao
@@tajaemartin2251 lol how is it head canon when its literally in the books the show is based off of
@@manbearpig2267 because fire and blood is a history book. it was written by unreliable narrators. nobody knows what truly happened during the dance and it’s also pretty stupid for fans of team green to complain about whitewashing when they’ve changed so many events to give sympathy to the greens who were disgusting degenerates in the book.
