You have to modify the hand and gun by drilling a small hole in each and inserting a thin metal rod into the gun's handle. imgur.com/Nc9UOJp imgur.com/Wau7RsW imgur.com/eX6D3m8
I noticed there's a hole on each arms, at the inside of the elbow and there's also a little peg on the rear of the shield that's attached to the buster rifle, so what I do is i bend the arm at the joint that's at the forearm, try to plug the shield in the hole on the arm and wrap the fingers around the grip of the gun. I found this on reddit btw, but there might be better solutions for this.
way to tighten joint just discovered haven't found any negatives is Microscsle Industries, Inc Micro Liquitape. Brushes on (using rubber cement metal handle brush $0.50 usd), dries clear (about 15 minutes), remains tacky, cleans up with soap and water. about $5.00 usd for 1 fluid ounce. First day of using. Good review. Ka has distinct styling and more fragile generally. Style and features well covered. hip articulation limition, stand adapter is basic fork is presented well. I didn't get an idea if kit is typical, more, or less durable than expected for Ka ver kit. I can only guess that nothing broke so no problem. Nice look, nice price, good movement, distinctive features, great price. If someone didn't or couldn't obtain kit before now (release promotion hype oh gawd!) review gives idea of what one is getting!
Nicely done man, makes you wonder if Bandai gonna released a 2.0 of this after the new MG WZC comes out. If they do it will be the 1st time a ver.Ka kit gets a 2.0 label, then again they can always release it as a p-bandai or as a regular MG EW release like they did with this MG.
Up close you'll see the legs are quite long. Maybe the camera angles don't do it justice. Each section of leg [upper and lower] should be roughly the same length as the torso but the wing ew designs have a shorter torso compared to their legs.
The Vulcans can slide forward to get them up and out, also there is a tab on the back of the blue part where u can kind of wedge it in where the bicep armor and the joint meet for a more secure connection but you have to bend the arm once you get the tab in to secure it.
Of all the kits I've done over the years, this has whooped the PG Zeta and taken the title of my favorite kit. I look forward to the new reimagined version of Wing Gundam ZEROCustom - I mean Wing Gundam ZERO EW Ver.Ka - coming out soon.
If I recall the wing ew re-release with the special dry transfers and base adapter also came with new hands with adapters for the handle of the buster rifle. Granted it did not work cause it was heavy anyway
Might be an old kit but still the design is beautiful and timeless. My favourite for sure and the first one to make me fall into gunpla building addiction ❤
Hey, question. You mention in the video there are a ton of ways to tighten loose joints. Do you think some day you could make a video going over your favorite ways to do that? I'm sure there are lots of other videos out there, just curious about your perspective on it.
Pull the joint apart. Then put some glue on the ball part of the joint. let it fully dry then pop it back in.it adds a layer to the ball joint that helps the drag and stiffen it all up.works great
I got a bit of blue sticky tack to put in the hand while holding the Buster Rifle. just enough so it sticks and still looks like it's holding it on its own
I bought the MG EW version of this and it was too loose especially the shoulder armors. I had it sold ever since and I thought of picking this one up but worried that it may have the same issues, especially considering that this came out much earlier than the EW version. I finally bought this Ver. Ka a few months ago and was very surprised by how solid it is (so far) compared to EW. The only problem I had with this kit is that it cannot hold the Buster rifle but I was able to slightly fix the issue by tying it up on the hand using a small wire (it's pretty much hidden anyway). After that fix, I was very surprised to see that it can actually hold the buster rifle straight forward without any weight issues. Other than that, the kit looks great and never had any other issues ever since. Overall, I love this kit. I've been meaning to buy this for years and I'm so glad to finally have it included on my collection.
The buster rifle always throws me for a loop, because the big blue shield looks like a solid, hefty stock that evens out the rifle and places the handle nearer the center of balance. But it's really just a fancy cover and the rifle handle turns out to be located on basically one of the two very tippy ends, making for one ungodly, unbalanced mess. It made the already arduous task of getting the kit to hold rifle in hand that much more arduous. IIRC, the EW kit doesn't update this aspect of the design either, which was particularly disappointing. (That said, the ratcheting finger joints do help mitigate that problem... though not by much at all.)
I have this kit, unbuilt. I'm waiting to build it for... I dunno why. But what I DO know is that it already feels like a HG kit, not a MG. I know Katoki kits are somewhat full of themselves, but I feel like SO much more could have been done to make this kit good. And yeah, I know gen 1 MGs didn't have stands, but a stand would have been nice.
i have the proto Wing zero kit, and the EW 01, STILL Lookin forward to the new VERKA WING Mg comin out next week this kit still looks good, would probably even enjoy making it... a bit unahppy about those weird arms charger things though. the vulcan cannons not opening seems abit weird too.
The aesthetic design of this is remarkably similar to the RG Wing EW, which was my first gunpla ever. Makes me want this one despite its age and shortcomings..
I wanna say the EW version has an additional part to attach it to an action base. Dalong should have both versions and whatever decal differences they've got.
Neither? The Wing Gundam was given a Ver.Ka, and then they recolored it to release the Wing Gundam EW. But the Wing Gundam EW doesn't have a Ver.Ka... =P So, yeah. I can't see them not abusing this for releases. I imagine they'll probably just release it as the "Wing Gundam EW Ver.Ka". And then maybe the Wing Gundam (EW?) Snow White Prelude (Ver.Ka?), plus some P-Bandai Zwerg upgrades, etc.
Love it. I joined the gunpla community 2 years ago well after this kit hit the shelves. One day, I really hope they fix some of the cons associated with this kit. REALLY looking forward to the new Wing Zero Custom coming out this month here in the US.
Safe bet Bandai will make this variant off the new Wing Zero mold given the similarities. The Wing Gundam naming convention is bonkers and the retconning of designs don't help.
This is my least fav version of the wing ,I never cared for the wing until the EW zero was released ,just something about the bird wings make it a great looking kit
Design-wise, it's still great. But if you want something that looks as good but is actually playable & doesn't have useless hands that can do jack shit, pick the RG version instead. I seriously dunno what the hell Bandai was smoking, forcing us those unusable hand designs down our throats. The Buster Rifle is an already long and heavy weapon, and then they gave us hands that CANNOT HOLD IT. IN ANY WAY AT ALL.
Strongly disagree with the "loose joints are not a reason to knock a kit" argument. If you buy a kit, it should just work out of the box without extra effort put in, granting that it was built properly. Straight builders are totally valid.
Used to think like this but honestly, after building so many kits, they are bound to have loose joints most of the time one way or another. After all, they are model kits in the end of the day so you do have to fix some issues eventually. At least it is more understandable than traditional action figures nowadays that have worser QC issues that it makes Bandai kits look more solid in comparison

The EW Ver was one of my first gunpla!
TBH I want to get it, but the main issue I found is the hands can’t hold the Buster rifle
You don't have to. Since we're getting the wing zero ver ka, we probably will be getting the updated ver of this kit. P bandai or not I don't know :P
@Ronald Cabral the trick is to get the hands to the point when the buster rifle falls into the grove in the hand
Use sticky tac
You have to modify the hand and gun by drilling a small hole in each and inserting a thin metal rod into the gun's handle.

I have the exact same kit and no loose parts when I built mine. Love this kit
The downside with mine is the pivots for the wings are extremely tight. Quite a bit of effort to move them without breaking them
with it being a Katoki design I expect the legs to look longer in appearance, probably the size limitation.
