One of the best songs. Teaches us so many lessons in life. I had an older couple when my kids were young.. I questioned my 6 ye old daughter about the older man who gave them cookies down the road, but I soon learned he and hiscwufe were just kind faithdul folks. My daughter at 36 yrs old still smilles at her memories of cookies and being invited into the house.

This is a true event from Ronnie Dunn (the vocals).
I am a combat vet and have seen and been near death more times thank anyone should. later in life I was told I would not survive my total kidney failure but I did then the nest year I got throat
cancer and was told I would not survive it but once again God saved me. I'm trying to figure out what God wants me to do but I will. Great work and love you both. God bless you both.

This is a real story when Ronny Dunn was a child
I replied on another channel hearing this for the first time...My daddy passed 3 October 21...I had just turned 60 and was DEVESTATED. I truly believe every child needs a father figure, be it their father, uncle, or sweet neighbor. My mom and daddy were big league bikers..and hung out at a biker bar at least three times a week, daddy called it the honky tonk. Neither of htem drank or smoked, the loved the people there. My husband and I are not really fond of groups of people...but decided we really needed to have his celebration of life there... I had but two requests...this song, and Hardys give Heaven some hell... as I KNOW my dad is doing burnouts on a brand spanking new HD on the streets of gold...and this song. 300 plus bikers sobbing...your life is not what you have..it is who you have and what you leave behind...and not financially. So many came up to me telling me something my dad did for them, helped them with etc etc etc...what an awesome testimonial
