    $100+ for a freaking brush...What has this world come to? maybe because I'm a guy, but I can't see myself spending that much money for a brush for my daughter.

    Great comparison! This definitely helped me choose a new brush. I got my Pocket Nylon Mason Pearson in today and I absolutely love it! I think I need to save up for a larger one...Thank you so much for helping me make my "investment" decision. :)

    @comzt I got mine on Folica and they had a 25% off coupon. I also believe it's on Sleekhair for about $62 or so.

    i am not crazy about the tangle teezer and i have the one for thick hair. i much prefer the traditional wet brush. they have like 400 diff designs now but the normal design is still the best one in my opinion. ordered a mason pearson detangler brush so hopefully i will love it! thanks for the review.

    I lose less hair with the tangle teezer, however with the denman I lost a lot of hair.

    im just saying..... you can send me your tangle teezer honey! why do i need to buy a denman and modify it isnt it supposed to just be perfect the way it is #justsaying

    @uhuhforreal Thanks! It's not really a twist out...I twisted my hair after detangling last night, then took out the wet twists in the morning, finger combed and applied my styling product. It's kind of a twist out/wash and go hybrid.

    I purchased a Mason Pearson brush and was highly disappointed. The bristles just weren't long enough to penetrate my thick coils. It only detangled the top of my hair and this was with small sections. I finally got frustrated and pulled out my macadamia detangling brush and boy what a difference. The reason I wanted the MP was because of the handle because the handles for the macadamia and tangle teezer are hard to hold and feel awkward and slip out of my hand easily. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find some sort of use for it.

    Hi Elle.... do you feel that all the brushes are equally as affective for curl definition/product distribution?

    Nice comparison video. I'm with you on the Denman. I've tried it a few times and it just pulls on my hair or gets stuck; it's truly a struggle trying to use it.

    Thanks, I have a denman now and I don't really like it all that much cuz I get a lot of hair in it and thas with small sectioning of hair, however my hair is not thinned out or anything. I will most likely be getting the tangle teezer cuz I cant afford the pearson :(
    I do know there is a knock of the tangle teezer (called the Tangle tamer) and it has a handle but ppl say you still have to hold it like the tangle teezer (how ironic lol)
    Thanks again from one natural to another

    @YACKIETWIZZLERS I didn't like the teeth on the TT. They were too short and I had to do little sections on my hair. I can't recommend it really, I've heard mixed reviews about it, so it really depends on your hair. Some people said it caused their hair to split - I will say that I didn't notice that. On my hair it was fine, but I ended up liking my paddle brush better, which I had before I bought the TT.

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mslady0120 DM Dream Curling Creme and some Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly on top - I took down my wet twists and finger raked to apply the DCC, then added SS on top for frizz control.

    @ashinkledinkle I do, I don't like it, lol. And around this time I always lose my "winter weight" so I probably lost some weight for summer.

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @lynn1959100 I did this video b/c I just did a vid detangling my hair yesterday. I also have another one from when my hair was shorter. I don't lose a lot of hair though. Are they shed hairs or broken hairs?

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Maricurls84 I can't speak on that, I use brushes for detangling purposes only. Unless I twist my hair when I'm done detangling I rinse out the condish I used and condition a few more times to get my curls back.

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @rnmechel That's never happened to me, not with any tool. It sounds like you need to do smaller sections.

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @TheOakleyStar Awesome! I'm glad you like it. I used it last week and I was scared b/c I hadn't detangled with a brush since I did that video, but it worked like a charm and I still lost very little hair with it.

  • @denimpixie
    @denimpixie  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @gigimichelle311 Thanks! I went over what I did on the blog - I just took the twists down from detangling and applied product like I was doing a wash n go.

    yeah i am not a big fan of the denman, too harsh for me, i still have my goodie paddle brush which i really like, and i still like my TT. Nice comparison!

    @michellestanley100 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    whewwww! thats an expensive brush lol...maybe it will be a present to myself at my 1 yr. natural mark..im only 2months post bc and i can still detangle pretty easy with a wide tooth comb...nice review though..mason pearson goes on my wish list!

  • @YACKIETWIZZLERS
    @YACKIETWIZZLERS 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I still don't understand why you stopped using the Tangle Teezer, was it because your other brushes were easier to hold? Would you recommend the TT?

  • @lynn1959100
    @lynn1959100 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have any vid's showing how you detangle your hair? I have fine hair and trying not to loose a lot hair wearing wash n go's. I just feel I'm losing to much hair. I did my w-n-g on sun and co-washed on thurs. I'm trying to prevent my hair from tangling. Any suggestions? Your hair looks so nice in this video. Thanks

  • @Ketchup38
    @Ketchup38 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    To clean the TT just tap the bristles over the surface of a bowl of water several times and the hairs will get pulled out by the viscous force of water

    This is a nice video--very good comparison points. It's so much better than just showing the items and then just telling us you like one of them more than the other. And considering you ALREADY showed us the technique in your detangling video, this is icing on the cake. Thanks, Elle...as usual, you give us the goods...

    I have long hair and I can definetley say the little balls on the paddle brushes get caught. while brushing my hair I can hear snapping and it sucks. Im gonna have to invest in a really good hair brush

  • @Anonymous22289
    @Anonymous22289 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I saw somewhere that the denman brush acts like scissors on a ribbon and will cause looser hair to curl up tighter. Do you know anything about that?

  • @supajenny
    @supajenny 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    oh shizzle @ the balls. I suppose it won't hurt for me to try one without the balls. thanks!

  • @YACKIETWIZZLERS
    @YACKIETWIZZLERS 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @denimpixie Thanks! I was thinking about getting the TT to cut down on my detangling time but I don't have thick hair so I'm afraid it'll have a spltting effect.

    If u detangle properly with a wide tooth comb first the little balls on the paddle brush have nothing to latch on to

    Hello! I am new to your channel and I love you already :)
    Question: Is the MP brush you have all Nylon or the Boar and Nylon mix? I saw another video of a girl who has type 4 hair and she said she got the mixed one for scraping her scalp of shed dander. I think my hair is similar to yours, just not as curly. I need a good detangler as I think I've been using the wrong stuff for a long time now.. @denimpixie
