Got a storm myself rolling in from the west here at 9:45 PM Monday. Lots of lighting and a huge bow effect wind blew
through first. Summer storms seem more violent but am welcoming a less humid day tomorrow. Great progress on the
    radio subassembly parts.

Congrats on selling the 145. She is a beut. Glad a Houstonian got it. Yes power has been a problem for a number of folks. I have a whole house generator, but still lost internet and cable. Guess what still worked...? You bet, AM radio! I was surprised at the number of folks I know who didn't have a battery radio set in spite of all the yearly warnings to be sure families have one.

Hey man I love your videos. I learn so much from them. I have a question, do you have any recommendations as to what radio I should get for my first vintage radio restoration? I am 19, and have always had a strong passion for electronics and old things. I am really good with soldering and such and I have built guitar pedals and other goodies. I really want a nice old radio that I can look at and be proud of fixing it up, as well as use in the mornings and afternoons. I would greatly appreciate it if you had any recommendations on a specific model or something. I would prefer something that has a wood cabinet. There are just so many radios out there I don’t even know where to start.

Wow! Thanks James for your interest in my videos and great questions. My interest started when I was about 13 yrs old but didn't get started with re-working these old radios until after my retirement ~2015. What I would suggest would be to consider something simple, like a Philco AM radio in the neighborhood of 1940-1942. See if there's something that really interests you from that era. The most important thing will be "do you have all the equipment to do a restoration properly"? With the economy the way it is, it's going to be an uphill effort to acquire these items at a reasonable price. You can hook up with me through the email address superimposed on my videos and I will share what I know. Thanks for your interest.

Jim, when you make your wiring diagrams, like the one we are looking at here, do you use any kind of a template to help you draw the tube bases and other components ?

Sometimes, I'll try to get a short segment on what I do when I create these diagrams in the next vid. Thanks for the question.
