I'm tempted to get this over the Q530 version. There's like 200$ difference in price and not whole a lot in performance. But the killer point for me is the screen ☹️
I bought this used for about $750. It works pretty well and its super fast. But I was having an overheating issue while playing league of legends. I was using it on a table with a cloth top. But it also overheated on a wooden top. Anyhow I stuck 2 forks underneath it and it appears to have solved my problem...still i don't think it should be overheating playing such an old game....(maybe the seller pulled one over on me)
I haven't noticed any issues on mine. But I keep it on a vented laptop stand. So it gets lots of airflow. It can get a little hot if you are charging it while gamming. If you bought it used there is a chance that it was left in a hot car or something. That can damage the battery. A lot of overheating issues are from the battery. You might want to look at the battery and make sure it isn't swollen or anything like that. If it looks fine you could get a vented laptop stand and try charging it before gaming. Also try testing it on some different games.
hello, my laptop is asus q540 when im playing heavy games it runs smoothly but when charger is plugged in it suddenly shutsdown after 10 15 mins can you help me please give me a solution is this happening to you also??
It could be overheating? That's usually why laptops shutdown when gaming. It can get pretty hot when you are charging and gaming at the same time. I have an elevated metal laptop stand. It has a bunch of vent holes at in the bottom. So that really helps. I will try to make a video about it. Some people have also recommended using a powered laptop cooler with fans in it. I haven't tried one but they look like they would work pretty good too. Someone else left a comment and said they slightly elevated the laptop and the increased airflow worked as well. You just want to make sure it is getting enough air in the bottom vents to cool off the laptop.
I have mine plugged into a docking station with the thunderbolt plug. It also charges it that way. I will have to do some experimenting to see if there is a difference when gaming that way compared to using the charging cord.
Hello, I got this laptop yesterday and I found inside mother board one more slot for one more SSD we can add , but there is one thing I don't like, when I connect mobile charger with original cable to usb type-C I see the charging is slow, and if I using photoshop or some App like it , the charging come done slowly 68% , 67%, 66%, maybe need high power charger, so I should take the Asus adaptor with me anywhere .
I am not sure which charger would work best. I know it takes a lot more power than most chargers can provide. I will try a few different chargers and post an update when I find one. If you find one you like let me know.
I haven't done any 3D modeling yet. We got a 3D printer for our son and he will be learning how to make 3D models. That's one of the reasons we bought this laptop. It is supposed to be really good for that kind of stuff. So it should work great for architecture design programs too. But the best thing to do is look at the programs you want to use and see what the processor and ram requirements are.
Hello, nice review! Btw what will you rate the battery life of this? How many hours can I get on regular use of browsing and watching youtube? Also how wobbly is the screen? Thanks in advance!

Was the audio syncing in the webcam demo a mistake when you edited this video (audio and video got separated), or was there a delay in the recording process?
I didn't do anything with the audio. I just recorded myself with the webcam and added the video clip that I recorded with the webcam to my video. I don't really use the webcam that much. I mainly record my videos with my phone and my GoPro. So I am not that familiar with it. I will have to play around with the webcam some more and make an update video.
I have asus q530 but it's Overheats and shuts off immediately, repeatedly, and without warning when playing a game and when opening a large software charging at once. pls anyone give a solution for this 😢
Somebody recommended that I get a laptop fan to cool it down. It will also be hotter when charging. So you could try the fan and try to charging it up before you start gaming or open a large software program. If you have had it for a while it could be the battery. They batteries in laptops can go bad after a while and cause overheating issues.

@@Nanee-bg9ep The temps can be 80-85°C (176-185°F), I have noticed that if you are charging it gets hotter too. So charging the battery before you play a game and using a second monitor can help keep the laptop cooler too.

I haven't noticed a yellow tint. I just made a video were I hooked up some monitors to the laptop too and I didn't notice it. I will have to go back and look at it again. Maybe it is the room lighting?
I am not 100% sure but typically the main 2 things that you can upgrade on a laptop are the ram and the hard drive. But the processors usually can't be upgraded. The processors are built into the motherboards in most laptops.
It looks really similar. The Q540VJ looks like it has an Ethernet jack too but it doesn't have a thunderbolt port and there are a few other differences. That's probably why the Q540 is a little more expensive.
I actually played back 5.7K60 videos on this machone that the Panasonic GH6 shot a video in premiere pro. No problem. Litterally zero dropped frames and I picked it up for $1000 at best buy. Only thing it couldn't do was play back ProRes videos that the Panasonic GH6 also can shoot at.
Oh wow 5.7K60 video is pretty impressive. $1000 is a great price too. We maxed out this laptop with 40GB of Ram and the 4TB SSD. Plus we got the 4 year protection plan. So it ended up being twice that much.
@@thathobbyreview mines came with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. Not bad at all. The extra vRAM on this helps out a lot. It doesn't max out on memory. I haven't used it for 3d modeling. So all I can do is look at the specs. The ASUS Q540 has an Intel Core i9-13900H 14-Core (Base Frequency 2.9 GHz, Up to 5.4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 24 MB Intel Smart cache, 14 cores (6P + 8E), 20 threads). When I looked up the requirements for rivets 3d modeling it recommends 2.5GHz or Higher. Rivets software products will use multiple cores for many tasks. So the processor in the ASUS Q540 should work great for 3d modeling. The recommended memory for rivets is 16 GB RAM. The ASUS Q540 base model comes with 16 GB RAM. I think that's the minimum though. So you may want to upgrade to more RAM. You can get this laptop with 16 GB, 24 GB or 40 GB RAM. It should work great for 3d modeling but like I said you may want to upgrade the RAM.
I haven't tried that. I just use the include charger. But I did get a really nice USB C charging brick sent to me to make a video about. I will plug it in and see if it charges the Laptop. I am thinking it will just drain the battery on the Laptop and charge the USB power brick. So as far as know you can only charge it with the included charging cable.
Spec wise the ASUS Q540 looks a little better. But the Asus Zenbook 14X looks pretty good too. The biggest difference is that the ASUS Creator Laptop has a 3050 Graphics card. That's the main reason it cost a few hundred dollars more. So if you need a good graphics card for your programs then the Creator Q540 is better.
