      @@여지-d5m Oh I see. That's really nothing special. No textures were actually used. All I did was lower the opacity and played a bit with the roughness. The turntable animation that you see was actually done in Marmoset Toolbag.
      I use Marmoset for the camera shots mostly because it's faster but you can create a render inside of Maya with even better results using Arnold. My thumbnails are created with Arnold inside of Maya.

    after finishing how can we animate the waves?

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi water animation is better done with shaders in the game engine. This asset is more suited for still life dioramas or very specific games like tile based or isometric. You can animate the water slightly by adding the Ocean shader again to the low poly mesh to give it a flowing effect but it's really finicky.
      However if you don't need low poly I recommend checking out Maya's BOSS to make realistic water. It's not quite suitable for game projects but useful to know when you want to make something more cinematic. I'll add it to the list of tutorials if people are interested.

    For some reason I don't have the ocean shader when I try add it to the texture of the plane? I'm using Maya 2020

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I created this tutorial in Maya 2020 so I'm not sure. Perhaps check if your version has been updated. In the Hypershade it's found in Maya > 2D Textures though I normally just connect it through the File node.

    how to make the animation after you done with the modeling?

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi once the water is triangulated it can become unstable if you try and animate it. However you could try running the Texture deformer on the mesh again with the Ocean shader with really low values. I found I was able to create a subtle but cool flowing effect. If there is enough interest I could do another tutorial to illustrate this.
      The other option is to keep it as quads but maybe harden the edges. You won't get triangles but I think it would still look nice in the right environment and lighting. Hope this helps.

      @annabhate4838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigitalDreambox thank you for the reply! yeah I tried that and I'm having a hard time to put lighting to an ocean shader that I applied to a plane, when I see through the arnold render view they turned to neon purple T-T (since i have to put something floating around the ocean, so this thing need lighting, I try to fix the intensity, etc it doesn't help)

    • @annabhate4838
      @annabhate4838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh never mind i found the issues, they said it doesn't have surface shader, but after I apply it, it became black, now I don't have my ocean T-T

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annabhate4838 Hi if I were to troubleshoot something like this I would probably do a quick test that looks something like this. First add a plane, add your shader of choice (Blinn, aiStandardSurface, etc) add a light and then render. If it renders fine add your Texture Deformer and connect your Ocean shader and render again. Finally adjust the values to your liking and render again. Try to isolate where the render is breaking. Let me know if this helps.

    Can you make the waves effect with noise modifier? Ocean shader is kinda buggy

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could modify the Noise shader time value like in the Ocean shader to get a wave like effect however it may take some extra work to get it to scroll since that shader lacks the function as far as I can tell. Also some of the settings such on the Ocean shader such as Turbulence or Peaking do a better job of simulating waves, for me at least.

    Podrías hacer un tutorial de como darle movimiento a este tipo de agua Low Poly? :D

    • @DigitalDreambox
      @DigitalDreambox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Animating low poly water is usually done with a shader in the game engine. This water is more fitting for a diorama or a tile based game where static water is more acceptable.
