- How to fix Xbox error 0x80bd003d - "First, format this device on your PC."
This error often appears when trying to use an external hard drive for captures on Xbox Series X/S.
I encountered this issue yesterday and worked out how to fix it for my Xbox Seagate 5TB Halo hard drive. If you need additional help, please hit the comments.

Ordered one & still haven’t received it. Stuck in order purgatory. May just end up cancelling it.
Formatting on the PC like that sets it up to use for music and capture storage. I’m not sure you can use it for game storage while it’s set as capture storage though?
@@StealthyZombie hey mate, if you are using it for game storage you can just format it for games on the Xbox and get started, no need for a PC :) Sorry to hear your order is stuck, I just got mine from EB Games Australia and they were pretty quick
