I have never heard of using baby oil as a blender, wow, it was amazing to see! Thank you so much for the lesson I don’t have any experience in using colored pencils but now I think I may give it a try. You’re certainly a great inspiration!
Baby oil is not archival. It can yellow and change the colors as well as bleed and change the paper color. Do not recommend unless you're just playing around and don't plan to display or sell the piece.
It took you just as long to write the not real names as it would have taken to produce the real names or even the numbers. Some of us are not good at selecting colors and so appreciate those who can do it so well. The rooster is beautiful! Thank you
I saw hundreds of beautiful wild chickens in Kauai, Hawaii, including a lot of gorgeous roosters. Have nice reference photos, but needed guidance in how to do them in CP. Your video was wonderful & I will watch it several times. I never thought I would need an electric eraser, but I can see how it really helps with highlights. Thanks for a beautiful demo!
Thank you sir for drawing the hyper realistic rooster .I drew it and now every one I appreciating me.you are the best artist I have seen. I really want to appreciate you and your drawings. And sir please draw a a macow bird
Thank you Fadil! This tutorial is perfect for me as beginner. It is a complete package needed to draw the subject, i.e. the tools to be used, color of the pencils and the working drawing of the rooster...perfect!!! Hope all your succeeding tutorials will be the same like this..You're so generous person. More power to you Fadz. Ohh!! I just wonder why you did not include its feet..lol
Actually I did't know till I saw your videos that color pencils are also good and effective media of art......thanks a lot.....now I am trying on it.......
i never heard that baby oils are good for blend a drawing after I watched this! Thankyou for a new information. Your rooster are realistic too, good job!
This is just beautiful! I have been practicing my watercolour skills but I'm in the mood to use my coloured pencils again and this beautiful tutorial has inspired me:) Thank you so much!
June 2/17 - Wow baby oil, that's cool! I had some, not using it so I will utilize it in these drawings, thanks for making this video and your time. (smiles).
I have stumbled upon your channel tonight and have been transfixed watching video after video. What talent you have, amazing. Please can you tell me what paint brush you're using in this for the blending please?
Would you recommend prismacolor colored pencils? I've watched a lot of people draw with them and have had really good results but they almost seem too oily... If that makes sense lol.
+ItsMeEmma B they are really good pencils. Vibrant colors too. But they break easily and quality of wood casing is bad. I still use them along with polychromos.
Baby oil is a meadium for colour blending.... awesome... and the chicken also. 😍😍😍 loved ur work. Can u please make a video about how to colour skin with faber castle pencils. Please.
Fantastic!!!!!!As usual ..i feel solvents will intensify poly more than prisma..also with poly i get color uniformity..since it contains soyabean oil in its lead....may be others opinion differs,,,
+Sathish Kumar Thank you. One thing is sure. Poly works way better with solvents. And we can use pencils over oil too. Wax based pencils are slippery over oil.
You're very good at teaching. I love your picture and how you explain all the steps. I will do this exercise from you to learn. I haven't tried baby oil, yet. I have a question: I use Faber Castell Polychromos, will the baby oil change colors or paper in time? Thank you for paying attention to my comment.
Thank you so much :) I dont think baby oil will change the color over time. Its just like a mineral oil and it dries up fast. I have been using this for more than a year and none of my drawings has changed.
Thank you very much for the quick answer. I'll go and buy it now. ;o) What I like, too, you are telling the names of the colors (here e.g. from Polychromos), because often I struggle which color to use.
I did my exercise of your rooster yesterday night, certainly by using the baby oil. The colors appear much more vibrant and blend easily. It gave my colorwork a paintly look. I am very happy about it. Thanks again !
I didn't know that you can blend the polychromos with water as aquarellable pencils... I thought you were using the Albretch Dürer but no! they are the clasic pencils... How do you blend them with the brush?
for those who don't know, it works because faber castell polychromos are oil based pencils
“It”?
The Gamer oh thank you i was referring to the original comment though:)
That wasca wonderful demonstration. I have trouble drawing the shapes.

+Johnnathan Korver Thank you so much 😀

Cheap and NON-TOXIC also!
It's mineral oil - means made out of petroleum. Not so non-toxic

BABY OIL! you're a genius
Baby oil is a meadium for colour blending.... awesome... and the chicken also. 😍😍😍 loved ur work. Can u please make a video about how to colour skin with faber castle pencils. Please.
great idea with the baby oil
Thanks for this! I just did it quickly (40 minutes) with Prismacolors. It was my first time using coloured pencils helped a lot. Much appreciated

I am glad you tried it and found it useful. :) keep drawing!
Love your art!!
hello Art@Fadil..the rooster is beautiful but can u tl me would coconut or almond oil work fr blending instead of baby oil.
no. baby oil is a mineral oil. unlike other oils. after all baby oil is cheap and easily available.
should i apply baby oil , jus after i skecth, or can i wait till i finish?
can you use a regular sharpener to sharpen the pencils?
jungkook is master of Twister no, i already tried and it had a really weird effect, use a make-up crayons sharpener, it works well!
DIY BeYourself thank you!
Best Drawing I ever seen. Love it💞😍💞
Yes, watercolour is a wonderful medium. I love painting with them. I look forward to seeing your watercolour projects:)
+Carla A. I am planning on doing some videos in the coming months :)
Hey Fadil, would you recommend using baby oil for blending for wax-based colored pencils like Prismacolor? :D
Btw, your drawing skill are amazing. ^.^
yes they can be used for both oil based and wax based pencils. Thank you :)
tell me how much do you practised in childhood to make your drawings like this?
Detailing is fantastic.
does this work with every faber castell coloring pencils?
hello sir...I am new student, I love your art.and love u sir....
I didn't know that you can blend the polychromos with water as aquarellable pencils... I thought you were using the Albretch Dürer but no! they are the clasic pencils... How do you blend them with the brush?
+alvincent00 no you cannot blend polychromos with water. I used baby oil.
Ok. Thank you! I'll studdy that ´cause I didn´t know.
Is therpentine oke to? Or babyoil better?
Can you blend like this with Faber Castell grip colour pencils or is it just for Faber Castell polychromos
+Lucky ace 123 only wax based or oil based pencils like polychromos prismacolor derwent coloursoft etc.
Ok, thanks
Stunning 🥰
after blending with baby oil will the polychromo pencil again work on it?? doesn't it create any issue??
Can u blend wax based pencil colours with that baby oil?
Nice trick with the babyoil. I didn't know you could blend certain colored pencils with it. I assume it only works with oil based colored pencils?
+Jessus Channel you can use it with any oil or wax based pencils.
Really? I have to try it out sometime. Thanks!
NICE DRAWING😍👍
beautiful drawing just like natural
Can you reveal which brush do you use (brand and number)?
Thank you
How long did it take you from start to finish? Does the baby oil dry eventually or do you have to be careful not to smudge the drawing?
Beautiful work!
+Maree Torrumbarry Thank you :)
Excellent ! You explain very nice! I am not artist . Mostly any company's white pencils not working !
