So what about for example, the host sharing a screen and lets say a single participant sharing with the host. I want to be able to see their share (maybe dual monitors is best) and have them see my share. I have tried the settings that you mentioned about but if I am sharing a screen with s student and they need to share a screen with me, when they start the share with me, my share with them terminates (or just blanks out ) Thoughts? Thanx
This is very good............I do still have questions, not quite clear........... Can this be done with ZOOM PERSONAL MEETING (PRO), or must you have the add on, ZOOM WEBINAR? Also, do PARTICIPANTS have the capacity to choose what screen they might want to watch? Or is the screen share, albeit multiple, controlled solely by the HOST??? thanks
Great questions! You can use this feature in any Zoom meeting (does not have to be Zoom Webinar), as long as it is enabled by the host. If the option is enabled, then Zoom participants are able to choose whichever screen they want to see. The screen that participants view is NOT controlled by the host.
@@ITProTv Thank you....I watched an advanced ZOOM class, and they were not very clear about this..I would love to see you do it..........would be a very very powerful tool....especially if possible with their breakout rooms....thanks..don
Hi ITProTV Can you tell me which software you are using to zoom in on your screenshare and move the page around while you are screen sharing? If it is OBS do you know another option. OBS is unfriendly to me. I don't want to have to edit my tutorials just to move zoom and move my screen share around. Thanks
A lot of our Edutainers use ZoomIt from Microsoft and it works really well for them: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/zoomit Hope this helps!
Hey Adam, thanks, this is what I've been searching for all afternoon. Two days ago I realised that I can share a CAD program and my tutoring clients can see a 3D model rotate. I've been looking out from time to time the last ten years but now it works. Either the internet is faster or the software (Zoom here) is maturing. Now that you've put the last piece of the puzzle together for me I'll be booking as many hours as I can book. Its like being back in the classroom again, I can hover at their elbow and help when they need it.
Hi there! Great demo here on screen sharing but can you tell me: can you screen share from two participants at the same time, side by side on the same screen
Thank you! Are you asking to see participant 1 and participant 2 screens at the same time in side-by-side mode? If so, the unfortunate answer is no. The only way you are able to see two shared screens AT THE SAME TIME, is with dual monitors. With dual monitors, you are able to see one shared screen on monitor 1 and the other shared screen on monitor 2. Without dual screens, you're only able to see one shared screen at a time.
IS there a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to switch between two screen shares? If I'm doing a live broadcast it would be good to be able to switch without needing to bring my mouse onto the screen during a presentation!
This is excellent. Can you please advise how to switch to share between different files on the same computer from one screen without going into the un-share and share process.
The best way to accomplish that is to share your entire desktop window, not just an application. Therefore, you can switch between applications and windows on your screen and all of that will be shown in the meeting.
Hi! Is there a way to allow Zoom participants to share their screens with me as the host, but prevent them from seeing each others screens at the same time? Many thanks for your answer!
Great info and production quality! One humble suggestion would be to take care in distinguishing functions that apply to one’s own view vs those that are ‘pushed’ to everyone in the call. There’s a wide range of experience, and I think we can forget that this difference does not always come naturally to those just getting into the more complicated functions.
Thanks Adam! How are you? Question about zoom - IN a meeting where there is a large group, is there a way to pin two participants (who are not the hosts) so their faces can be seen in an enlarged split screen?
Hey Christopher! Great question. You are given the ability to pin TWO participants when you have dual monitors. With dual monitors, you can pin one participant on monitor 1 and the other on monitor 2.
are we able to do multiple pc screens like how we do live conferences? meaning instead of multiple Live camera streams, its multiple live Screen Streaming.
Hello and thank you very much for the video. I would like to know if it is possible to see both shared screens at the same time, i mean, next to each other.
Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if a someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing. Depending on their setup, participants will see the following: - Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor. - Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. (We did this in the episode) - Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing. Sharing multiple screens simultaneously has the following limitations: - When you enable the option to share multiple screens simultaneously, the options Share computer audio and Optimize for full-screen video clip are not available. - Participants in Zoom Rooms or using the mobile app cannot share when anyone else is sharing. Hope that helps!
Hey thanks for the video. is it possible for 2 co hosts to share simultaneously? One sharing their computer audio and the other a document. Sounds simple but it keeps shutting down the audio when document shared. Any help much appreciated. This is for singing with backing track, viewing lyrics on screen. Thank you!
You're very welcome. I understand what you are trying to do and the only way to accomplish it is to have dual monitors. I'll try to explain this simply, but I believe that if every participant has dual monitors, then you'd be able to accomplish what you're looking to do. If you have two hosts, one sharing the audio and the other sharing the lyrics, then as a viewer (if you have dual monitors) you would be able to see both screens at the same time. The shared audio in monitor 1 and the lyrics in monitor 2. Unfortunately, with one monitor you are only able to view a SINGLE shared screen at a time and the only way to hear the audio is to have that hosts screen selected. Therefore, if you are hearing the audio loud and clear, but go to switch to the lyrics screen, the audio will cut out because you are no longer selected on that hosts screen. With dual monitors, you are able to view both hosts screens at the same time. HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you are the host who is sharing the lyrics, then you will NOT be able to hear the audio from the other persons screen because you are sharing your screen. As a participant who is sharing a screen, you are not given the ability to see/hear others screens. In all, it would be rather complicated to get everything working perfectly for everyone. The participants who are not sharing screens and have dual monitors, will be able to view the lyrics and hear the audio. However, without dual monitors or external video equipment (like a video switcher), that is impossible. Here at ITProTV, we've worked with many external clients who have needed to achieve similar outcomes that you are referring to. If you'd like to reach out to our production director at brad@itpro.tv, maybe we would be able to help! Best of luck to you.
Good morning, this was a very well-done video! I have a related question for you. I'm an officer in a Toastmasters speaking club, and one of our members will be leading a 40-minute panel discussion via Zoom at an upcoming meeting. How can we lock the views of every panel member at the same time during the discussion? Is this even possible?
Good morning to you as well! When you say "lock the views" do you mean disabling other participants ability to share screens, so only the presenter is allowed to?
@@ITProTv Not quite, I probably misspoke. What I meant was pinning the screens of multiple presenters (i.e., panel members) at the same time so that other attendees can only see the presenters' screens.
So, if I'm leading a training class with 4 people in it, and I have a dual monitor set up on my end - Can I have all 4 trainees share their screens to my second monitor at the same time so I can watch them do their exercises during the class?
If you are the meeting host and check the box to allow multiple screen shares simultaneously, then all 4 of your trainees would be able to share their screens at the same time. With dual monitors, you will be able to toggle between seeing 2 trainees screens at a time (one on each monitor). But you won't be able to see all 4 at the same time. If you don't mind switching between screens, then yes this would work for your class.
@@ITProTv And this leads back to the questions just posted. Can those students continue to watch your training session that you are sharing with them while you are seeing them do their work?
Is there a way to have a speaker on one side and a screen share on the other? i.e., an auctioneer in one window and the webpage that shows incoming donations in another window, side-by-side?
Yes! Zoom has a feature called side-by-side mode that participants can enable. Each participant will have to enable on their own screen. Here's Zoom's documentation explaining how to enable it: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115004802843-Side-by-side-Mode-for-screen-sharing#:~:text=Automatically%20entering%20side%2Dby%2Dside%20mode,-Sign%20in%20to&text=Click%20your%20profile%20picture%20then,participant%20starts%20sharing%20their%20screen.
I think this may be asking the same thing as someone else I commented on. Here's what I wrote to them. Let me know if you're asking something different, and I'll try to find the answer for you: Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if a someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing. Great video, Adam. I am having the same problem as Andi. I am a tutor working on line one on one with students. The student needs to share their screen with me so I can see their assignment. Simultaneously, I need to share my whiteboard with the student so they can watch the solution. Since each of us are sharing our screen, are you saying we won't have the 'view options' menu available to us?? Just 'stop share'? Thus we are only allowed to view one of our screens at a time? I do have dual screen capabilities but my student may not. In other words, are you saying that if there is only a host (me) sharing and one participant (student) sharing, we each won't be able to toggle between our shared screens or view our shared screens side by side? It appears that whoever is sharing does not have the capability to view other shares.
Hey Trish. Unfortunately, you are correct. If someone is sharing their screen, they will not have the ability to view other shares (unless they have dual monitors). They would have to stop sharing their screen in order to see your shared screen. Now that many teachers are working remote, this seems to be a common issue that they struggle with. My hope is that Zoom will address this in the near future with an update, but who knows. Best of luck to you!
Ok maybe I'm missing it. People are asking if you can see 2 screens at the same time. Your response was, "Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. (We did this in the episode)." So what I read in your comment and saw in the video is that with a single monitor you can't see them at the same time. You can switch back and forth. However, you said yes in a response. Please show how to see multiple screens side by side.
Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing. Depending on their setup, participants will see the following: - Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor. - Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. - Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing. As the host, you can choose to switch to the option One participant can share at a time for any portion of the meeting.
@@SirAmarjitDBHSL @Monica Johnson No it is not only you who is missing anything. This is the same concern I have and, as I can see, all they do in this comment section is only a) sending responses using a bot, b) assigning this "task" to some typical IT Indian support representative with only one prepared answer for EVERYTHING... Extremely professional. My hint for @ITProTV, please reconsider your approach to potential customers because right now I am in a huge distance from buying your solution.
They will... as soon as they implement this feature. ;) From their responses it looks to me clearly that they try to pull our legs with those advertisements for ASAP benefits from lockdowns.
Nice Sir,,ex.. I am going to conduct one event with 50 participants, on half the screen event will display, and remaining place I wanna show my participants one by one or two participants according to my convenience... So what the procedure to all these? how adjust Half screen for event and how to select and show my participants on screen? Can u explain me pls?
My suggestion to you would be to use dual monitors. With dual monitors, you will be able to see your event/presentation on monitor 1 and then whichever participant that you "pin" on monitor 2. You are able to select specific participants that you want to have full screen on your computer by "pining" them. Here is a tutorial from a different channel on how to pin videos th-cam.com/video/6xjJZYZqHsA/w-d-xo.html If you do not have dual monitors, then you will need to enable "side-by-side" mode in order to see your shared screen on one side of your monitor and whichever participants video you choose on monitor 2. Here is a tutorial from a different channel explaining how to enable side-by-side mode and how to use the "spotlight" feature. th-cam.com/video/5xNom7S3ffs/w-d-xo.html I hope this help and best of luck on your event!
In Zoom, If you choose the option "share desktop" then it will share everything that is showing on your desktop, therefore if you have both pages sized 1/2 and 1/2 on your desktop you'll be able to see both pages. If you're using Microsoft Word then you can select the "Multiple Pages" option under the "View" tab and it will place the two pages side by side on your screen.
Wonderful thank you, I teach a trauma relief technique (EFT) to health care professionals and I want to be able to show my powerpoint and then switch to just me on the full screen(not the PP) so that I can demonstrate the technique and they can see my face closely. Is there a way to do this seamlessly instead of the extra step to go back into "find" room.
Unfortunately not easily... The only solution that I could offer you may or may not work, as it depends on how you are setup to present. In Zoom, there are a set of sharing options on the ADVANCED TAB when you go to setup your share, and one of them will allow you to use a second camera as an additional input, such as a document camera, that could be used to display your power points, and then the primary camera in/on your computer, which would display your face/you. You can take a look at the Zoom help document for the steps to use this feature if you have two cameras and want to give it a try: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207599483-Screen-Share-a-Camera-Input Good Luck !!
Hi, Great video! Is it possible for the host to bring a shared screen on and offline at will? I have a person doing animations on an iPad that I would like to bring on and off-screen at different points during the presentation, switching back and forth to the presenter and a PowerPoint presentation.
Hey Steven! As a host, you are given the ability to allow others to share their screens, but you can not choose which screen your participants view. If the animations on an iPad were on one participants screen share and the powerpoint was on another (and they were both sharing at the same time), then any of the other participants can toggle between them whenever they like. You as the host do not have control of that. My advice would be to advice everyone verbally "everyone please click on Bob's screen" when you want them to see the iPad and then "now switch over to John's screen" when you want them to see the PowerPoint.
Hey Hugo, great question. That is actually not something that we have encountered. When sharing a video there is a check box to select when you want to share your computer audio, so make sure that that is selected. Is it out of sync for just you or for everyone in the meeting? This could also be a result of the internet connection or bandwidth of Zoom at the time. We've noticed that in the afternoon, Zoom's quality is reduce and often times the audio or video will skip around/lag compared to in the morning when the signal is usually better.
Great information, thank you! I am wanting to join two meetings at the same time and "SHARE SCREEN/MUSIC" in both meetings. I want them to hear the same thing in both meetings as well as see me at the same time in both meetings simultaneously . Is this possible? I know if you upgrade to Business your can join two meeting, but I don't know if it possible to share music and see at the same time. TIA
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. To be honest, I am not sure about the ability to join two meetings at the same time on the same device, we have never tried that. Zoom's support page says that as long as you have a business, education, or enterprise account, then you can JOIN two meetings at the same time. So as long as you have one of those accounts, then you should be able to. When you share your screen, make sure to select the "share computer sound" option so that the participants will hear the music coming from your computer. When you share your screen, they will be able to see your screen, hear the music, and see you at the same time. Sorry that isn't much help, I would recommend doing a test with two people and see if it works. Feel free to let us know if you figure it out!
@@ITProTv Thank you for your prompt response. I have a support ticket open with them to find out. What I do know is that the Business account has a minimum of 10 hosts, but I am only one. I am trying to find out if they will let me "buy" that feature for a person of one. I will keep you posted when I hear back.
Yes! This is my question. This is only helpful to me as a teacher if the students cannot see one another’s screens in the dropdown. I’d like to use this feature to monitor progress on a practice assignment when the students are working individually.
PS: For clarity, I don’t want them to be able to see each other’s screen. Right now I can only put them individually breakout rooms for that to happen. However, it’s it drag & inefficient to in & out or EVERY breakout room to do this task.
@@paulfitzgerald1225 This is precisely what I need as well. Has anyone figured out how to do this (with either Zoom or any other video conferencing software)?
Hello, Teacher here....Does your channel a video on how to use dual monitors (my laptop and a monitor)? I can't figure how to "swipe" to the 2nd monitor, even though it's in extension mode.
Unfortunately we do not have a video covering that. However, I found this video that covers the topic pretty well: th-cam.com/video/WOTolCTe1Is/w-d-xo.html The key is make sure that you have the feature "dual monitors" enabled within Zoom. After that, close and reopen Zoom. Once you do so, the second monitor should automatically populate when in a meeting. Hope this helps and best of luck with remote teaching!
In this video we see what the host sees on his screen. But what do the two guests see? If guest 1 is seeing guest 2's shared screen, how are they continuing to do their own work? Is it possible as a teacher to have all the students share their screens during independent work time so that I can see their work in progress? But wouldn't that affect what the students were seeing on their screens and interfere with them working?
As answered on your other question, If guest 1 is sharing their screen, then they shouldn't have the option to view guest 2's screen, and viseversa. Hopefully this helps and best of luck with remote teaching!
Hi I have problem after I choose who can sharing when someone else is sharing For all participants Its return to only host and i can’t choose all participants
Glad you found the video helpful! The reason you are able to see Adam and the Zoom video on the same screen is because we use an external video switcher with multiple video and audio inputs and outputs. It's outside of Zoom's capabilities, but we are a video production company so we already have all of the required equipment.
Hi, i want to help my teacher out. Is there anyway that the host could see participants' faces when the participants will be opening google docs or other apps (split screen)?
Hello! If you're teacher would like to see a participants face and their computer screen at the same time, then he/she would need to enable side-by-side mode when one of the participants shares their screen. This documentation explains how to do that: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115004802843-Side-by-side-Mode-for-screen-sharing If multiple participants are sharing their screen at the same time, then as the host, you would need to enable multiple screen sharing. Then the teacher would be able to flip through all of the students screen shares simultaneously. I hope this helps!
Hi, great video. I'm struggling though with side-by-side mode and multiple screen sharing. We are software developers, and after Corona we want to work together even when sitting at home. We also want to coach people by both showing what to do, while seeing them do the same on their own screen. To do so we want to share our main working screen, and see our partner's screen on the other monitor. To do this the host needs to share screen and see a participant share in another window, usually placed on another screen. My problem is that once I share, the dropdown arrow that lets me select which share to see is replaced with a red square and "stop sharing". Also even if I have two monitors set up, no side-by-side mode appears. I've tried this for hours, and I know a lot of software developers wants an easy way to do this. Pair Programming its called, and they all have money to buy Zoom subscriptions and tutorials.
Glad you liked the video! Let's see if we can help you out. You need to have the ENABLE DUAL MONITORS setting enabled in the settings of the Zoom Client, on the general tab. Then you should be able to open two windows to share your video and screen content. NOTE: On Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, you need to allow Zoom access to screen recording to share your screen. You can do this in your System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording. Check the option for zoom.us.
I don't know that this question was answered but I'm looking for the same thing. As the host, I want to demonstrate something to a participant, so I'm sharing my screen. But I want them to share their screen so that I can see if they're following along. As ou said: My problem is that once I share, the dropdown arrow that lets me select which share to see is replaced with a red square and "stop sharing". Also even if I have two monitors set up, no side-by-side mode appears.
Understandable, but I do not think there is. We haven't used breakout rooms here, so I haven't had a chance to test simultaneously viewing them. I do not think you are able to be in more than one breakout room at a time. If you were to split your students up into two groups, then you could try using two Zoom accounts (on separate devices), to monitor both. But that would be my only suggestion. Best of luck to you with remote teaching!
I have followed the instructions here, but I do not see the "View Options" menu that you have in your video. It just shows me my shared screen, and my friend sees his shared screen, but there is no way to switch between them. We are using the latest versions of Zoom for Windows and for Mac (mine is a paid account; his is not). I followed the instructions in your very clear video twice and still don't have "View Options" on my menu (neither did my friend) when we are both sharing. Can you point me to some help on this issue?
Hey Andi, sorry you are still having trouble. First, I just want to confirm that the host has selected the "enable multiple screen shares" option. Second, it's important to know that if both of you are on a single monitor and are both sharing your screen at the same time, you will only be able to see your own screen. If you both have dual monitors and are sharing your screens, then you will be able to see the other persons screen on monitor 1 and your screen on monitor 2. Essentially, if you are a participant who is sharing your screen then you will only be able to see your own screen (unless you have dual monitors), everyone else in the meeting who is NOT sharing their screen, will be able to toggle between the screens using the 'View Options' menu. The 'View Options' menu does not show up if you are sharing your screen on a single monitor. You can enable dual monitors in Zoom in the 'General' settings.
Hi, that video was awesome. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. My question is about the screen with Titus and Carola, how did you zoom in and out and move about their screen that way to highlight the items you were talking about? Also, did you use a program like OBS as well? Thanks!
You're very welcome! I use an application called Zoomit to zoom in and out on the computer screen during demos. Is a free application for Microsoft that you can download here: zoomit.en.softonic.com/ We do use OBS for live streaming to TH-cam or Facebook, but for the majority of our content we use an ATEM video switcher and other rather complex video production equipment. Here's a similar set up to what we use in studios: www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atem
Thank you, this is helpful...am also looking for how to be able to document privately on my laptop while having a video conferencing happening. I have tried adding a monitor but it was not successful and am not certain what is needed.
The limit is based on the plan you have and the maximum number of participants allowed to attend a meeting. Anywhere from 100 - 500 participants depending... Plan info is here: zoom.us/pricing
Hi, great video! I'm having difficulty with seeing the Share Screens. When I go to the "View Options" drop down menu I don't see "Shared Screens" or any names...what am I doing wrong? I have everything clicked correctly under the Advanced Sharing Options.
This is the info from Zoom directly that might help on that: Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing.
When going from gallery view to speaker view, is it possible to have 2 speakers side by side to present to 60 or 70 participants rather than just one speaker?
Unfortunately, the speaker view only shows one speaker at a time. In Zoom, every participant has their own view and can change that view to their liking. You are able to "pin" ONE speaker, therefore placing that specific speaker into a full screen view (but that doesn't apply to the entire meeting, only to each individual participant who uses the feature). If you have dual monitors, then you are given the ability to "pin" two speakers and have one show up on each monitor. In order to accomplish the look that you are going for (with two speakers side by side), you would need to use two Zoom accounts on two separate computers and a video switcher to bring it all together. At ITProTV, we actually do this frequently for large meetings and presentations. If you would like to reach out to our Production Director, Brad, he would be able to answer any further questions and see if we could assist you.
Could Brad call me ASAP ! I need help with this very thing and I am not computer savvy. I am reachable through my school website. I can send you the email but not thru here. Is that okay
I need to know how personalize my zoom meeting with my personal logo and general colors or back ground but not on my screen background i mean a general meeting background?
Hey Angel, I am not sure how to accomplish what you are looking to do. I know you are able to create a "vanity URL" for your Zoom page that allows you to add branding and customization. Instructions can be found here, but require basic web design knowledge: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201363233-Customizing-branding-settings-for-your-vanity-URL
You can share your screen from the iPad, as we have discussed in the episode titled "How to Use Zoom Whiteboard on an iPad | How to Use Zoom"... IF you want to add in audio from another source, such as a separate device or computer, then you would have to play it REALLY REALLY loud and make sure that it is close to the iPad, so the microphone of the iPad will hopefully pick it up, but there is no way to do that DIRECTLY from within the iPad ... If you wanted the audio to be available from the same device, then you could easily do that.
Hi, I changed the screen sharing to multiple participants can share simultaneously. I set the setting to All participants for both. Once I saved it and I told my participants to share simultaneously, it says cannot allow while others are sharing. I went back to the advanced sharing and it kept being reverted back to only host can start sharing when someone else is sharing. This is frustrating. Why does it automatically do that once my participants are sharing?
Sorry it keeps reverting back for you. If you're logged into Zoom on the desktop app, go to Preferences (if you're using a mac you'll find this by pressing the "zoom.us" icon in the upper right hand corner of your computer screen), then click General, and click on "view more settings." This will take you to the web application where you can essentially access "master" settings that will apply to all meetings. Once you're there, click on the "In Meeting Basic" tab and scroll down to screen sharing. Make sure screen sharing is turned on, and both of the other options are set to "all participants." I hope this helps!
You're welcome! The only way to do this is to have dual monitors. When you have dual monitors you will be able to see the shared screen on one monitor and the rest of the participants on the other monitor.
@@ITProTv if I share on dual monitors will my participant also be able to see participants and screen content? For instance, if I am reading a book to my grandchild that I downloaded and am sharing. Can we see each other?
Hi Adam. I need to record graduation speeches for our virtual graduation. I'm going to use Zoom. Is it possible to share my screen and use it as a telepromter for the graduate as he/she reads their speech? I want the grad to see my screen big (just scrolling through a word doc) but I want to see the grad big so I can record them at my end. Does that question even make sense? Is this possible? I could set up a second monitor if that would help.
In theory this would work, but Adam is actually going to try a test when he's in the studio tomorrow to make sure. We'll post a full answer here after that. On that note, I'd strongly suggest you do some tests before the big event as well.
So, the answer will unfortunately be that while it is possible, it is technically complicated and involves the use of a switching capability that we have in our studios, but is probably not available for use in this scenario. HOWEVER, what I can suggest is the possibility that the zoom meeting can still be used as follows: (2 options) Option 1: Setup the zoom meeting and use it to provide the Tele-Prompted script for the student to read off of. The student would then have to record themselves using a secondary external camera, perhaps a smart phone device for instance, and then those recordings could be stitched together, or left individually to stand alone as part of the graduation. Option 2: Setup the zoom meeting and record the student(s) as part of the normal Zoom meeting, they just talk and you record the whole thing. The "Script" would have to be provided to them ahead of time and would be OUTSIDE of Zoom, perhaps on another machine that they can see while in the zoom meeting, and/or printed out on paper and they would have to figure out how to read from it while in the meeting. I hope that helps, and congrats to the graduates! -Adam
is it possible, the host is screen sharing some slides for the presentation then co-host will play audio-only or play music... tried it using multiple user can share but to no success huhuhu
Can you do this with those options - Two people are screen sharing (but in different ways) - one person is showing their desktop and has their camera on. The other keeps their camera off and only shares their audio/music - not their desktop.
As long as the host has enable multiple screen sharing, then it should get multiple participants the ability to share at the same time. Keep in mind that multiple participants will be able to share, but you will only be able to see one screen share at a time (unless you have dual monitors, in which case you will be able to see two at a time). For example, if 4 people share their screen, viewers will only be able to select one screen at a time to view.
This video lets you see shared screens from multiple participants. What I'd like to do is view one participants dual monitors simultaneously, is this possible?
Hey Jerri, that is not possible unfortunately. Every participant is only able to share one monitor or screen at a time. Zoom does not give you the ability to share both monitors from a single participant. If the goal is to show two windows/applications at the same time, then you could minimize both of them to 1/2 a screen and place them on a single monitors screen, then select "share desktop."
How can I share multiple applications on my screen using a Windows computer? Presently, I have to click on Stop Share my screen; select a new application and then click on Share Screen. This is very inefficient. Is it possible to switch windows applications while sharing your screen?
Hi Jerry! It sounds like you're choosing to share only an individual application, rather than your entire screen. When you click on "share screen" and the window pops up that has you click on whatever screen/application that you want to share, make sure that you choose to share your "Desktop." When you share your desktop, whatever application is open on your desktop, is what will be shared. Therefore you can switch between any applications without having to stop share. Note: that WHATEVER is open on your desktop that you see, the viewers will also see. So I would recommend closing or minimizing any emails or windows that you don't want shown and only have open the applications that you wish to share. When you share your desktop it is essentially a mirror of whatever you see so just be careful. Hope this helps!
I’m looking to do a drawing demonstration via zoom. I’d like the model to be visible to all in the meeting, as well as the demonstrating artist’s painting as he demonstrates the process. The other catch is that I am the host, not him. I want both of these as large as possible, and side by side. The other zoom participants do not need to be seen. Any suggestions on how to do this? Model and painter will be in different locations. When I turn off video, I still see the participant’s name in a black box on the screen. Is it possible to hide people so that everyone only sees the model and artist? Spotlighting only works for one. And speaker view inly works for one. I’m assuming that you are using a different product, not Zoom where your video stays visible on the side of Zoom? Thanks for your suggestions for solutions.
Hey Sue - As the host, you should be able to spotlight BOTH the artist and the model's videos. This will affect the entire meeting and spotlight both of their cameras. Here is the Zoom documentation that walks through the process of spotlighting multiple participants videos: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362653-Spotlight-Video In our videos, we are using a Black Magic Video Switcher. This gives us the ability to take Adam's computer as an input and his camera as a second input. Then switcher allows us to combine the two, without using Zoom. We have a pretty elaborate production studio set up in our offices due to the nature of our business. I hope this was able to help in some way!
Make sure you are updated to the most recent version of the Zoom client. As ITProTV said, you should be able to spotlight more than one video stream now. You'll need to have a current version of the Zoom client, though.
I need something that's just beyond what you're talking about, I think. I want my Zoom meeting participants to have two cameras - one on their face and one on what they are working on (a painting for example). Any ideas? I'm so surprised that Zoom and GoTo etc can't seem to handle this, but maybe I'm overlooking something. The meeting host seems to be the only one who can have two cameras.
We haven't tested two cameras in Zoom but I found this video that seems to cover what you are trying to do: th-cam.com/video/NBdXCk58UxU/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!
Thanks, but that video (and many others) shows how to use two cameras by the Zoom Host. I want the *participants* (not hosts) to also have two cameras. As far as I can tell, participants can display a camera and their screen, but not a camera and a camera ---- unless maybe the second camera's view can be displayed via their Screen Share?
One possibility to use multiple cameras set up by any one on Zoom and then switching to display output from any of the camera on Zoom with a push of a button is by using some suitable video switcher that supports zoom like, Atem mini pro switcher.
We have not used breakout rooms and don't have a video on that yet, but here is the Zoom documentation that explains how to create and use one: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206476313-Managing-Breakout-Rooms
I'm a teacher and I want to use my Wacom Intuos writing tablet to show math problems but still be able to see the chat for kids whose microphone doesn't work. How can i do this? I only see the writing board OR the chat not simultaneous. Thanks!
We have not tested with using the whiteboard and chat at the same time, so I am not sure. An idea could be to have the zoom meeting open on two devices and use one for monitoring the chat and the other for doing your math problems. Best of luck to you!
It sounds like you might not be the host of the meeting. If you are not the host, and only a participant, then you won't get the "Multiple participants can share simultaneously" option.
@@ITProTv I found the the reason: If you have activated the remote control option in the settings, the menu for multiple participants is not available.
Yep! Just answered a similar question to another commenter, but I'm pasting the same answer here so you get notified: Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing.
Why can't i find the "multiple participants can share simultaneously" ? if i press the arrow in the share screen button, it only show "who can share" host or all participant. and i have a "support" icon in the meeting tool bar.. what is that? thank you
Hey Joan, are you the meeting meeting host or a participant? The meeting host will get the option "multiple participants can share simultaneously." If you are the host and you are still having this issue then go into the Zoom browser settings and under "In Meeting: Basics" make sure the Screen Share setting "Allow host and participants to share their screen or content during meetings" is selected. If you are still having this issue, someone in the comments noted that "If you have activated the remote control option in the settings, the menu for multiple participants is not available."
In this quarantine period.. I wish to watch movies with my friends through phone... So, is there any option for screen share at the same time the camera view for participants... Please somebody reply to this...
You would need to have a second monitor or you can use the side-by-side mode to use 1/2 of your screen for the participants view and the other 1/2 for the screen share. However, if you are the one sharing your screen, then you will only be able to see your shared screen, unless you have a second monitor.
I am a lecturer and I want to control every student screen by using multiple sharing and if one of the students stops sharing his own can he see the other student's screen?

Anyone can help me? When i share screen the menu of zoom look like some black thing that blocked the view but when i use another device its not look like that when i share screen
Unfortunately you aren't. With dual monitors, you are able to see two students screens at the same time. Without dual monitors, your only option would be to switch between them. My advice would be to have everyone share their screen and then tell them that you will be randomly switching between them. While they are sharing their screen, they won't be able to view other participants screens.
Sweet video, but I have two questions for which I wasn't able to figure out the answers based on this presentation. 1. Did Corola and Titus here share their screens and/or faces only with the Host, or they also shared the content with each other? As a Host, I would like to have an opportunity to observe other participants' screens, but also prevent them from doing this. 2. Am I able to organize multiple sharing for much more than 2 people? If so, can I see their shared screens on my monitor as a grid and zoom the one that I am most interested in at a particular moment. And still, see their faces in the right panel? PS. Please do not paste me the same answer starting with "Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing..." as I have already read it several times and it is not an actual answer to this question.
Hey Mariusz, sorry that you are still having trouble with this. This is definitely a confusing feature in Zoom so I will try my hardest to answer your questions simply: 1. Carola and Titus were both sharing their screens with everyone in the meeting, not just the host. As the host, you have to enable “multiple screen shares” as a feature so that multiple people can share their screens. However, once they do this, everyone in the meeting can toggle between ANY screen they wish to. There is no way for you to prevent this and to be the only one who can see the shared screens. However, ANYONE who is sharing their screen, can ONLY see their shared screen (unless they have a dual monitor, in which they can see their screen in monitor 1 and a different participants screen in monitor 2). If they are sharing their screen WITH ONE MONITOR, they do not get the ‘View Options’ menu to toggle between other participants screens and the same applies to you as the host. If you are interested in only being able to see the shared screens, then I would recommend incorporating Breakout Rooms and separating participants into separate rooms where only the people in that room can see the shared screens. 2. Yes you are able to enable multiple sharing for more than 2 people (by selecting the ‘allow multiple screen shares’ option as the host). With Side-by-side mode & Gallery View enabled, you can see your preferred shared screen on the left side and the face’s of participants on the right side OF ONE MONITOR. But this is only one monitor. In the meeting settings under “General” you need to click the “enable dual monitors” box in order to see multiple participants screens at the same time on two monitors. You can then toggle between any 2 of the participants who are sharing their screens (one on each monitor). But you can NOT see all of the shared screens as a grid. Also keep in mind, if you are sharing your screen (and only have one monitor) then you will ONLY be able to see your own screen. I hope this helps - feel free to comment with any additional questions.
Unfortunately, the participants will be able to see and toggle between everyone else's shared screen UNLESS they are sharing their screen. When a participant is sharing their screen, they are not given the option to view other screens. Therefore, you SHOULD be able to have all of your students sharing their screens and you, as the host, can toggle between them. While sharing their screen, they shouldn't be able to see others. If they stop sharing, then they will be able to see others.
@@ITProTv Thank you, that's so helpful to understand. I found today that none of this multiple screen sharing works at the iPads at our school, but does work on the laptops.
Hi Karina, no unfortunately Zoom only allows a viewer to see a maximum of two screens at once (if you have dual monitors). Without dual monitors, you are only able to see one screen. All 26 students can share their screens at the same time and you can toggle between which one or two you want to see, but there is currently no way to see more than 2.
Great video. Is it possible to see both presenters screens at the same time without having to toggle?
2 things I loved from this video:
1. The content, of course.
2. The GREAT communication skills of Adam.
Thanks!
Thanks! We'll pass the feedback on to Adam.
I couldn't agree more!
@@ITProTv Thank you....I watched an advanced ZOOM class, and they were not very clear about this..I would love to see you do it..........would be a very very powerful tool....especially if possible with their breakout rooms....thanks..don
could I have share sound to always be set as a default? Also optimize video.

Hi ITProTV Can you tell me which software you are using to zoom in on your screenshare and move the page around while you are screen sharing? If it is OBS do you know another option. OBS is unfriendly to me. I don't want to have to edit my tutorials just to move zoom and move my screen share around. Thanks
A lot of our Edutainers use ZoomIt from Microsoft and it works really well for them: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/zoomit
Hope this helps!
Vey well demonstrated the function of multiple screen share !
Thank you very much ! It save me a lots of time to learn how to use zoom on i pad !
Glad to hear that!
Is multiple share screen only available in Zoom Meeting? in Zoom Webinar?
Hello! Can people using ipads share their screen as well? Or only using a desktop or laptop?
Yep, you can use iPads as well. Got a video about it: th-cam.com/video/6uO2F1BIM5M/w-d-xo.html
@@ITProTv Thank you for your response, maybe I worded it wrong, can people using ipads share when multiple participants are sharing as well?
Hey Adam, thanks, this is what I've been searching for all afternoon. Two days ago I realised that I can share a CAD program and my tutoring clients can see a 3D model rotate. I've been looking out from time to time the last ten years but now it works. Either the internet is faster or the software (Zoom here) is maturing. Now that you've put the last piece of the puzzle together for me I'll be booking as many hours as I can book. Its like being back in the classroom again, I can hover at their elbow and help when they need it.
That is awesome! I'm glad we were able to help with your realization. Best of luck to you!
Is it possible for the HOST to share 2 screens, and allowing participants the ability to choose which screen they want to watch???
IS there a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to switch between two screen shares? If I'm doing a live broadcast it would be good to be able to switch without needing to bring my mouse onto the screen during a presentation!
not sure if I missed it , but how do we share multiple screens? isn't that the title
There’s a wide range of experience, and I think we can forget that this difference does not always come naturally to those just getting into the more complicated functions.
hello thanks for the video its very helpful,
i want to ask what is the maximal number of participant sharing screen at the same time?
thanks before
Unfortunately, I am not sure. This most we have tested in three at a time and it doesn't say in the Zoom documentation.

Wow, thanks!
Thanks a lot. The teaching is clear and it adds to the basic knowledge we have of screen sharing in Zoom.
You're very welcome. Glad we were able to help!
Excellent hands-on training. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
are we able to do multiple pc screens like how we do live conferences? meaning instead of multiple Live camera streams, its multiple live Screen Streaming.
Depending on their setup, participants will see the following:
- Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor.
- Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. (We did this in the episode)
- Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing.
Sharing multiple screens simultaneously has the following limitations:
- When you enable the option to share multiple screens simultaneously, the options Share computer audio and Optimize for full-screen video clip are not available.

@@ITProTv Thanks so much for your prompt and helpful reply. Much appreciated.
How do i do this on phone?
What I hoped to see and didn't see - is it possible to see both screen shares at the same time? I recon it should be the "side-by-side mode".
I think this may be asking the same thing as someone else I commented on. Here's what I wrote to them. Let me know if you're asking something different, and I'll try to find the answer for you:

Depending on their setup, participants will see the following:

As the host, you can choose to switch to the option One participant can share at a time for any portion of the meeting.

My suggestion to you would be to use dual monitors. With dual monitors, you will be able to see your event/presentation on monitor 1 and then whichever participant that you "pin" on monitor 2. You are able to select specific participants that you want to have full screen on your computer by "pining" them. Here is a tutorial from a different channel on how to pin videos th-cam.com/video/6xjJZYZqHsA/w-d-xo.html
If you do not have dual monitors, then you will need to enable "side-by-side" mode in order to see your shared screen on one side of your monitor and whichever participants video you choose on monitor 2. Here is a tutorial from a different channel explaining how to enable side-by-side mode and how to use the "spotlight" feature. th-cam.com/video/5xNom7S3ffs/w-d-xo.html

You're welcome! Multiple screen share should be available for all users. You just have to be the host of the meeting in order to enable the feature.
Can we share two pages of one document at a time
In Zoom, If you choose the option "share desktop" then it will share everything that is showing on your desktop, therefore if you have both pages sized 1/2 and 1/2 on your desktop you'll be able to see both pages. If you're using Microsoft Word then you can select the "Multiple Pages" option under the "View" tab and it will place the two pages side by side on your screen.

Wonderful thank you,
I teach a trauma relief technique (EFT) to health care professionals and I want to be able to show my powerpoint and then switch to just me on the full screen(not the PP) so that I can demonstrate the technique and they can see my face closely.
You can take a look at the Zoom help document for the steps to use this feature if you have two cameras and want to give it a try:

Good Luck !!

Hi, great video. How do correct video and audio not in sync when sharing a video?
I want to have all my students share their screens with me during an online assessment, yet not be able to see each other’s screen. How do I do that?
Yes! This is my question. This is only helpful to me as a teacher if the students cannot see one another’s screens in the dropdown. I’d like to use this feature to monitor progress on a practice assignment when the students are working individually.
Bro its simple when they share their screen they can't see other's screen na
However, I found this video that covers the topic pretty well: th-cam.com/video/WOTolCTe1Is/w-d-xo.html
The key is make sure that you have the feature "dual monitors" enabled within Zoom.
Thank you so much sir. Actually I was looking for this information for long time. Really it is very helpful for me.

Hi
I have problem after I choose who can sharing when someone else is sharing
For all participants
Its return to only host and i can’t choose all participants
OMG...How did you get yourself and the other two on the same screen ???😲
Super helpful video!!! I do have another question too!
This documentation explains how to do that: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115004802843-Side-by-side-Mode-for-screen-sharing
If multiple participants are sharing their screen at the same time, then as the host, you would need to enable multiple screen sharing. Then the teacher would be able to flip through all of the students screen shares simultaneously. I hope this helps!
Is this MULTIPLE SCREEN possible in ZOOM PERSONAL MEETINGS? Or must this be in ZOOM WEBINAR?
It is possible in personal meetings as well as webinars. The host of the meeting just needs to enable to feature to allow it.
Is there any way to see the breakout rooms simultaneously? Young students cannot be left unsupervised.
Wonderful job
Thank you!
Is a free application for Microsoft that you can download here: zoomit.en.softonic.com/
We do use OBS for live streaming to TH-cam or Facebook, but for the majority of our content we use an ATEM video switcher and other rather complex video production equipment. Here's a similar set up to what we use in studios: www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atem

Glad it was helpful! As for the documenting, what's the problem you're running into? You should be able to have another program open for that.
Hey, How many participant screens can you look at? is there a certain number of people whereby you cannot screen share anymore?
The limit is based on the plan you have and the maximum number of participants allowed to attend a meeting. Anywhere from 100 - 500 participants depending... Plan info is here: zoom.us/pricing
Hi, great video! I'm having difficulty with seeing the Share Screens. When I go to the "View Options" drop down menu I don't see "Shared Screens" or any names...what am I doing wrong? I have everything clicked correctly under the Advanced Sharing Options.
This is the info from Zoom directly that might help on that:
Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing.
Depending on their setup, participants will see the following:
- Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor.
- Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing.
- Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing.
As the host, you can choose to switch to the option One participant can share at a time for any portion of the meeting.
Thanks so much, Adam - I love your teaching style - in itself its a great model for online trainers like me ;)

I tried this when my students are using iPads, but it didn't seem to work. Is there a way to share multiple iPad screens?
I need to know how personalize my zoom meeting with my personal logo and general colors or back ground but not on my screen background i mean a general meeting background?
Hey Angel, I am not sure how to accomplish what you are looking to do. I know you are able to create a "vanity URL" for your Zoom page that allows you to add branding and customization. How can we hear more than one voice simultaneously?
Hi is there a way to screen share from an iPad while playing audio from my Mac?
You can share your screen from the iPad, as we have discussed in the episode titled "How to Use Zoom Whiteboard on an iPad | How to Use Zoom"... IF you want to add in audio from another source, such as a separate device or computer, then you would have to play it REALLY REALLY loud and make sure that it is close to the iPad, so the microphone of the iPad will hopefully pick it up, but there is no way to do that DIRECTLY from within the iPad ... If you wanted the audio to be available from the same device, then you could easily do that.
@@ITProTv Thanks for the reply
Thank you for this video. It has answered my curiousity about multiple sharing...

Thank you for this valuable information! Is there a way to share my screen, and still see ALL of my participants on camera simultaneously?

@@ITProTv Thanks!
So, the answer will unfortunately be that while it is possible, it is technically complicated and involves the use of a switching capability that we have in our studios, but is probably not available for use in this scenario. HOWEVER, what I can suggest is the possibility that the zoom meeting can still be used as follows: (2 options)
Option 1: Setup the zoom meeting and use it to provide the Tele-Prompted script for the student to read off of.
-Adam
@@ITProTv Thanks! That will get me started on a solution. Wish us luck!
is it possible, the host is screen sharing some slides for the presentation then co-host will play audio-only or play music... tried it using multiple user can share but to no success huhuhu
Can you do this with those options - Two people are screen sharing (but in different ways) - one person is showing their desktop and has their camera on. The other keeps their camera off and only shares their audio/music - not their desktop.
Can an admin be sharing a slideshow on Powerpoint from his desktop and have a co-host share audio only from his laptop at the same time ?
I wonder if a side by side view would allow that. Interesting question though.
What’s about side-by-side mode?
Are you asking about putting multiple screen shares side by side on your view?
Hiee , multiple participants can’t share at a time even after doing all the settings you have told .... can you help ???

Here is the Zoom documentation that walks through the process of spotlighting multiple participants videos: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362653-Spotlight-Video
In our videos, we are using a Black Magic Video Switcher.
We haven't tested two cameras in Zoom but I found this video that seems to cover what you are trying to do: th-cam.com/video/NBdXCk58UxU/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps!
How to create a break room?
We have not used breakout rooms and don't have a video on that yet, but here is the Zoom documentation that explains how to create and use one:

I'm a teacher and I want to use my Wacom Intuos writing tablet to show math problems but still be able to see the chat for kids whose microphone doesn't work. How can i do this? I only see the writing board OR the chat not simultaneous. Thanks!
We have not tested with using the whiteboard and chat at the same time, so I am not sure. An idea could be to have the zoom meeting open on two devices and use one for monitoring the chat and the other for doing your math problems. Best of luck to you!
the option "Multiple participants can share simultaneously" is not available for me, just the "Advanced Sharing Options"

@@ITProTv I found the the reason: If you have activated the remote control option in the settings, the menu for multiple participants is not available.

Yep! Just answered a similar question to another commenter, but I'm pasting the same answer here so you get notified:
Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if a someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing.
- Participants in Zoom Rooms or using the mobile app cannot share when anyone else is sharing.
Hope that helps!

Can I have a thumbnail of all student screens up on a screen, so I can monitor student progress? I have around 20 students in my classes.
This is definitely a confusing feature in Zoom so I will try my hardest to answer your questions simply:
@@ITProTv Thank you for this detailed answer, this is kind of answer I wished to get. The functionalities ale clear to me now.
Can the host see all the shared screens without all the guests sharing screens with each other?
Unfortunately, the participants will be able to see and toggle between everyone else's shared screen UNLESS they are sharing their screen. When a participant is sharing their screen, they are not given the option to view other screens. Therefore, you SHOULD be able to have all of your students sharing their screens and you, as the host, can toggle between them. While sharing their screen, they shouldn't be able to see others. If they stop sharing, then they will be able to see others.
@@ITProTv Thank you, that's so helpful to understand. I found today that none of this multiple screen sharing works at the iPads at our school, but does work on the laptops.
if I have a class of 26 can I see all 26 screens AT ONCE???
Hi Karina, no unfortunately Zoom only allows a viewer to see a maximum of two screens at once (if you have dual monitors). Without dual monitors, you are only able to see one screen. All 26 students can share their screens at the same time and you can toggle between which one or two you want to see, but there is currently no way to see more than 2.
Cool!!
Thanks for watching!
Nice! But didn't have to be 9min long...
