    I'm learning to be an "usher", and I keep coming back to this video. It's simple and clear in outlining the steps for various types of screen sharing. So far, I learn something additional each time that I missed before (e.g., today it was the green outline!). Thank you very much for putting this content up.

    After weeks of struggling to get good sound out to our members watching our church service, and weeks of watching screen sharing tutorials, you are the first one to point out that little share sound box down in the left corner. We thought if you shared the screen, the sound was with it. That one click solved our problem.

    Hi! Thanks so much for this video. What do you think would be the best way to screenshare an Excel spreadsheet. I will be actively changing data and calculations as part of my demonstration. Is there a way for the participants to see me without making it difficult to follow my data changes in the spreadsheet?

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A great way to decide what will work well for you and your participants is to set up a test meeting and join it from another device so that you can see the host and participant side at the same time. Then try different things with your spreadsheet.

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. The answer depends on how you are sharing and your setup. My suggestion is to practice in a test meeting and join yourself from another device. Then you'll be able to see how things work and make adjustments and plans.

    Thank you. As participant If I share my edge browser which shows a mp3 icon and a video icon on the computer screen can I open both files and show music from the mp3 file (hidden in background) and video background (muted on sharescreen)?

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. I suggest you play with this to get it working as you want. It should be doable if you share the sound from your computer while choosing to screen share the video. It's easy to test by starting a Zoom for yourself to screenshare and then joining from another device to see what is being shared. A word of caution - sharing video requires powerful internet both on the host and participant side.

    I don't have the same options in the "More" settings while screen sharing that you have; there's no "Show Video Panel" I want to be able to see participants videos, chats, or reactions when sharing. The minimal floating meeting controls open separate dialogs that get in the way and participant's videos are simply not available. "Use dual monitors" only allows for participants videos and doesn't have any of the other features in the window. Is there any other way to get the full functionality while screen sharing?

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  ปีที่แล้ว

      The menus/controls may have changed since this video was created. It sounds like you've investigated the different options. Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions. I'm not sure why you don't see participant videos. Those always open for when when I or a participant starts screen sharing. You've probably already seen this but just in case this is the related Zoom support article - support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362153-Sharing-your-screen-or-desktop-on-Zoom

    • @jonathanrecktenwald
      @jonathanrecktenwald ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks anyway! For other people that may come across this, I'm on Version: 5.11.11 (8425). It may because of my companies particular setup and due to me not being the admin? It was the same limitation on my personal laptop too, but I haven't checked that version number, so it's possible that may be the issue. Each individual feature is available, but not all in one place by default. Manually opening, arranging, and managing multiple extra dialogs disrupts the flow of being the presenter.

    Hi....Thanks for the very clear tips on how to screen share. Was waiting for to show to share a recording (something like a recording of my husband singing which we recorded via Band Lab. • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The host has control of who can screen share. They can set the call up so that participants can share or so that only hosts/moderators can share.

    Can you explain how "share multiple screens" works or why it may be better or worse than sharing screens one at a time. Can I use split screens while using share screen?

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sharing multiple screens allows more than one person to share their screens at the same time. Here is more info: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115000424286-Sharing-multiple-screens-simultaneously You can set up a practice session for your and see if you can use split screens in the way you want by starting a Zoom meeting and joining with multiple devices.

    If I want to jump between a Word file (contract) and an Excel file (data for the contract) do I have to stop screen share and then start screen share every time I want to go between the two? Clunky.

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can stop and start the screen share to switch what you are sharing or you switch using the new share button. See this support article for more - support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362153-Sharing-your-screen-or-desktop-on-Zoom You could also share your full desktop - althought I generally don't do that to avoid sharing messages or other notifications that popup.

    Hi I am a newcomer to Zoom and I have a specific curriculum Step Forward. How do I organize the three three separate curriculums I will be teaching? That is, do I download them into a specific folder ... how do I access them while I am teaching. Borrokmarks or a folder or ?

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything that you want to share with screen sharing, needs to be open on your computer. For example, if the curriculums are pdf documents you would have the pdf open. The screen share dialog would show the open pdf as an option to choose to share.
      It can be really helpful to set up a testing Zoom meeting to see how this works and prepare. If you join the meeting from another device (your phone, tablet, or another computer) you can see how the sharing looks to a participant.

      One way to do that is to share a window when screensharing and not your full screen. If you have two monitors it is even easier.

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn off the camera (or avatar icon) from appearring in the upper right corner of the screen when a presenter is sharing their screen. We are a camera club and frequently show/discuss images. We want NOTHING on the shared screen but the shared image itself. It would be really nice if this could be turned off with a keyboard combination and even better still if it could be turned off as a default and left that way. Almost never do we need to see the presenter in the upper corner of the screen. How can I eliminate this?

    I still don't know how to use (one monitor) screen share to share a PowerPoint but also see the participants and chat. Very simple I would think. Maybe you've done this in a separate video but I would have hoped to see it in this basics video.

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a bit easier to use PowerPoint if you have multiple monitors but can be done with one. The chat window closes when you start to screen share. You can reopen it by using the controls at the top of the screen/window you are sharing. When you start to share a small window opens that shows thumbnails of the participants with controls to change how you see them. You can move that window as you desire. You'll probably want to open your powerpoint not in full screen mode. I highly recommend setting up a Zoom meeting for yourself and practicing to see how everything works. You can join the call from your phone to have a participant.

      There are ways to use 2 cameras as a host using Advanced Screen Sharing options. Here is one related link community.zoom.com/t5/Meetings/Using-multiple-cameras-on-one-host-computer/m-p/29885
      That would give you a way to do 2 of the 3 you would like. You might need to log in with another device and Zoom account to get the third. I'm not aware of another way to do it. The controls explained in this video may help - th-cam.com/video/4lXHnrL4Rps/w-d-xo.html

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting

    I was screen sharing in a meeting, but people (arriving late to the meeting) were sitting in the waiting room. Does the waiting room alert not show when you are in share screen mode? They had to text me to ask to be admitted.

    • @ChadlyCreativeConsulting
      @ChadlyCreativeConsulting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't experienced that scenario. It would be a good thing to experiment with using your setup. Start a Zoom meeting and a screen share. Then join the meeting using another device. If the alert is not going to show or disappears too quickly, you have some options. You could turn off the waiting room while you are screen sharing, have someone else set up as a moderator to watch and let people in, or open the participant window while you screen share to get a better view of people coming in.

      Great idea to practice first. You can set up a different meeting on your phone and join it from a different device. Then try to screen share. Sharing videos can be a challenge because of the strength of internet required for the host and participants.
