I love this comment more than the song. The good old days are an illusion. We have had the torture memories removed so we can't stop the actual bad guys.
“Summer of ’69” isn’t just a song, it’s a heartbeat of my childhood. Every time I hear it, I’m transported to a time when life was pure and unburdened, when dreams were big and summers felt eternal. It brings back memories of running barefoot under the sun, laughing with friends and holding onto moments that felt like they’d last forever. It reminds me of the child I once was, full of wonder, hope and the belief that life was limitless. This song isn’t just music, it’s the sound of my memories, a bittersweet echo of a time I can never return to but will always hold close to my heart.
I’m 30 and since middle school till now almost every day at work I hear and it just gets the blood flowing such a great song! 80s rock man most of these kids just don’t get it
I was 12 in 1969 and I remember it as one of the greatest summers of my young life. I built a tree house and I built a raft to ride up and down the local creek. What great memories I have. If I could go back, that is the year I would go back to.
53 years ago my wife, Diane and I had a heated romance during the Summer of 69 which ended in with us being married in October. We celebrate our anniversary every year in the mountains. We just celebrated our 53rd anniversary and we thank Bryan Adams for this song. It is truly "Our Song"
lol this song isn't about the year 1969. Bryan Adams was 10 in the summer of 1969. He has said it is about the sexual act 69. So when you tell people this is you and your wife's song and they give you a strange look, now you know why.
I swear if you are gonna interrupt my peace of sitting in my garden with complete silence by blasting that song down the streets im gonna whip your ass with Despacito
Talking of memories that don't exist,I'm watching this again a couple of hours after waking up from having had a dream about staying in a hotel we'd stayed in once before some years previously, and both times all kinds of things went wrong, causing much embarrassment. In reality I've never stayed in that hotel, which is supposedly situated in a town that I've never been to (and it seemed a bit grand compared to that town's reputation). So I had deja vu that didn't exist in a dream?
@@rjjcms1 Brother there are so many things that cant be explained. But I understand exactly what you mean you are not alone of having weird dreams like that and especially the dejavu... just enjoy the music and youtube as our only timemachine back to where the times where simpler and so much fun

And hello to you people who listen to this song in the year of 1001969 too :) Imagine that, one million and 1969 :) I wonder how people live their lives when those days comes around.
This song was played at Mothers funeral when I was a child 20 years ago, I came to live with my Grandma & for 19 years we listened to this song together crying, my Grandma sadly passed with Dementia but I know she would be proud that I can listen to this song in honour of her & my Mother now!
So are mine, my son especially loves music from the late 60's thru the mid 90's. Like they have both said music today doesn't have any real meaning behind it.
I remember the time, when this song was in the charts..and I totally don't know what this tiktok is about except what I saw in the ads here on YT... I guess I am lucky 😉
Nobody cares how young you are when listening to 20+ old music. I see this kind of comment everywhere!! My entire school listens to old music, I can ENSURE you a lot of people your age listens to 70s 80s and 90s music-
I love this song! It reminds me of growing up in the 80’s. Carefree summer days riding my bicycle, roller skating, going to the beach, catching bugs, and hanging out with the neighborhood kids. I definitely miss those days! 😢
I was a 80s toddler and I remember the early 90s hearing this in Los Angeles we where visiting my uncle that just moved there and he was happy showing us all the stores and Hollywood Blvd and the San Pedro bridge and the queen Mary and I remember hearing this song and looking around the van and being happy wit my lil bros my mom my grandma and my cousins now one of those cousins passed away and my grandma is gone and we hardly ever get together anymore but they are good memories

I’ll be playing this in 2069. I was born in 1990 and I’ll be very old years from now but I know my soul will be free and my heart full. I’m already blessed with great people in my life and I am so excited to see what life has in store for me. Memories yet to still be made. Can’t wait for the summer of 69’.
When was everyone's summer of 69? For me it was '96. Friendship, freedom, first girlfriend. No cares or worries, everything exciting and new, just loving being alive. I miss those days.
my summer of ´69 was the februrary und march 2019. Best time of life till now. i went to south africa and it had been so cool and free, i allways willremember that time
I'm 69 today and yes I do wish I could turn back time to the Real Summer of 69. 18 in the summer of 69. What A Time It Was. To meet someone you would have to speak in person at the beach or a party, being too young for clubs and bars, that was 21 where I come from. No mobile phones, no apps, no internet, no emails. Speak in person, use a landline or write a letter, those were the options. Photos were on film and they would take a week or two to be developed, no selfies, not in those days. Progress does have its benefits it also has its complications. I know this generation love their phones and that's the world 2020. I'm just so glad I grew up without them in The Summer Of 69.
This is Bryan's best song. "And now the times are changing / Look at everything that's come and gone." We kids of the '80s heard the words, but we didn't think about how it would be us one day.
I'm 36 now but I have loved this song all my life. Although growing up in the 90s/2000s, when I hear this timeless classic I am taken back in time... Back to my late teens listening to it in my teenage bedroom back in the hometown I grew up in. Thank you Bryan for the soundtrack of my life and the memories in my head every time this song comes on the radio.
I graduated from high school in 1984 . . When this song first came out . . . Damn it was great then and still great today . . .. glad to see younger people enjoying the music I knew back when I was 17 years old . . I'm now 56 . . Hahaha 😂😂😂😂

This song makes me wish I could travel back in time to live the 60s and 70s. I mean, I didn't have a bad childhood, maybe one of the last from this generation to have a gang of friends and spend entire summer days outside playing and being little rascals, but how fast that goes away... When I was 15 I thought I could have that forever, that sort of freedom that comes when you actually got nothing but minor concerns, internet was just for research, phones were rare. Now here I am reaching my 30s. This song always gets me on the best and worst about nostalgia, damn good job Mr. Adams... Damn good job.
Dang, I’m not even from that time. I was born in 2005. I wish I could live in the 80s that would’ve been fun or 70s. The fashion and the atmosphere seemed so cool
Humberto G Alagia Jr dude I’m 15 rn, and dude the 80s sound so cool. The whole atmosphere, summer with ur friends. That’s kinda rare now because most of the time my friends an I meet up only on special occasions.
I'm a fifteen year old who really loves vintage, whatever it is. Well yesterday me and my dad were going through some boxes of old stuff ranging from 10 years ago to the 1950s. Finally after some hours we found the old stereo we were looking for, which we went looking for without even knowing certainly if we'd have found it at all or if it'd have worked. Well it did and later we came to know that under it there was, hidden, a huge bunch of music casettes and tapes (between them there was the one with this song) which we long thought lost or dead. You can't real imagine my dad's and mine reaction, we were literally stunned, happily stunned. We literally spent the whole day rewinding the songs from our childhood on that old stereo. Translated: we spent the whole day crying.
I was born in a small town in the middle of nowhere in Mexico in the late 80s, I have listened to this song for many yrs, great song. Now I live in the exact town where this video was recorded in Canada, just realized today, first time I see the original video and my mind was blown when the "Chilliwack" sign came out!!! WOW, the town is still awesome and chill btw!
as a small child my dad would always play this song for hours and hours and me and my brothers would just dance and sing at the top of our lungs without knowing the lyrics outside our house and just having fun.it's 2021 now and everything is completely different from back then..best childhood song ever.
man i swear music like this makes me so happy my dad always played music like this while i was a little kid and i still love this music it always reminds me of my dad and how i spent every minute of everyday with him
When I was 10, I bought this cassette single and played it in my walkman line by line, writing all the words down so I could learn them! I played this on repeat. It's almost 2024, and this will always be a timeless classic!
@@GoetheNorris At 10, that didn't cross my mind. After considering that possibility, I disagree. The likelihood of someone reminiscing about the best days of their life in the summer of 1969 seems a lot greater than the likelihood of a couple of teens going straight to graduate-level kama sutra activities.
1992 to 2007 the best days of my life 😊😊😊. 2007 matriculation passed . And after that upto now just existing . Dont miss your young days guys . Its all rubbish beyond youth . Life itself is very short and youth itself is very short . Dont miss your young days guys 😊😊😊😊😊.
The 80's is the reason things are so truly and inherently Fucked Up Beyond Repair in the states... Greed filled 80's Republican party following a God Damn actor into creating a financial sink hole of debt for people to drown themselves in while they all got rich off it!
80's when this song was released were "the best days of my life". I just didn't know it at the time. But now looking back...the theme of the song is exactly how I feel now. So many memories and I've lost so many family members due to passage of time. So...so... feel this song now. Tears.... Thank you Mr. Adams for this song. I remember it in real time. I now truly appreciate and better understand your sentiment now.
This reminds me of a song that says "These are the good old days. I don't care what they have to say." (311). Nobody knows the when the best days are happening until they're over.
@@christina311uss True. You just don't know your experiencing the "best days" until years later. In my case, decades. With the loss of my mother a few months ago and my dad in 1990 and being an only child, my memories are just the only thing keeping sane at the moment. I so miss those times in the 80's. I felt safe and loved and protected.
@@Malcontent- I'm an only child and only had my mother. I lost her almost 10 years ago and since that day I feel like a lost orphan. She was the one constant thing in my life. She was the type of parent that would take a day off work and drive 3 hours to see me if I went through a bad breakup. Or make a trip with a bunch of gifts when I adopted a pet. I could talk to her about anything in the world. Nothing compares and there is no way to get that back.
@@christina311uss I feel for you sister. I'm a 50 year old orphan myself. No parents, no grand parents, no siblings, and only 2 living aunties. Living in childhood home after taking care of my mother. Just so many memories...the losses are just crushing.

I think "Heaven" is also on top maybe even better than this one

This song makes me wish I could travel back in time to live the 60s and 70s. I mean, I didn't have a bad childhood, maybe one of the last from this generation to have a gang of friends and spend entire summer days outside playing and being little rascals, but how fast that goes away... When I was 15 I thought I could have that forever, that sort of freedom that comes when you actually got nothing but minor concerns, internet was just for research, phones were rare. Now here I am reaching my 30s. This song always gets me on the best and worst about nostalgia, damn good job Mr. Adams... Damn good job.

@@GoetheNorris At 10, that didn't cross my mind. After considering that possibility, I disagree.
@@Malcontent- I'm an only child and only had my mother. I lost her almost 10 years ago and since that day I feel like a lost orphan. She was the one constant thing in my life.
