I remember the night the wall came down. It brought me to tears because it represented a time of peace and harmony. I'm sad that we cannot return to the feelings that people all over the world shared on that fateful night.

My father used to always whistle a beautiful tune when I was growing up, and it has since stuck with me, especially after his passing. Always thought it was just some random tune, so imagine my shock and surprise when I heard that very same whistle tune come blaring out of the blue from a nearby radio the other day! What an incredibly beautiful song, it'll remind me of a heartfelt memory every time I hear it. Very grateful to be able to learn some more of what my father was like through his music taste!

Really makes me think of how important the events of 1989-1991 have been. Everything from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the collapse of the Soviet Union has changed the entire world in one way or another. And to see all the clips played to this stunning piece of music gives me goose bumps and brings a tear to my eye.
But the writer was deluded: we're not closer, and we're not "brothers" yet. Seeing such high hopes being crushed like that, despite fateful world events, is truly despairing.
It was great seeing the fall of communism in the 80s but unfourtunatelly those who held those beliefs infiltrated our college and universities in the 60s and spread their ideologies to our children for decades and today they want to instill those same ideologies here in the US! How crazy is that!! Its like they forgot history and the millions of people who died due to communism! Its terrible!
I was 20 years old the night the Berlin Wall came down. I stayed up for hours watching it happen on live TV. Having grown up during the Cold War, it was nothing any of us thought could ever happen. But it did. This song captures the feeling of the time perfectly. Relations with the Soviet Union were improving, and the looming threat of nuclear Armageddon seemed to be fading into history. Fast forward to today.. how did things go so far backwards? It seems to me like many have forgotten those dark awful days of the past. Perhaps they need to listen to this song. Perhaps the whole world needs to again
Well the threat of nuclear warfare is what has successfully prevented the superpowers from world War, that's about the only good thing about it I don't think anyone wishes to see the world blasted into oblivion...not yet anyway

Nope, "Wind of Change" encapsulated the hope of a better tomorrow after the end of the Cold War. (For brink of destruction, I suggest "99 Luftballons"). That hope has ended, we're back to the brink of destruction.
I have always loved this song and it affects me on a very personal level. The winds of change in the late 80s and 90s opened a whole new world for me and many more. My Russian wife was allowed to come to Korea to study in 1998. I was teaching English in Korea and one night I met her and fell in love and followed her back to Russia where I took a job teaching English. Without the winds of change we would most likely never have met and our two lovely daughters would never have been born.
Okay, I'm pretty sturdy but this made me cry in happiness and not sorrow. I remember how powerful this moment was, and to see a beautiful story like this one that gave life to a loving family is why I continue to have hope in this world. Awesome my brother... I went to see my Ethiopian friend who had caught ALS and decided to go home to die. We have been friends for 35 years he became an American citizen. I went back to see him twice in 15 months. The first trip his friend introduced me to the most wonderful Ethiopian girl. We communicated for 6 months I went back to see him and married her. Here we are seven years later Wonderful wife and a beautiful four-year-old daughter! Life's most WINDERFULL dream! 🙏💞

Really makes me think of how important the events of 1989-1991 have been. Everything from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the collapse of the Soviet Union has changed the entire world in one way or another. And to see all the clips played to this stunning piece of music gives me goose bumps and brings a tear to my eye.
I was there in West Germany 78-81 and 82-85 and 87-91 seen a lot history being made , could not go to West Berlin due to my MOS.
But the writer was deluded: we're not closer, and we're not "brothers" yet. Seeing such high hopes being crushed like that, despite fateful world events, is truly despairing.
It was great seeing the fall of communism in the 80s but unfourtunatelly those who held those beliefs infiltrated our college and universities in the 60s and spread their ideologies to our children for decades and today they want to instill those same ideologies here in the US! How crazy is that!! Its like they forgot history and the millions of people who died due to communism! Its terrible!

I was 20 years old the night the Berlin Wall came down. I stayed up for hours watching it happen on live TV. Having grown up during the Cold War, it was nothing any of us thought could ever happen. But it did. This song captures the feeling of the time perfectly. Relations with the Soviet Union were improving, and the looming threat of nuclear Armageddon seemed to be fading into history. Fast forward to today.. how did things go so far backwards? It seems to me like many have forgotten those dark awful days of the past. Perhaps they need to listen to this song. Perhaps the whole world needs to again

I lived through all that too and it's heartbreaking to see so little progress by the world leaders in that same time. I truly believe that majority of people not in power have similar feelings and would be brothers if not for the political leadership
Nope, "Wind of Change" encapsulated the hope of a better tomorrow after the end of the Cold War. (For brink of destruction, I suggest "99 Luftballons"). That hope has ended, we're back to the brink of destruction.

I have always loved this song and it affects me on a very personal level. The winds of change in the late 80s and 90s opened a whole new world for me and many more. My Russian wife was allowed to come to Korea to study in 1998. I was teaching English in Korea and one night I met her and fell in love and followed her back to Russia where I took a job teaching English. Without the winds of change we would most likely never have met and our two lovely daughters would never have been born.

I remember how powerful this moment was, and to see a beautiful story like this one that gave life to a loving family is why I continue to have hope in this world. Awesome my brother... I went to see my Ethiopian friend who had caught ALS and decided to go home to die. We have been friends for 35 years he became an American citizen. I went back to see him twice in 15 months. The first trip his friend introduced me to the most wonderful Ethiopian girl. We communicated for 6 months I went back to see him and married her. Here we are seven years later Wonderful wife and a beautiful four-year-old daughter! Life's most WINDERFULL dream! 🙏💞
