I used RIT apple green with a shot of OD Green mixed in and it turned out phenomenal on an old set of Gulf War Desert 'snake" camo.

The FPG one looks like Russian digital flora camo.

We've seem that a few times with a few items. There's always variation in how it comes out based on wear and tear or the material blend of the item being dyed

    Hi Lee,
I've been checking out your site, it's great. My question is,
is it possible to dye UPC a deeper shade of FPG2 to darken the lighter areas more so?

Thanks for your hard work and humor!

Hey, it is. Darkness is controlled by time in the dye. Longer dye time, darker it'll become.

Nice video man. What colors do you use to get your RG? I was able to get a solid RG color one time (or as close to it as possible), but dont remember the formula 😅

His advice on the ruck is interesting. Guys, try to put the majority of the weight on your shoulders. Get that Ruck up high in the frame, but not too high. That's how I used it, and it worked nicely.

Ritt dye, 3 gallons of water, half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of salt. Boil the water, add vinegar and salt, add clothes. Make sure clothes are submerged, stir clothes every 15 minutes for an hour for an even color. Let them soak longer for a darker shade

@@PaxtonCreekSupply thank you for the educational response, Sargent sarcasm. I'm just saying it's kind of crazy for people to spend extra money for some company to dye their clothes when people could easily just spend $6 and custom match their clothes to their environment instead of hoping some company offers the color they want.

@@MikeTyson-il5gn you're entirely missing the point of why we offer the service. There's many people who do dye their own and we are all for it. We don't offer it for them. There are many who don't have the time or desire to go thru the work and have unpredictable results. When you buy the service you're buying the labor going into it and a guarantee that the end product is going to be evenly done instead of spotty. It's like buying tomato sauce for spaghetti. Tomato seeds are $1 at Walmart and will go enough tomatoes for multiple jars. 99% of people don't wanna go thru that work tho so they pay for the jar of pre-made stuff to save time.

@@PaxtonCreekSupply lol dying military surplus gear isn't nearly the same as taking the time to grow plants, harvest them and send them off to be processed. I get what you're saying but for less than $50 I just dyed a complete uniform yesterday. (Boonie cap, combat shirt, field jacket, pants) and it only took an hour. I sat on my couch and watched TV, taking the time to get up and every 15 minutes and stir the pot so everything got dyed evenly. If people don't want to dye their own clothes then they don't have to but my comment was for the people that can take an hour out of their day to let a pot of water sit on the stove.
