We did that track just before they closed it after the black summer fires. You could see all the old diggings and building foundations. There was not one bit of greenery. It's amazing how our country has the ability to recover after fire.
It’s crazy the regrowth around the areas affected by fire. I’ll definitely be going back to check out the old mining areas of the area. Fair bit of history there. Thanks for watching and taking the time out to comment. 👍🏼
Jason from @offthebeatenpath is a natural cartographer - recalls everything about the tracks and geography. Great video Gav!! I wish I was there in swimming weather when I went through last. I know that one video per month is still heaps of work, and will occupy your brain waves more than most understand. You have a great channel, and its providing so much value. Thanks!
Cheers Dan. I didn’t go swimming by choice! 🤦🏽🤣 but weather was on my favour! Cheers for watching mate, and I will tag along with you guys one day to taste that cooking of yours 👍🏼 Keep well Mate.
Thanks man. Glad I checked your channel. I wasn't sure where the Haunted stream was, but that east Gippsland scrub is pretty unmistakable. I could handle camping by that stream any day, the silence would be golden. Hope your Christmas with your Mum was good. All the best for 2024. 😵💫
Yeah, it’s a great spot, i too love the sounds of running water when at camp. Sorry I missed ya comment. I had a great NY’s and Xmas Mort, caught up on a lot. Now just back to the grind. Keep Well mate. 👍🏼
Your message on Facebook got me started to think about doing some new tracks, we might give this one a go with our internal crew. So many crossing but seems like it'll be a nice little drive for something differant!
Definitely an easy drive at the moment. Just be a few deep crossing if it’s rained recently. It s a spectacular drive once you get into the crossing. Just not much room to pull over in spots for oncoming vehicles !
Thanks James, it’s a beautiful drive and an easy one at the moment. Definitely needs to be driven, but the track conditions will deteriorate with a few good storms. Cheers for watching and taking the time out to comment 👍🏼

Craig … It’s closed just for slashing works, but it’s also for surrounding tracks in the area. So will only be for a day or so for each track. Pretty easy drive at the moment, I’ll be back again in a while, or after a bit of rain, make it a bit more challenging. Cheers for watching 👍🏼
Just need to make the time, but life is hectic at times. Hope ya scratching right now… everyone needs to get out a lot more often and take what this awesome country has to offer ! Cheers 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed the track mate, it's an epic drive and you're not wrong you could photograph almost every crossing and get a postcard quality picture. Thanks for the shout out :-) We didn't drive those rock steps either, also didn't want to damage anything at the start of a long trip.
Too easy 👍🏼 I didn’t even realise that I had driven around the rock steps till I seen it in the rear vision mirror. Wasn’t interested in it to tell the truth, I was the same, had 6-7 days in front of me travelling.
Did Haunted Stream earlier this year. Not long after the huge rains. Your right about the need to spend more time. I had kids and we were on a time limit so didn't get to let it all sink in just how magical the place was. Dawson city I felt was a bit of a let down however will be keen to go back, take some photos and explore more of the area! Great video as always.

Nice one mate. It certainly is a beautiful track with the picturesque water crossings. I didn't notice too many camping spots along it. What I did notice is all the blackberries swamping the bush sadly. I hate the bloody things. Great effort mate, thanks much again. Cheers, BobbyB.
Some serious blackberries in there, but DELWP are heading in there and the surrounding tracks to do some slashing apparently, let’s hope they also are spraying the fucking things. Cheers Bobby 👍🏼😜
Awesome video Gav, and equally great to see you in good form again! Good timing too, I'm heading on the same trip in about a month... Will cross paths with you one day I'm sure, still got few beers chilling for that day. Stay well mate
Thank Ian. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. They are doing some maintenance works on the track and the surrounding areas, might pay just to check that out just in case mate. Look up Deeca Gippsland. Think works start now for 2 months, just slashing etc. but only short closures for certain tracks.
Great to see you out on the tracks again Gav! Awnings look schmick - maybe a vid or the troopy changes is in order pal?! I haven’t been to Haunted stream for 9 or 10 years now, back then it was 33” MTs on 16psi and sitting on diffs every river exit and winching hahah was awesome and a real slog to get through, especially as it rained endlessly! Incab is definitely easier, and sometimes may be required, but as a viewer the lengths you go to for your footage really do create great content mate. Well done, keep up the great work! James
Thanks James… I’m slowly getting the troopy to where I want it apart from the rear setup, so I’ll start to do some reviews of products and the troopy soon. Yeah, I can imagine, we tried it back in 1992 on dirt bikes, I was was on a yz250, had a bit to much go in it for me, had rained heaps, from memory we didn’t get to far. It’s a bit of a walk in the park at the moment, but give it a while, should get a bit more challenging with some good rain over the next year. Hey Gavin, good show. A few mates and I went to the Southern end, same as where you started to do the haunted stream track but the track was closed. The missus and I really enjoyed watching and has made me more determined to get back there to do it. P. S hope that you can still use your phone 😂after its bath. Hope we meet out on the tracks I'll shout you a beer, John from @talkabout adventures
Hey John, yeah the phone is still operational. TG! It’s been closed a lot over the last few years for maintenance, it was in a pretty bad way, some would say it was better back then. Over time it will deteriorate, but right now it’s good for an average 4wder to get in there and check it out before it turn rough and panel damage will be expected again. 🤦🏽 Keep an eye out for me, make sure you shout out. 👍🏼
Great to see you back in a new vid. Relaxing now with an afternoon cuppa after my 1st week back at work after the ankle fracture. Cheers for the entertainment.
Welcome back! Really appreciate all the hard work you put into getting all those camera angles. It really gives us a good feeling of what it is like to drive those tracks. Much better than talking head only videos - you've got a bit of everything. Cheers,
Cheers Neil, try to get out as much as I can to film externally, but it can make it a loonngggg day sometimes. Thanks for your support mate, it’s greatly appreciated. 👍🏼
Yeah, just wanted to drop this as it’s only opened up recently after being closed for sometime, and wanted to be one of the first. But it was actually 1 month nearly to the day of my actual “Stepping Back” episode. Thanks for watching Pete. 👍🏼
When you get down this way mate I reckon there will be plenty of tracks for you to put on ya list. Put this on isn’t too bad at all. Should get back to the old challenging track it was after a few good rains. 👍🏼
Great to see you back. How is your mum? Did you have a great Christmas. I hope the break has helped you just remember, if your having a bad day just take one step forward. Take care of yourself and stay safe
Hey Anne, mum is as good as she can be, never going to be where she wants to be in life. Christmas break always great, had a month off so got a lot done, feels like I’ve caught up a little on life. Thanks for your support, it’s greatly appreciated 👍🏼
Mate that’s an awesome track! Thanks for sharing it with us Gav. Really appreciate the work that goes into putting one of these videos together👍 PS. Glad you saved your thong!😂😂😂😂😂
Bloody Thong 🤦🏽🤣 Nearly done myself some serious injuries. Definitely couldn’t afford to lose it on my first day is a 7 day trip. Appreciate you taking the time out to watch and comment 👍🏼
That’s true Jason, it’s always different around every corner. I could drive it for the rest of my life and not see it all. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏼
Great video - glad to see stepping back has helped. We'll all be here next time you upload, even if it's in 6 months time. That haunted track just looks so beautiful and you present it so well.
Thanks Mate, was pretty easy to film, well apart from going c@&t up chasing my thong. 🤣🤦🏽 Hope o can keep the episodes at a month. The break was good, achieved a lot, but still have heaps to still catch up with, but I’m definitely in a better place. Cheers for the support.👍🏼
Good to see you again Gav. I attempted this track towing a light weight trailer 25 years ago. The track had alot of exposed rock sections and I had to move a few bigger ones to get the trailer through. I ended up turning around and continued on to Omeo and Wonagatta as planned... I really enjoyed this episode. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers, Pete
Cheers Peter, the track was in great condition after the recent works to it. I heard it use to be challenging. We attempted it on motorbikes back in the early 90’s, don’t think we got to far !! 🤦🏽🤣
Thanks mate, not far to go to drive it 👍🏼. It’s not a steep track so finding spots to pass wouldn’t be that bad I guess, not like some VhC tracks. Definitely worth the drive.
Great to see you back out enjoying the bush Gav. Timely vid this one as ive just got back from the high country and thought to myself this will be the next trip. Spoke to two different poeple at two different camps when i was out and both of them mentioned your channel as to how they heard about the spots, so good stuff mate.
That’s what’s it’s all about for me Damo, getting out there and showing people what’s actually out there. From there they can decide whether to go or not. Puts a smile on my face when I hear that people are out there exploring these places. Don’t forget when you do it, it’s only 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours max to drive it, and only really Dawson City is the only really decent spot to camp along it. Once again, thanks for the ongoing support for the channel, meals a lot mate. 👍🏼
Yeah Mick, achieved a lot over the Xmas break… and just knowing that I’m only doing an episode a month has taken some weight off my shoulders. Cracking spot that the Haunted Stream 👍🏼
Hey Gav! HNY and great to see that smile again from under that legendary moustache. Nice vid. Definitely one of my bucket list tracks. Keep doing what ur doing mate. 🤘
Thanks Bergo, just stepped back from producing as much content as before. Hoping it will give me a bit more of a life. Less is better I’m hoping… monthly drops from now on hopefully. 🤞 Mix it up a little. Thanks for the support.
It’s beautiful that’s for sure. It’s was actually good to get out and film it rather then just driving it, got to take some much more of it in. Cheers for the support 👍🏼🍻
Awesome to see you in the old girl again doing what you love and bringing us along for the ride. I don't reckon anyone would complain if you went to a more incar stlye type of camera work. Would save the legs from having to walk and set up shots, and also the headache of editing it all. Win, win i reckon. I'm keen as mustard to hit this track so to see this vid pop up made me very excited. Cheers for all that you put into it mate.
Salsa, I don’t mind setting up the cameras, rather that over in car footage. The old legs don’t like it’s quite as much though … but the old girl loves the footage of itself. 🤣👍🏼 Definitely put on your bucket list. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 👍🏼
Plenty of them, I reckon about 45 of the Haunted Stream itself. It’s been about 30 years since I’ve been on it, on dirt bikes back then, from memory we didn’t get to far !! 🤣🤣 I reckon a lot of people would be driving past it without knowing.
Awesome vid Gav, was glad to see a new one up. Love the style of your vids but sometimes it looks like your struggling to climb up and down slippery tracks so i dont think anyone would complain about an in car format now and then. Take care mate
Good to see you back. I've seen the other channels you mentioned they are good. I do love your out of car work and appreciate the effort. I've looked at that track in maps and it's on the list. Are they many places to camp or stop in the river? Cheers Ray
Thanks Mate… i was never to far away. Not much in the way of camping spots, only really Dawson City at the end of the track and the first actual river crossing, but Wikicamps shows a lot more, might be off the main track a bit maybe. As for river access the first river crossing that you come to is the best for access.
hey mate great to see ya out and about again and what a stunning track it was too. You did a great job with the number of camera angles and moving to get the shots....! It should be renamed The Track of a Thousand crossings.😁 I didn't see any spots to camp other than Dawson City but would be fab to spend a bit more time there maybe casting a line or gold panning if that's permitted of course.😎👏👍Cheers Gav
Thanks mate. It’s definitely a stunning track. Not much in the way of camps really, unless there a few just off the main track, shows a few on Wikicamps, but I didn’t see them. I plan on going back in the to check out the gold mining areas, just doing some research now. Yes you can pan in there, just not suicing ( or mechanical sluicing ) not actually sure of the rules regarding that. Thanks for watching Steve. Keep well mate. 👍🏼
Mate as you say, those rivers and creeks are so picturesque and mesmerisingly beautiful. Do they feed into the Tambo, or some other river? Love all those senecios too, always good seeing native species doing well. It's been a great season for them. Thanks for taking us on another amazing trip Gav.
Hey Mat, Haunted Stream feeds the Tambo River. It’s a great drive, was happy to get your and film it. Rather than just driving it, got to take a lot more of it in. All good mate, thanks for the support. 👍🏼
Looks like a great track. I also solo travel normally and quite often watch Lucy and Jase to get a really good idea on how a track is. I’m working part time from this year so hoping to get out through the week now and try and avoid the weekend rush. And don’t stress if you don’t do as many videos nowadays. Quality over quantity. It just will make us more excited when you put one up 😅 cheers!
Always handy to watch them guys if the videos are new, I’m more Jase then Lucy, but both good. That’s the go mid week, nothing worse then traffic on a track, makes it hard to enjoy. Definitely only dropping one a month, if that. Cheers for watching and taking the time to comment 👍🏼
What a fun track. I love a good trail with plenty of river crossings. As you pointed out, its not just driving but its so beautiful and scenic. Must add this to my 'to do' list for my next trip down that way. Well done pal, entertaining vid keep it up!
Yeah it’s a cracker, will deteriorate and become more challenging like it was before the works were done, normally some panel damage would come out of it.
Was trying to do it before they closed it, wanted to say I’d driven it before they fixed it. But it just seemed to be closed forever. Spectacular drive that’s for sure. 👍🏼
Hi mate I good job on the videos I live in Melbourne and are constantly looking for privet out of the way campsites near rivers or streams beaches etc that are free we are self sufficient as well keep up the good work mate hope to see u out there
If I can see the bottom I normally don’t walk them, but in saying that I’m always setting cameras up so I’m normally always walking them multiple times. 🤦🏽🤣
Yeah I know, it’s been shit nearly the whole time I’ve been back in Vic. Attempted to ride dirt bikes up it back in about 1992, after a heap of rain, could say we didn’t get real far !! 🤣🤣
Just as usual great content I have done this track thank you hope you’re travelling well and enjoying life would like to meet on a track some day and have a beer all the best mate
Thanks PK, went up Dawson City Track to Angora Range Track then back down to the Great Alpine Way. That way wasn’t too bad, I’ve been down Dawson City Track from Engineers Road, that was definitely steeper then the way I went out.
@@timhaynes739 it was like that in spots, but I reckon you’d still find enough room if you confronted someone coming the other way. Don’t let that stop you from driving it. I only past the one group and they were pulled over having lunch.
There are 52 crossings on the stream, which have in the last month been done up. The 2019 - 2020 fires have certainly done a lot of damage. It is one track that should not be done alone, as there are a lot of things that can go wrong, and I've seen it happen a few times.
Thanks for watching mate, and I appreciate you taking the time out to comment. 52 yes, but not all of these are of the Haunted Stream, some were dry creek beds when I drove it which I don’t really class as a river crossing🤷🏼 The repairs were done before Xmas, as to why the track is in such good condition in this video which was filmed a couple days before NYE. You could drive this in a Subaru Brumby at the moment. But with some major rain events it will get back to the way it was before the repairs. The recent works and closures were for weed control and slashing of certain areas and surrounding tracks from my knowledge. Cheers 🍻
@@aguyandhistroopy It was about 15 years ago I last went through it. It was much clearer, and every crossing had water in it. I've been through it from both sides, starting from Engineers Rd as well. Pity you didn't stop at the Stirling pub site. Would have like to have seen what it was like after the fires. There are several mines to the North side of Stirling, including a cricket pitch on top of one of the hills. Love you vids, keep it up.
@@landseaairphotography I tried to ride it on a bike back in 89 or 90, we had a big night in the piss and it was wet, fair to say we didn’t get far. I want to go back and look at more of the gold mining side of things one day soon ( more like a year or so away ). Have some mates that go in the panning, so want to find out more about it. Even the story behind why it’s called the haunted stream is pretty interesting. Never knew about the cricket pitch though. Cheers mate. 👍🏼
Yeah, I heard it was pretty bad there for a while, could nearly expect panel damage. 🤦🏽 We had a crack on dirt bikes back in 1992, from memory it was after a heap of rain. You could say we didn’t get to far. Cheers for watching and taking the time to comment Winch Wench !! 🤣🤦🏽
Hey mate, nah it’s a gazetted road as such, just make sure you close them. Think you’ll find up a bit further it becomes a seasonal closure, still have to wait a few months. Cheers 🍻
Not many when you actually drive it. 3 stand out ones in the first river crossing on the other side, Bayliss’s campground ( not real level and not on the river ) and Dawson City at the end. Wikicamp shows a lot more, unless they are just of the main track. Hope that helps !
Hard for me to answer that with the amount of times I stop to film. But I reckon l’d be safe to say from the start at Great Alpine Way to Dawson City it would be around 1.5hours.
Just watching one of your videos and thinking how much effort you put in not only where you go but the constant to and from the vehicle Setting up shots with your cameras etc…. Excellent work and thank you for the trouble you go to ….very much appreciated 👍
Cheers Derek, yeah, a lot of hard work that’s for sure, but that’s the content I want to create. I’ve had people travel with me who want to help but i still run the cameras. Always looking for that better angle. Thanks for taking the time out to watch and comment mate, it’s greatly appreciated. 👍🏼
Only for maintenance, as in slashing etc. it’s mainly the tracks around it from what I believe. Its in easy too good of condition to close it at the moment. Have to let some people enjoy it a little first.! 👍🏼🤣
Thanks, Gav, for this upload. It was great camera work. Considering the number of times you would have moved the camera, the angles you have captured are perfect. Also love the way you explain actual depths instead if just declaring "it's deep" l mean seriously what the fuck does that mean wirh all the different vehicles and clearances you have in different models! 😆 Also it's a pity after we all pick up other people's shit, we couldn't hand it in for DNA testing! The morons that leave rubbish will get a track closed quicker than you can do up your fly on yah jeans grrr! The reason why anyone really heads bush is to experience pristine wilderness and quiet times! Glad to see you out and about again Mate, enjoy your time exploring. Cheers
Bahahaha, might of worked for me hey !! Not a big clickbait sort of person, but I definitely like ya way of thinking !! Cheers for watching and commenting ! 👍🏼👍🏼
Nah mate, Dawson City at the end and Bayliss’s campground which isn’t real level. Wiki Camp show a few more, but might just be off the main track? Mind you it only takes 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours to drive it.

Cheers Neil, try to get out as much as I can to film externally, but it can make it a loonngggg day sometimes.
Thanks for your support mate, it’s greatly appreciated. 👍🏼
Thanks mate. Bit of a bonus episode after your wind down video. Thanks for sharing. Love your work. Inspiring.
Yeah, just wanted to drop this as it’s only opened up recently after being closed for sometime, and wanted to be one of the first.
But it was actually 1 month nearly to the day of my actual “Stepping Back” episode.
Thanks for watching Pete. 👍🏼
Awesome mate, what a great track. ITs definitely on my list 👍.
Thanks for doing what you do mate, what an epic track, looking forward to the next one ……cheers 🍺🍺
Cheers Alan, appreciate the support, be a month mate. 👍🏼
Mate that’s an awesome track! Thanks for sharing it with us Gav. Really appreciate the work that goes into putting one of these videos together👍
PS. Glad you saved your thong!😂😂😂😂😂
Bloody Thong 🤦🏽🤣
Nearly done myself some serious injuries. Definitely couldn’t afford to lose it on my first day is a 7 day trip.
Appreciate you taking the time out to watch and comment 👍🏼
@@aguyandhistroopy no worries mate your channel is definitely worth supporting. Chris
Welcome back!
Thanks mate, felt like I never left. 🤦🏽
This will be the start of the monthly episodes, I’ve enjoyed the break so far. 👍🏼
What a cool track
Definitely one for my bucket list
Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Definitely worth putting on the bucket list. Only a short drive but well worth it.
Cheers for watching and taking the time to comment. 👍🏼
Great vid mate, love seeing these areas. Can never get enough of the high country.
That’s true Jason, it’s always different around every corner. I could drive it for the rest of my life and not see it all.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍🏼
Great content awesome track I hope to go down that way sometime to see some of the gold history. Thanks for sharing the experience
Hey Paul, I also want to go back and explore the gold mining parts of it a bit more, be some interesting spots and history in there for sure. 👍🏼
Another great episode mate. Thanks for taking us along. Good stuff saving your thong too! !
Thanks Rich, was glad it didn’t break the plugger !! 🤣🤣
Cheers for watching 👍🏼
Great video - glad to see stepping back has helped. We'll all be here next time you upload, even if it's in 6 months time. That haunted track just looks so beautiful and you present it so well.
Thanks Mate, was pretty easy to film, well apart from going c@&t up chasing my thong. 🤣🤦🏽
Hope o can keep the episodes at a month.
Nice vid mate
Cheers mate. 👍🏼
Top video!😊
Thanks mate 👍🏼
Good stuff mate. I live at Swift's Creek and plan on doing this track soon. Handy to know you don't want to bump into anyone coming the other way.
Thanks mate, not far to go to drive it 👍🏼. It’s not a steep track so finding spots to pass wouldn’t be that bad I guess, not like some VhC tracks.
Definitely worth the drive.
Great video. Good to see you back on YOU TUBE again.
Cheers Ant, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.👍🏼
Awsome Gav ya look like the stress has lifted 😁🍻
Yeah Mick, achieved a lot over the Xmas break… and just knowing that I’m only doing an episode a month has taken some weight off my shoulders.
Cracking spot that the Haunted Stream 👍🏼
Hey Gav! HNY and great to see that smile again from under that legendary moustache. Nice vid. Definitely one of my bucket list tracks. Keep doing what ur doing mate. 🤘
Cheers Adam, happy NY’s to you also mate.
It’s worth doing for sure, pretty spectacular scenery.
Keep well mate. 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing your adventures. I thought you were taking a break? Good to see ya back
Thanks Bergo, just stepped back from producing as much content as before. Hoping it will give me a bit more of a life.
Less is better I’m hoping… monthly drops from now on hopefully. 🤞
Mix it up a little.
Thanks for the support.
Absolutely gorgeous bit of country there man, glad to see you're back on the horse! Loving the video so far.
Definitely put on your bucket list.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 👍🏼
Great video Gav, didn’t realise there were that many crossings. I go past the Omeo Hwy end all the time. Good to see you back and on the track.
Plenty of them, I reckon about 45 of the Haunted Stream itself. It’s been about 30 years since I’ve been on it, on dirt bikes back then, from memory we didn’t get to far !! 🤣🤣
I reckon a lot of people would be driving past it without knowing.
Awesome vid Gav, was glad to see a new one up. Love the style of your vids but sometimes it looks like your struggling to climb up and down slippery tracks so i dont think anyone would complain about an in car format now and then. Take care mate
Just old bones, i need the exercise, and makes the beers taste better that night. 🤣 not a big fan of too much in car content.
Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Hey mate great video.
Thanks Bully. Appreciate you taking the time out to watch 👍🏼
Nice one ole mate good to see you out and about again 🍻
Thanks mate. I’ll always be here. Enjoy making these episodes for people to see what’s out there.
As long as I have the time they will keep coming 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing your adventures Gav! Keep doing what your doing. :)
Too easy, appreciate you taking the time watch and comment on the episode. 👍🏼
Nice one Gav, your video's are the only offroad ones my wife will watch, you must be doing something right. Did your phone survive the swim?
She must have good taste Mick ! 🤣
Yeah mate, new iPhones are waterproof I think, it was just a quick dip. 🤦🏽
Thanks mate great work
No problems mate, thanks for watching .
Love this mate, keen to see more!
Thanks Guys, appreciate the support. Love the Molle Plates. Makes travelling out of the troopy so much easier. 👍🏼👌
Awesome to see you doing one of my all time favourite from back in the day mate, and to see another one of your vids 👍👍
Was trying to do it before they closed it, wanted to say I’d driven it before they fixed it. But it just seemed to be closed forever.
Spectacular drive that’s for sure. 👍🏼
Hi mate I good job on the videos I live in Melbourne and are constantly looking for privet out of the way campsites near rivers or streams beaches etc that are free we are self sufficient as well keep up the good work mate hope to see u out there
Hey mate, plenty of spots out the in the high country, better here in Vic then NSW as you have to pay everywhere 🤦🏽
Thanks for the support. 👍🏼
Beautiful part of the world out there Gav. Whats your process with the crossings, when do you walk them first or not?
If I can see the bottom I normally don’t walk them, but in saying that I’m always setting cameras up so I’m normally always walking them multiple times. 🤦🏽🤣
Brah... ya should of seen it before they graded it. It was cape yotk tele track. Simply the best
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the episode mate.
I’m always up for a beer, keep an eye out for me. 👍🏼
Nice one bloke !
Thanks Chook 👍🏼
Love the channel brother keep it up ✅🤙🤙
Thanks Mate. Appreciate the support. 👍🏼
Great video once again. Which way did you end up going out from Dawson city? Couple steep climbs on the way out
Thanks PK, went up Dawson City Track to Angora Range Track then back down to the Great Alpine Way.
That way wasn’t too bad, I’ve been down Dawson City Track from Engineers Road, that was definitely steeper then the way I went out.
Hey Mate, a great adventure. It didn't look like there were many places to pull over. Was that the case or just the video illusion?
@@timhaynes739 it was like that in spots, but I reckon you’d still find enough room if you confronted someone coming the other way.
Don’t let that stop you from driving it. I only past the one group and they were pulled over having lunch.
Awesome vid, great country and great to see your doing ok 👍
Cheers Paul, amazing what a month of TH-cam and work does for you. Another month would have been handy. 🤣
Cheers for watching. 👍🏼
52 yes, but not all of these are of the Haunted Stream, some were dry creek beds when I drove it which I don’t really class as a river crossing🤷🏼
The repairs were done before Xmas, as to why the track is in such good condition in this video which was filmed a couple days before NYE.
How many river crossings all up? Good video!!
They say there is 50 plus, but I reckon of the actual Haunted Stream around 35 or so? Some still wouldn’t class as a river crossing. 🤦🏽
😂 I still have nightmares about this track prior to it being repaired in fact he nik-named me the ‘winch wench’ on this track 😂
Yeah, I heard it was pretty bad there for a while, could nearly expect panel damage. 🤦🏽
We had a crack on dirt bikes back in 1992, from memory it was after a heap of rain. You could say we didn’t get to far.
Cheers for watching and taking the time to comment Winch Wench !! 🤣🤦🏽

Crocs matey, Crocs.
Just remember to engage the 4wd mode ankle strap.
I have a pair of the croc thongs, they go ok, but I reckon I need to invest in a pair and leave them in the troopy. 👍🏼
Hey Krusty oftrkn adventures hear mate these gates you went past private property do you have to call or anything to drive through the property
Hey mate, nah it’s a gazetted road as such, just make sure you close them. Think you’ll find up a bit further it becomes a seasonal closure, still have to wait a few months.
Cheers 🍻
Awsum stuff we watch the same you tubers
They can be handy sometimes … But geez they got it easy ! lol.
Are there alot of camp sites on the track ?
Not many when you actually drive it. 3 stand out ones in the first river crossing on the other side, Bayliss’s campground ( not real level and not on the river ) and Dawson City at the end. Wikicamp shows a lot more, unless they are just of the main track.
Hope that helps !
How long does it take to do the Haunted stream track
Who made the rear lift up Windows
2 different brands on my troopy, glass ones are Emuwing, solid ones are CMS ( Complete Sliding Windows S.A )
You don't talk about aliens to you pictures of your head 🥴👍⛏️🇦🇺
I read yesterday there closing this track again
Cheers
Looking good HUBS got rid of your beard.
Lovely track, I need to get back there. Keep doing what you’re doing, at your leisure of course👌

Cheers for watching and commenting ! 👍🏼👍🏼
not many places to pull up and camp
Nah mate, Dawson City at the end and Bayliss’s campground which isn’t real level. Wiki Camp show a few more, but might just be off the main track?
Mind you it only takes 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours to drive it.
*Promo sm* 👏
Something very wrong and spooky about this??. It's a Toyota Landcruiser with a handbrake that actually works🤣😂🤣👍👍
Bahaha… I freak a lot of people out where I pull up and slam the handbrake on. Sometimes I scare myself. 🤣🤣🤦🏽
