Greetings from Amsterdam. I've just bought a second hand Babboe Big, with the older 5 speed Shimano hub gears. At some point, I'll do a conversion to electric. The Babboe Big is a really good quality bakfiets. It's built like a tank. Fortunately, we've a great bike lane infrastructure here. It makes biking really easy.
How did you attach the battery? Did you drill holes in the frame or did you use some kind of clamp?
Hi I own a Babboe big and was wanting to do this conversion. How has it held up?
How do you think this might climb an 8-10% grade for .3 miles? I've got a Big and want to keep using it for commuting with the kids, but our new route has this pretty steep hill. Haven't attempted it with the bike at all yet.

I agree with you. I would have done a 20" front hub wheel conversion and kept the nexus in the rear. An internally geared hub is the best with a big heavy bike. It also would give the bike points of pull, making it a 2 x 3 essentially.
