    were those giant burritos? I dont remember exploring the actual city last time I was there... I think I just visited the ruins on the beach... but I, now, need to go back and explore the actual city... Great video guys.

      They were giant burritos YES. The ruins are great but there is so much more to Tulum. The town is superb and the beach strip just south of the ruins is the best!

    Fantastic job guys. We'll be doing a Cancun-Tulum-Playa del Carmen- Cozumel trip next November and your videos about Tulum have been very helpful. I'm a mexican living in Canada but let me confess you that it's kind of weird receive advice from foreign tourists on how enjoy my own country LOL. I've been in Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel some other times but this will be my first in Tulum. Gracias amigos!!!!

    I haven't been down there since last summer and I usually go 6+ times a year. I'm actually seriously considering becoming an Expat and moving to Playa del Carmen which is definitely my favorite place in the world!

    Wow, great video guys, I am going to Tulum in 3 weeks, in terms of the beach, would you recommend the North or the South side?, We'll stay in a house close to town but we would like to spend most of the day at the beach. thanks again and awesome video, I want to leave now to Tulum!!!!

    • @DelightfulTravellers
      @DelightfulTravellers  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We'd recommend the South side of the beach for sure. The North has more of the tourists that go to the ruins on day trips. We actually wrote a blog post on the beach clubs there. Check it out here. www.delightfultravellers.com/blog/the-lowdown-on-tulum-beach-clubs

    seems like Tulum is the place to go,to get rid of the Cancun crowds.How far is Talum from Cancun.I know its not that far maybe 2 or so hours I guess not sure.

    • @DelightfulTravellers
      @DelightfulTravellers  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tulum is the best. The 'smart' travellers spot for sure as Cancun is such a distraction from it. It's about 1.5hours from the Airport. Maybe 2 hours in traffic.

    Loved the video! just subscribed. Im going to tulum in march, but cant figure out what hotel to stay in. I want to experience the mercado, the ruins and cenotes the dos ojos or the gran cenote. I was looking at hostels but idk about that yet, i was told that they have cheap hotels for 20$ a day? what hotel did you guys stay in? what were the prices on the food? what were the names of the places you guys ate at. Sorry too many questions lol

    • @DelightfulTravellers
      @DelightfulTravellers  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think some of the hostels are quite cheap there Nathalie. We stayed in a hotel / apt. It's called Azura. The prices for local food in town were great. We stuck around the main street and the small street with Kibok Cafe on it a lot. It's the place to be there. We're excited because we'll be back there soon as well.

      Dtravelers, I agree with Rider, GDL is a beautiful city with lots of history, Colonial architecture, great food and culture but I recommend to visit once their train construction is finished. The traffic is really bad now cause the main avenues are closed. The train might be finished in 2 more years.

      Snap. I've been trying to keep my eyes peeled. I feel like I have not drank in enough hammocks since arriving.
