Came here after watching the video on your other channel discussing your future. Don’t give up man. You make great content. It may have been the Asia/China thing that got people interested but it’s your attitude and communication skills that made people stay. Been following for years and it’s really interesting to see the personal growth you’ve had and the changes you went through. You are genuine and you never try to be something that your not. People realized that in your videos about China and they will also realize it if you keep making content like this. All the best bud.

Kevin, thank you! That was incredibly helpful, and also makes me realize how much I don't want to go to Tulum! haha But I really laughed a lot at the Tuluminati because I can imagine so clearly what you mean. It was very similar in San Marcos. Guatemala! I appreciate this take, thanks so much for the honest review of these cities! :)

Just got back from QR and fell in love wit Playa and this video is spot on including the Tuluminati lol I really enjoyed the vibe and convenience of Playa didn’t like the exclusiveness of Tulum at all. 5th ave is awesome but I quickly realized Benito Juarez is where all my shopping should be done. This was the most real video I have seen in a while! I have lived in playa for almost half a year and I went to tulum many many times since it’s only 45m away in a car from playa. No doubt, playa is way better if you want to live there and if you want to have a more “real” experience. I love how playa is all mixed, the beaches like you said are mixed with locals and tourist. We are all enjoying it while in tulum you definitely don’t see that. The beaches in my opinion are more beautiful in tulum but the overall experience is way better in playa. Playita is the best!

You forgot renting a car. I got a car from a great French Canadian lady based in Playa Del Carmen and went up and down the coast from the border and the ruins, to Isla Mujeres. No fuss, no scams, you just need to be assertive driving and watch out for gas station tricks. But we saw so many things that we otherwise wouldn't like far flung cenotes.

LOL, I agree with what you say, Tulum might be nice for a resort experience on vacation, but not so much to live and work. I seem to have evaded the Tuluminati thus far, although I will be back for some meditation retreat time.

Playa Del Carmen has so many bars, restaurants, stores, and night life on 5th Ave. The walk ability is great! Credit cards are widely accepted and 5th Ave is only two blocks from the beach. Hands down PDC is better than Tulum. For less than $100 you can go to a beach club, have some drinks and food there, walk back to 5th Ave and have a massage and still have money left over.

The safer area of Tulum is very “sceney” and extremely expensive- all you will see are “influencers” everywhere taking pics at the beach clubs/parties, etc. It’s a cool vibe though for ONLY 1-2 days max - it all starts to get extremely boring after that (whereas playa del carmen is a vibe 24/7- stayed for over a month each time I’ve gone there)
Btw, they also have random deep house parties in the jungle that are pretty cool. Just be mindful of your surroundings at all times and go out in large groups.
