Did youtube just randomly recommend me Spiff's brother? I mean, I like it, XCOM challenge runs are fun as hell. I'm just surprised I was dropped into someone (else) casually saying "I love Yorkshire Tea" out of nowhere. I even did a double take to make sure there was no stockphoto going alongside that line.
100% This guy's content isn't bad but it is borderline identity theft from the Spiffing Britt. That being said, Americans love hearing the accent and cheeky commentary so keep it up. I would recommend establishing your own punch lines and phrases that way you set yourself apart rather than sounding like an echo. Cheers mate and good luck
@justintibbetts9849 "Borderline identify theft" Or ya know, he's just British and likes a certain kind of tea like someone else. Because two people are similar doesn't mean one is stealing the other's identity.
@@Permafrost1 Apparently "ranger" is short for "CLOSE RANGE...R!?". Maybe that's why Bradford is a ranger. Also you just made me realize that name doesn't make much sense now lol. I never thought about it. But it makes sense since they were supposed to be your primary scouting unit, up until the DLC introduced Reapers.
Sorry for the late upload had an appointment to upgrade the internet that got mismanaged so had to upload the old fashioned way which took from monday till now so really sorry about that but the video is here! hope you all enjoy!!!
This reminds me of my crazy ranger that went absolutely nuts in one of my playthroughs. They got Serial as a cross trained skill, and that allowed them to manage 22 kills in a single turn by running from pod to pod and deleting them with shotgun shots and blade kills (shotgun had the maxed out quick reload attachment), ending on dropping an Avatar with Rapid Fire. That turn is still the single most satisfying moment I've had in XCom 2 to date.
@InsaneFrame It's probably still the most broken combo I've come across in the game to date, since it lets you move to within point blank range after every single shot, so they're essentially pulling equilibrium gun kata as they dance around. Combine it with the axe to set up takedowns on heavier enemies you'd otherwise struggle to take out in one move and you can just keep ripping through them.
I have 13 hours in a game so far. How can you physically make 20 kills in one turn? Also, how can you mix abilities of the ame tier, for example conceal and run and gun?
@@elion4245 There's a cross training perk at the Major tier that allows for a Ranger that regains all action points on scoring a kill, which allows for use of the Ranger's ability to move and shoot with a shotgun to score multiple kills against relatively soft targets in quick succession. In that playthrough I also had the region bonus for max level weapon upgrades, and the shotgun being used was modded with an autoloader and expanded mags specifically for this interaction. So all combined I had a Ranger that was able to sprint, fire, get a kill and repeat until they ran out of targets to shoot, and that supported by a pair of snipers and Psi Troopers that were able to soften up hard targets for them to finish off. This combined with the way that the final mission spawns in packs during the avatar phase meant that there were a lot of soft targets grouped together, and you had the recipe for a single soldier that just mows through them all given that they had ~20 shots, a sword and an axe to toss around within that single crazy turn. Also, there was no training of abilities in the same tier from what I know. The Ranger had Shadowstep and not Conceal to deny reaction attacks
@@IainDoherty51 thanks for a good answer. I was able to advance in the game by now and I think somewhat approach the finale (judging by the upgrades) So, now I actually got that perk randomly on my best specialist. It all makes more sense now, especially considering how busted ranged single target damage is. To select ability like that ig you need WOTC campaign. I didn't want to do it as a first playthrough, to have a pure experience so later I will be able to tell what is a base game and what's not. Definitely will aim for 2 rangers on the team for a next playthrough, they are way too useful. How do you personally rank the classes, being much more experienced player? (i'm 20 hours in and so far I had experience like that: Ranger > Grenadier > Specialist > Sharpshooter)

At first glance I thought this video would be quite hard, as I usually treat Templars as a straight upgrade to Rangers, but wow have I forgotten how broken many of the Ranger abilities are. No access to shredder and rapid fire is going to make it so much harder for them, even with the Templars ridiculous survivability and ghost. And many of their best abilities being random extras.
tbh I never understood why Templars are so much more popular than Rangers to most people. They say they're OP, but: - Can't solo a map w/ a templar (not easily at least), without dumping ability points into them or great random abilities - Any Ranger meanwhile is always top-tier. They can absolutely solo a map more than once on L/I, and they don't need much investment either
templars take a while to get started both with their resource meter as well as in terms of leveling meanwhile the rangers only downside is one they share with templars (unintentionally uncovering more alien patrols)
@@InsaneFrameI mean it does get countered by another enemy shooting you, but that implies that there is enough enemies in ranger for that to actually happen
